When I went and picked up our GV70 the G70 Shooting Brake was in the show room. It really stood out in a show room full of beautifully designed cars. As for user experience we have had our twin turbo six for two months and 3,500 klms. Love it, no issues and I would average about one comment from someone a week about how nice it looks. From complete strangers. And no, it ain't me I don't look that good.

Congrats on the G70! I’d like to be the compliment on your car that you receive this week! Seriously it’s a great looking car. I’ve heard mixed things about their service network so it’ll be interesting to see how your ownership experience goes after some time has passed. I’m guessing the only thing that may hold Genesis back is some nervousness from potential buyers about resale values. It sure looks classy though.

It's frustrating that in this age of everything being a SUV, cars such as these on the outside look like a great alternative for someone that has a family, but then you look at the rear passenger space and its comparable to a 90s Civic hatchback...such a shame

I love the design, internal execution. Although tall people will find the limited space a bit uncomfortable, I see this vehicle as a relaxing cruiser. A lot of "sportier" options out there. So a nice change for someone looking for something more sedated in today's "rush hour" lifestyle 🕺🥂

This is not a limitation of Android Auto. There are plenty of models with 10.25" screen that change the design and puts the lower panel onto the left or right hand side (depending on the driver side). That Android Auto labelled area becomes a context based second screen for navigation, music or phone depending on what you're doing

The issue with non-full screen Android Auto is definitely not a limitation of Android Auto, other manufacturers have similar format widescreen displays with full-screen Android Auto. This has been an extremely common complaint with Kia/Hyundai (and by extension Genesis) cars among Android Auto users unfortunately, disappointing to see yet another model that has this issue given that it first cropped up around 2019, over 2 years ago.

@@CarExpertAus i suspect that particular aspect ratio is a limitation of android auto

    • @BodenM
      @BodenM 2 года назад +1

@@nedyahyakcam nope, Android Auto in widescreen mode is largely aspect ratio agnostic. The only thing required to enable it is for the car/headunit to tell the phone "this is a widescreen/large format display" and Android Auto will display in just about any resolution or aspect ratio, including vertical ones. Any manufacturer that has a non-fullscreen implementation of Android Auto that says "this is a limitation of Android Auto" is flat out wrong.

Ive had my G70 2.0T Sport for six months now after 3 years with the Kia Stinger GT and enjoy it every bit as much even with the step down from 6 to 4 cylinders. It is a more agile, refined and composed vehicle all around and of all the feature differences I really only miss the 360 camera view which was such a big help for avoiding curb rash to the rims when parallel parking. As far as the criticism of rear seat room for me and I'm sure many others this is not a problem as my family are all average height and I almost never carry other /tall passengers. Enjoyed Pauls review as always.

And by the look of it its the same roof in this thing. Aside from the roof issue it was an awesome car and somewhat upset that it had to go, but if you can't do a panoramic roof that is solid with no noise, then don't do it at all.

An interesting proposal, until I see the Lane Keep Assist icon at 8:20 - this is an instant no.
If nothing has changed, this is the same as what new cars from Hyundai/Kia has, where they force this to default to 'On' across engine restarts no matter what the driver selects. Even worse - this technology doesn't work well with turns on a highway or unclear marks on the road, a few occasions it steers towards the truck beside me or the concrete middle divider when I'm doing 100+km/h. This is way beyond inconvenient.

Got PS4s on Golf Wagon and they are quite loud over corse chip at open road. The price you pay for performance 😅

The wagon is better than the sedan. 👍

Why would they think that we would not want the V6TT for this thing. Not a smart move Genesis

@@CarExpertAus heaps of space in the bay for it. Wouldn’t be surprised if we see some swaps with the stinger motor soon

Genius had the "world" to work with in creating a G70 wagon. As much of me is a Hyundai proponent (I drive a Sonata,, great car). What doesn't work for me is the line between the "B" pillar and "C" pillar. "Let's see, I'm a sedan, or NO, I'm a wagon,,, or NO, I'm a sedan.

Shirt story: $80K - petrol 4cyl . . . won't sell! At that price the 6 cyl turbo would have a definite chance. Beautiful car & quality but not $80K for what is offered here. I'd definitely be a buyer at $80 but only for a V6 twin turbo AND tweaked higher than the Stinger (that powerplant was due for an upgarde anyway)

There's a special place in hell for SUV lovers 😂
This with the V6 or EV would win my heart. Nice work Genesis.
PS. New version of Android Auto out in a few months which fixes that screen real estate problem.

The Skoda Superb 4x4 Wagon is a better car. More room and faster as well. I also hate how manufacturers don't incorporate the infotainment system in the dash, it always looks like a tacky addon to me when they do this.

You can't compere the skoda to this. This is a lot more of a premium car.

Don't get matte paint. If you have to respray a panel the paint will never match other panels when viewed from different angles
