    I fell in love with Trini cuisine while visiting T&T a few years ago. I managed to find dasheen leaves at my local grocery and can't wait to make this! I appreciate the tips on cleaning the leaves in particular, would have never known how to do that otherwise.

    golden ray can be found in your grocery store in the section where you buy your blue band butter and golden ray is a strong tasty ingredient lots of people add in food

    Hi, I just made it. Hope it comes out great. I was just wondering about the quantity of bell peppers and pimentos together. I am used 3 big pimentos and opted to omit the bell peppers. I have coconut milk powder at home and will be using an entire 50 grams pack.

    When done you must removed the hot pepper and thyme stalks... these need not to be blended.. also any meat if added.. Replaced all after blending

    You shouldn’t touch the point of the leaf with your bare hands. Grease your figures with oil first then pinch. That will avoid your hands from itching you. The bush can cause that if you’re not accustomed to it. I learned this from my grandmother, this was after experiencing a serious itch as a child when cleaning it

    Why do you clean the dasheen leaves.. are they hard... leaves..
    Because we usually just wash it and cut it up not even the pick comes out and prepare it and serve it.. And it's always delicious...

      It was the way I grew up cleaning it..sometimes if it's not cleaned it scratches the back of the throat,so I guess its personal preference.

      @@TriniCookingwithNatasha I am interested in tasty quinoa recipes as well. I usually just make the quinoa like fried rice, mix it with minced chicken like pelau or bake it like a casserole( after boiling)and top with cheese.
