This is a British member of parliament we can be proud of. ❤️ 🇬🇧
@allenjenkins-xd5ui Indulging in partisanship here is disgraceful.
I don't agree with his politics as an ERG member, but I salute his courage enormously. He is one of only a few MPs on both sides of the house of whom we can be proud.
Why? OK so he returned to work after surgery , so do millions.A Tory is a Tory.
Yeah I don't want to be proud of MPs personal lives I want to be proud of their effectiveness towards ours.
There’s nothing uniquely British about this. This could easily happen in Canada or US congress.
@@prideofdurham4776
He also literally broke the law in 2015 to beat Nigel Farage spending over double the legal limit. He threw one of his own team under the bus who got criminally convicted. Real hero.
This is Britishness....this is why I still love my country (just)
I’m not even British but somehow I am so happy and somehow proud to be able to see this, the fact that he went through hell and back and still has a sense of humour, is so so British, love it 🙂
@allenjenkins-xd5ui?????
No this is Englishness and people need to remember that not as dirty term.
Because only the British get sepsis? What exactly is British about this?
Why? Because the GovUK blows off civilians and children's limbs with your money? 🤑
What a huge huge inspiration!!! I wish him and his wife and daughter the best and a long and happy life together
This guy got some nerves, even cracks jokes. Love this guy
Why? Because the GovUK blows off civilians and children's limbs with your money? 🤑
What a great guy. I cannot even begin to understand what he has been through, but what spirit!
I guess falsifying election expenses in 2015 and letting one of his team take the fall for it with a criminal conviction is a testament to his character.
Didn't Andrew Bridgen have the right sort of vaccine injuries for them?
He took a jab and got sick .
He wants all of us to go get tge same jab .
Your replies here might just be the saddest and most repellent things I have ever read on this site.
Wish this MP all the best, a warm hearted and brave man
Amid all the hate spewed by those on the far left and far right - remember this is the core of what we are. Never get caught up in the vitriole.
Tell that to offender in chief Raynor or maybe Yousaf calling everyone "white" as if its a bad thing.
@@stopthewave3907not exactly, but this is the hate spewing…
@@stopthewave3907hate spewer. Change your actions please. 🙏
Conquer hate by hating those whom we perceive to hate!!
Oh... wait... .
@@ToodyslexicforyouTo be fair, the same can be applied to the hate marchers in London
His dad is a friend of my dad. I have to be honest and say I never thought much of Craig before this as we’re poles apart politically. I’ve changed my mind though. The bloke has guts: huge respect.
Wholesome, human moments do hapen in parliament from time to time. Despite how cynical the political landscape has made us. Glad to hear about his good humour and health.
It's quite refreshing and nice to see. Won't find much of that here, across the pond. They're all too busy trying to be better than one another, trying to get their way, or smearing other members in the mud.
They are still just clapping for the NHS
Well done Sir and well spoken. What an example to me to follow and for many to emulate.Best wishes.
Well deserved welcome to Craig. 👍
Yes he can go back to wrecking the country
What an amazing person, God bless him, and thank goodness for his family, friends and the NHS who all helped him to pull through to get where he is today. His speech left me with a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye, very moving indeed ❤
Now that is true British spirit and resilience. He is a fantastic role model.
Why? Because he works for the GovUK that blows off civilians and children's limbs with your money? 🤑
What an incredible performance. Well Done that man.
Well done for what wrecking the country for 14 years
Why? Because he works for the GovUK that blows off civilians and children's limbs with your money? 🤑
I am speechless. It's so good to see what Parliament can be like and those actions which we never hear about.
1:50 this *powerfully* droll humour will be noted in Hansard, and thus enshrined in our legislative history; standing testament to this member's, and our nation's, great humour and resolve in the face of crisis ❤
What a star. MP with guts, not many of them about.
This deserves to go viral soon
Why? Because the GovUK blows off civilians and children's limbs with your money? 🤑
As long as it doesn't go septic
They will clap for the NHS but they won’t give them a pay raise!
