No one asked for this questionable adjustability and unquestionable structural weakness. But Canyon did it anyway as it easier for them to pack it and ship this way.🥸 … and as a gimmick to be distinguished from other brands
buyer beware: Wow look at the nice new shiny bike, it’s a beautiful piece of German engineering, but I want to let you know of my experience with Canyon Aeroad CF SL8. I too was delighted with the thought of a sophisticated bike at a reasonable price point. It came with a 6 year warranty, but that warranty is useless. I have logged over 30 thousand miles on my Specialized Allez with no major issues, I have replaced the gear cable for the rear derailleur a couple of times and the tires only once. My 11 month canyon had to have the bottom bracket replaced after only 5,000 miles. I reported this to Canyon and they are blaming me for not taking proper care of my bike. I loved this bike and looked after it accordingly. Washed at least once a week (no pressure wash) locked in the garage overnight and stored in the basement during the winter. After finding a mechanic who would repair my bike (most technician won’t ever look at a Canyon) he told me that the bottom bracket is a cheap one that has no seal against water and debris intrusion. It breaks my heart to have to write this but if I can at least help one person with this it will be worth it. Canyon did offer me a $75.00 voucher on their web site but to me thats useless.
Thanks for sharing. Congrats on the new bike. This is my dream bike, but canyon doesn't show the geometry of the handlebar on their website. It would be difficult and expensive if the stem is too short or something like that.
Unboxing, always emotional. Beautiful bike. I don’t get way for the shimano groupsets Canyon is stuck on DT Swiss wheels. Top hubs, but old concept (to thin and heavy).
so apparently the story with the bolts are that they're made in germany if i am not wrong, and your bike has quite a few of the same bolts for ease of assembly and replacement.
Cool! I assume that kind of handlebar will be the standard in the future, just hope there will be some kind of international standard. Else it's going to be crazy expensive to replace. Most handlebars these days are sold like 2-4cm too wide for the size of bike they are on.
The back wheel, is it screwed into the frame? Does the frame have an alu bracket in it or how does it work? Because from the outside it does not have a screw like the old Aeroad.
Does the Decal on the Elitewheels look more silver or more white in real life? Considering getting those on my Trek Emonda, which is black/orange with the silver TREK Logo.
Why oh Why oh Why do bike companies make bikes & add a terrible bike bell… Would be good if all bike manufacturers used the same style bolts. On a very positive note, Canyon’s Headset, Bars, Computer Mount & assembly looked really good, I’m fairly sure the idea of the Bolt Key came from BMC, however could be wrong.
I think the bell is required by law. It differs in various countries - where I live bikes must come with front and back reflectors, and my canyon indeed had a white and red reflector set in the box to put on the bike haha :)
Unfortunately kinda crazy that you can't choose the pace bars ...everyone is gonna get the pace bars and those other ones will just go to waste. Not to environmental
What a lovely cat. I'm not really into Quest Composite bikes they seem poor quality to me compared to other factories. It's certainly stylish though I just question the long term safety of such a bike.
I dunno. I’ve bought GP5000 since they released the very first ones with « transparent sidewalls » and every time said sidewalls were slightly different. Never the same hue of brown/beige… some a bit glossy some matte. The very first ones I got just when they were released (literally jumped on them) were really glossy, deep brown, and had a translucent aspect, really looked « transparent » the ones after that looked less « transparent » more matte and a lighter shade of brown. But then these are made by hands so variations are inevitable. There is no way CANYON would get inferior/cheapo GP5000 from Continental… especially to be put on their top tier 9000€ bike!!
There is some properly clever stuff going on at the front end of that bike in terms of adjustability. Chapeau Canyon!

That is a top of the line super bike, many years of enjoyment...

Unboxing is always the best 🤩🤩not even interested in this kind of cycling but unpacking a new bike is always a blast
Beautiful bike, thanks for sharing.
Amazing bike! Congratulations!!! Drive safe and have fun! I wish some day i can buy one of those.
Me too!
Nice cat ! The bike is decent as well :)
Such a wholesome video.
🦓
This should be Canyon's unboxing video - very useful thanks
Very nice dude.. congrats on new bike day.. looks great with the drive wheels.. hopefully you’ll do a ride review 😊 Pete 🚴🏻👍
@@n22pdf I wish, not my bike😭
Nice looking bike, very slick👍
Great sharing. I like the part where he toss away the bell.

Congrats! (To the owner.) Stunnin' bike
That's alot of money right there, wish you all the best with the bike
Congratulations on the new bike!
Sadly not my bike 😭
@@bikoticGET ONE NOW! 😊

What a machine!
thats a perfect aerobike right there
gorgeous road machine
Nice garden!
Merry Christmas!
Beautiful looking bike and the vid gets a like for the excellent cat 😺 👍
Very nice. Will it clear 32C tyres on wide modern rims, like 32mm wide (external) rims? Basically the tyres would measure up to 34mm.
Much much better with deeper wheels (Elite Drive 60? 65?) and these narrow Aero bars 👌🏼

Same for the crankarms!!
a lot of special parts , good luck with spare parts.
fair point
so amazing vlog!
CFR out of budget. Planning the SLX 7 (105 di2) wonder if other then groupset and wheels, if the rest of the bike is the same.
What a very nice bike 👍👍 what kind of assembly stand is this
The Bell is quite usefull!

Thank you !
new bike day :) :)
those handlebars need and exorcism. Do they feel solid? Or do they rattle a bit?
You definitely deserve that nice bike! Congratulations.
Edit: damn its not your bike😅

Silver
Arriba!
There seems to be an issue with the headset bolt that gets tightened to 12nm, keeps coming loose mid ride
Really?have you contacted canyon?have you solved an issue?
Which size is this one?
Does the color change with a different angle?
A machine!
The cat is so cute😍

true
2:07 the bell toss had me :D
I would have put the bell on-just to annoy certain people’s sensibilities.😅

size of frame?

@@bikotic may I ask how tall you are? Are you happy with your choice of size? Thx!
whats the bulge in that tyre
Yeh good question!!
@@bikotic i'd ditch that tyre as it'll blow out and you'll scratch the CFR

no, sadly not my bike 😭
Congratulations on new bike!
It's not mine😭
