❤GREAT MEMORIES, I SHOPPED AT GERMAN RESTAURANT FROM 1960 TO 1967. MY GRANDFATHER HAD A CAKE SHOP AT 12 A QUEEN STREET, TIGER BAY OPPOSITE THE CHURCH/FORGERTY’S WHOLESALE AND SEDOFF YARD. SEDOFF YARD HAD A BLACKSMITH AND A TAILOR NAMED MR. GODWIN. THERE WAS ALSO SARGANTS WELDING SHOP. ALSO, FOREMANS SHOE SHOP.❤

Hi Chandi.....Fantastic video.....but if I remember correctly the original German's was on Robb Street....I could be wrong though....old age....thanks again....have a great night.....PS...I love the snacks at Wendy's and the cowheel soup at German's.....Before Giftland on Water Street....that same location was a similar store called Psaila Bros....really old fashion store....you could drop a pin at the front door and you would hear the drop in the back.....

Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Your content is so beautiful and calming. I'm shocked and appalled that a bowl of soup costs $18. Canadian dollars. The average Guyanese cannot patronize these places. Why is the Government not regulating all these industries countrywide. So many local businesses charging north American prices when one GY dollar is still $145 CAD. This is absolute insanity. I haven't been back in 30 years and have occasionally monitored the prices for stuff -- the greed when comparing is incredible. Poor and middle class Guyanese cannot afford these ridiculous prices and the Government allows the insanity to flourish. I know Georgetown well. I lived on Charlotte and Oronoque Sts. And walked to and from Queen's College daily. Blessings to you and best wishes with everything.