I think all MP’s should have to rely on the NHS, no private care allowed, that way they’d take care of it!
Most Western countries have a 15% - 20% excess mortality.
Having seen first hand the necessity for the NHS, hopefully he can persuade those around him to do the right thing and help to rebuild it instead of stripping it back to the shell it is now.
First hand and second hand! 🙊
What is actually meant by this. Like we are funding it at a higher rate than ever? It squanders so much money, it needs restructuring, it really isn’t a money issue
'bionic arm'. fake news.
What an absolute legend, massive respect to Craig and all he does. What a rare powerful and humble moment for the Commons. 🇬🇧
Congratulations Sir
Safe and effective karma.
Yes , the "safe and effective" causes bacterial sepsis
When things seem so demoralising globally … this man gives us so much inspiration and hope … an exceptional human being (and funny!!!!)
Exceptional NHS staff
An extraordinary example of human stoicism and personal fortitude in the face of sudden awful adversity.
He represents the best of us in the worst circumstances..
Welcome back sir
A Tory but a courageous man who deserves our respect for his dignity and humour. Wishing him well for the future,
"A Tory but a courageous man..." It takes a lack of courage and arrogance to say that. Anyone can be courageous regardless of what they believe in, even Tories in opposition to your biases.
The Tory party is often where the only courage within those walls lays.. remember the difference in Tobias Ellwood rushing to the aid of PC Palmer .. there is more military background in the conservatives, and I’d vouch a Labour MP would never ever have ran towards danger in the same manner.
An actor, lying. 'bionic arm'. fake news.
The courage and bravery shown here is amazing ..
Brave to be in a room so full of rats and psychos ?
Maybe now the government have one of their own saved by the NHS, they will start to understand its importance and fund it correctly
I had sepsis back in 2014.
It was a truly horrible experience.
Politics must be put aside.
Welcome back.
Jesus, what a brave man, true Sir Knight of the English Relm!🏴
Bring a tear to a glass eye
How long would it take an average brit to get these prosthetics?
It doesn't say how he contracted Sepsis, and how long ago it was. Something must have brought it on. I wonder if he was ill previously.
I believe he had it in September and he started to feel unwell in the evening and was taken to hospital the following morning. Not previously ill.
💉💉
Tory MP gets Karma. Classic..
vaxx
There goes a real man.humble and brave.
Brilliant. What a wonderful man.
They all sudenly find love for the NHS when THEY need it, but lets do 15 years of cut backs....
Moving moment that transends politics.
Respect to him,but whats frustrating the house applouded the nhs for the job they did.give them the money.
This is one of the few things I liked today.
Bless him 🙏.... what a guy i wish him a long and happy life
Somebody should tell him to stop having boosters while there's still some of him left .
Take my hat off to this fine gentleman and also to our wonderful NHS.
Fantastic man, credit to family and country that he keeps going despite this tough situation
What a Gentleman and a character.
Bravo
A good positive moment in the House, and MP's of all parties welcome him back on a human level above politics, also a bit of dark humour there. Some do point out though that the hospital staff did great including the NHS he did benefit from private treatment too, whom many others cannot afford.
No, he didn't get private treatment. He bought his prosthetics privately.
@@MikeAG333 Interesting that's what I is being widely shared online, good for him and the work of those in the NHS but he was lucky to have the money to by his prosthetics as many of us could not afford that perhaps that needs to be made clear in all news reports.
safe and effective
Yes ! There is a link between the "safe and effective" and bacterial sepsis
Wow. An Emotional speech and Moment. Sometimes Politics seems Irrelevant
He thanked Sunak for his support. Said it was “the mark of the man he is”. Sunak then threw Craig and all his other MPs straight under the next bus and called an election. McKinley, Cash and Redwood are a loss to Parliament. Sunak can’t get out soon enough,
Honestly Craig might have decent odds of winning.
He’ll get some good publicity out of this, and the Tories are typically seen as weak on the NHS, Craig can reasonably argue he won’t be.
Plus there’s huge potential for some self depicting campaign leaflets “Now 25% less Tory”, “Representing my constituents, even if it costs me an arm and a leg.”
