Hey chandani .I think it's the white sand is where the new demerara river crossing will be . Where the red orange soil is ,will have a port .shipping port .one of the largest Shipping port will be built there by azruddin mohamed in the caribbean. Also there is a man made island in the demerara river being built for a next port .at vreed en hoop foreshore . The materials of the bridge will be built on the red soil then transported to the river for the bridge. I am one of the workers so I know alot about the bridge and how it will be built . The new modern highspan bridge will have four lanes and will be completed for the last quarter of 2023 .but I still know for sure that the bridge will take much longer . Since we will have to use a modern way of building it. We will have to built s tube where the bridge foot will have to be to make the bridge high enough so vessels can pass under .it's not easy since we have to built it in the water . My estimate is that by 2024 first quarter it will be finished .that's my thought about it . Just so u know the new bridge will be as tall as a 15 floor building . Edit at 20:11 there is a bride . The new demerara river bridge will be built over that bridge in fact it will be built over the trench .the new bridge will fly over the east bank public road . Right beside the princess hotel there is a trench that have a sign saying government reserves .the new bridge will be built right beside the princess hotel ant will connect to the new four lane road being built . So the new bridge length would be twice as long as the old one .
I am old enough to remember when the first bridge was built in the late 70s, before that you to have to get a car ferry to George town. Guyana is moving at pace from 40 years ago.
