  • This video is my review of episodes 3 and 7 of The Acolyte. Episode 3 titled Destiny and episode 7 titled Choice should be the two most important shows of the season since they set up and explain the main question of the show: what happened in Brendok. Episode 3 was certainly controversial for many reasons but episode 7 was supposed to provide crucial answers. Unfortunately, it gave us even more questions and the answers we did get were disappointing. For one, it was never explained why Sol was so determined to make Osha his Padawan. He is the driving force behind everything that happens yet we still have no explanation why he is so driven to do this. I believe a better explanation in episode 3 would have shown us why he wants a Padawan so badly. Also, what did Indara do to Kelnacca to break the witches' spell over him and why did that cause them to die? That was very strange to see and, again, an explanation of this would have helped make this clear. As for Torbin, episode 7 did not provide enough reasons for why he was so sullen when we first meet him. He should have had a much bigger hand in the tragedy for him to feel the way he did. If anything, Sol would have felt that amount of guilt since it was his actions that caused everything. Also, Mae watched Sol take Aniseya down right in front of her. It seems strange that she would not blame him solely responsible and want to get rid of him first. Mae also seemed unsure of herself throughout the season as she changed he mind on what she truly wanted. Watching Sol do that should have made her extremely clear on what she wanted; vengeance. I enjoyed the Kelnacca lightsaber battle against Torbin and Sol though. I wish it was longer and more destructive. I also like the actors who portray Aniseya and Sol. They are the best parts of the show next to Qimir.