Bravo!!!
A great man of courage! May God bless him, his family and our nation. 🇬🇧 🙏
Wow. Much respect. What a warrior.
That poor brave man. It's ironic he's speaking in the very place they make laws which could ban dangerous medical experiments.
First class.
His bravery is inspiring and I wish him, and his family the very best for the future.
Full praise for the NHS. How about a proper pay rise Rishi?
I really hope the next government tackles inflation, things that used to cost an arm and a leg have doubled in price!
Will he try to get better funding for the NHS and support for disabled people now?
Such a shame that due to chronic NHS underfunding this man had to go to a private hospital for his prosthesis. Big up the NHS
Had no idea sepsis was a thing like this until today, god bless him for getting back to work
God bless him ❤
What god?
Where was this god to stop him needing a quadruple amputation?
Yes Marie God bless this inspiring man and his family and wish them well. Sepsis is a terrible thing.
What a brave man.
PIP approved and fast-tracked no doubt.
Massive respect for dealing with his condition and life changing treatment. Inspirational 👍
He doesn´t stand for the next elections he said .He finally matches his politics:No hands nor feet🤔
When I see this man, so full of courage, I think of Kipling’s poem ‘If’ - Mr Mackinley is everything the poem advocates us to be.
Get your vaccine...
anyone else wondering how he .....?
😇😇😇💯💯👋👋👋👋👍👍👍💖💖💖 MY SENTIMENTS TOO !!! EXCELLENT . FROM, U.K. (2024).
Brave man. What a sense of humour in the face of unimaginable adversity.
Love him God’s blessings 🙏❤️❤️
A genuine hero..!! 👏👏
This Is How A True Government Is Supposed To Be Done.😭 Well Done.
How did he contract sepsis ? Is it avoidable?
Google it
biggest killer in hospitals
HE got the vax
The shame is they didn't all catch it. Grandstanding and pay rises always see a full house, anything else. Nope.
@@Johnnystammy he got the vax
We can only imagine what dark times he and his family have grappled with. Wishing him all the best for the future which will, no doubt continue to present challenges. May he continue to find the courage and resilience to meet them.
He seems like a really good man, need more like him!
Absolute respect to that man, so brave. I like how he retains his sense of humour when he has been through so much. What a credit to the human race !!
Brilliant speech!
Good for him for putting a brave face on and getting on with life. That takes a LOT of guts.
the raw courage of it all.
Wow
Very brave man just like our colleagues both covert and overt returning from duty in the UK and overseas
Such a brave man! Some would give up and lose hope but he shows so much courage and determination to try and carry on with his life the best he can!
please vote to strengthen the NHS so that it works for the many tens of millions who need care.
and not weaken it with cuts like so many of your Tory colleagues
Good heavens, the things that appear on RUclips. I’ll have to do a search on his story.
He’s very lucky to be alive. And fortunate to be able to have the money for those prosthetics without having to wait a long time and fundraise to afford them. Maybe there will be more compassion in the house for people with disabilities and long term conditions having someone with direct lived experience in a seat. Sad to say that but sometimes this is what it takes for change to happen. Maybe it will also pave the way for other disabled people to come forward as MPs. I can’t remember any others except David Blunkett
A fantastic inspiration for all of us - well done to him
Get well soon.but empty claps for our amazing NHS pay them what they deserve ruined our health service. Because most of these lot normally go private.
Oh brave new world that has such people in it.
Great sight today in Parliament , whole house working as one . There is hope for the future .
Suddenly I'm not half the man I used to be.
To be fair, he called out the NHS for their stupendous work BUT fell short on a passionate speech and plea to the entire congregation to save the NHSand invest in it!
Welcome back, Sir 🎉
A true warrior!!!! A'Ho and Amen!!!!
This is my MP and I never knew. He looks very different certainly in the face. Hope he recovers well.
Steve Austin eat your heart out😁😁
HERE HERE!
We already do have early warning of sepsis in NHS Scotland. Dunno about the UK tho
