  • Finally a manufacturer has made some lightweight forks for a sub 4t mini digger. I'm excited to put them to the test on my jobs.

    Very interested to c more of ur day to day work Ollie. A super asset for any machine in that weight class.

      I've always steered away from the day to day kind of videos as I see so many other people doing them and figure I'd try to add something different to RUclips by giving an in depth thought or opinion of the kit I get to drive. But happy to try a few if you and others think its something you would like to see. What in particular would you like me to show?

      @@Olliegunns like myself u try to be cutting edge. And innovative. Plus ur a skilled operator. It’s amazing how other pros can learn from watching each other operate. Just be urself and show ur work. I’ll bet u a coffee ur subs will go up.

      Yeah, sorry I've been a bit tied up with some tricky jobs and struggled to find the mental space to film anything to be honest. Its been 7 days a week and long hours, but planning on getting some more content up going forward. Watch this space

    Great forks indeed we have been enjoying them since march on our 2 ton machine, they are indeed pricey but they allowed me to take all my buckets with me in an old ibc container we cut the top off so defenitly worth it for me

    Use the frame to make round or large square bale spears and you could unload hay trailers on a farm. Excellent for 4-7 ton machine

    I managed to load 3 x 1 ton pallets with your old Bmc ones the other day on my kx71-3 but was touch and go 😂

    I made my own with a frame from a compact tractor, they have been great. Much less then the ones from engcon but i'm sure the engcons ones are more durable than mine.

    I suspect Redskapsfabriken has more suitable forks. Weight is 57kg less, and capacity only 800kg, for about a third of the money.

      @Olliegunns  Месяц назад

      Well you arent wrong! I had never heard of Redskapsfabriken but once again the Swedish are ahead of us in the UK. Wish I knew about these earlier - although I don't think there is a dealer here in the UK for them sadly

      Excellent video Ollie - these will be invaluable. But the Redskaps ones do look to be lighter, not sure if they are Finnish (they have a picture on the top of their home page that is exactly that of my avant stone/riddle bucket so thinking Finnish!). Shame this information is so hard to come by - earthmovers have had articles from Scandinavian events but it’s all a bit “light” on detail despite being able to see stuff in photos that’s interesting! But they did make me aware of Holp rotators that are super light compared to tilt rotators so….

    Good vid ollie. 👌
    Q, is it a problem having the sloped back asaposed to it flat, ie sitting them on the floor rather than the sloped back throwing the forks high in the air ? I had a set from Titus that was good but done the same, 1 of the reasons for me moving them on, #tripping

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  Месяц назад +1

      If you drop them off they do sit with the tips up in the air yeah, a bit unwieldly to have around like that. But I have found putting them upside down and taking them off seems to work better. I think a lot of excavator pallet forks suffer from this issue

  • @adrianbrock5497
    @adrianbrock5497 Месяц назад

    Is this not similar to the JB equipment PF2 forks?

    • @Olliegunns
      @Olliegunns  Месяц назад

      JB make some excellent stuff. But the smallest pallet fork they make weighs 170kg and only has a max rating of 750kg. These are rated to 2 ton and weigh 130kg. Doesnt sound a lot (and being rated to 2t on such a small machine is a bit of a mute point) but the weight is key to being able to lift just that bit more with these mini machines

    • @adrianbrock5497
      @adrianbrock5497 Месяц назад

      @Olliegunns ah wasn't aware of the difference in weight. Yeah, makes a big difference. I've a selector grab on a TB016 and even that feels uneasy at funny angles
