i can't imagine considering $12.99 "paying up" for shoes. you have insane cheap shoe prices. $12.99 for a decent pair of un-trashed shoes would be a bargain in any Goodwill in this city - that is, if you could get to such a thing without engaging in fisticuffs with the mamacitas who fill their carts with any shoe with a recognizable logo, and defend their territories like a mountain lion guarding cubs.
Central PA here as well. Salvation Army is the only place I can get used shoes for less than $10. Community Aid also marks theirs up to the point that half off days are still overpriced most of the time. 🙃

You can get more than that for the Hokas. I sold a pair over the weekend that were scuffed up and missing the insoles for $40. I paid $5 and they Sold overnight. I’d ask at least $80 and take offers. Hokas do well and sell fast for me.

Whimsigoth, think the goth aesthetic with a touch of fun whimsy. A lot of aesthetics have crossover styles. I think of whimsigoth as doing with the normal blacks, dark shades, but add in some florals, playful color pops, etc. Like gothic that doesn’t take itself as seriously.

It’s so funny to hear someone talking about $12.99 being a lot. Our shoes average $20-30 with brands like Uggs or Fyre being $100-200 for boots.
