My last two pens have ejected a lot of fluid when I select the prime position. Not just a drop. I was careful to select the correct position. Am I losing my first dose?
@nh5er237 : Hey, my fellow Ozempic friend! 🙋🏼♀️ So I don’t know the answer to ur ?, but I just got my very 1st pen & I TOO had the EXACT SAME THING just happen to me!! Like you, I also carefully selected the position she said, the line w/2 dots (essentially the 1st position after the “0” it comes on), I held the pen upright w/the needle in the air (as per Ozempic’s online instructions)… …however before even pushing the button, I could see a drip coming out-but I pushed the button anyhow bc it says to! A decent little shot of liquid flew in the air! @WatkinsMetabolic , bc a drop was already present when I turned the dial to that “••-“ setting, was it necessary to still push the button to make some come out? TYSM for answering this question & for making these instructional videos!!! ♥️🙏🏻♥️ It’s scary the 1st time, even AFTER reading the instructions multiple x’s! @nh5er237 , (Sorry I had another question for you!) I was wondering if you’ve had any side effects so far? My Dr prescribed my starting dose at .5mg (instead of .25) & I’m scared off side effects! 😔 About to take my 1st shot now, got my 🤞🤞!

@frankmazza1977 the only thing I can say is be very mindful of what you eat it will curb your appetite for sure but just don't eat a cheeseburger and you can't digest it because the gpL1 delays digestion so it sits in your tummy and you will feel bloated get heartburn so eat clean ♥️
I primed my pen the first time and the fluid shot all over my rug! Needless to say I disposed of the Ozempic in the trash! Need to tell the consumers this pen has problems!! Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺
I recommend to take it right before bed, and if you are worried about nausea, my patients take a gravol with it. If you work M-F, I often say to take it Friday night.
They are all multiuse pens. The 0.25mg and 0.5mg pens each contain 2 mg total, so that is 4 doses at 0.25mg and 2 doses at 0.5mg if you are just starting out. We just posted a short video soon about the different dose pens, so check that out! ruclips.net/user/shortsjCi5laPOG5o?feature=share
I restarted using it after my first run with Ozempic for diabetes, made me very sick But there’s some thing that no doctor can explain. They are pretty baffled by it and I wondered if anyone here could understand this. I only turned the pen, three clicks and inject. It’s literally probably barely any medicine but for some reason it’s working no doctors can figure out how because I had such a bad experience last time. I’m very leery of using very much and for whatever reason three tiny clicks is all injecting. Has anyone else done this or heard of this? Thank you.
Hoping that the people using Ozempic are diabetic. I am diabetic and use this medication. I OFTEN have trouble getting my prescription refilled because of shortage. Shortage is due to it being used as a weight loss drug. I have a couple diabetic friends who have the same problem! Very frustrating and somewhat scary.
Wow, I am surprised you still have a shortage, that is not an issue with any of my patients. As I am sure you know, obesity is a chronic disease, just like diabetes. You will also be fully aware that this medication has been approved by the FDA for weight loss. There are very few medications approved to treat obesity, while there are countless medications approved for diabetes. I am so glad you have so many options. Take care.
Ozempic has not been made for weightloss, but Wegovy HAS been made specifically for weightloss. My Doctor said Doctors have been advised not to prescribe Ozempic since that is specifically made for diabetics. Wegovy comes with higher dosages than ozempic since it has been made for weightloss
@@juliec2999Wegovy is not yet available in Canada so that irrelevant here. Ozempic and Wegovy are exactly the same chemical compound. Ozempic is approved for use at 2mg weekly, which is just slightly less than the 2.4 mg dose in Wegovy. It is frequently prescribed safely for weight loss, just like many other medications originally developed for one disease are found to be beneficial for others!

Unfortunately, the 1mg dose pen doesn't have any other markings on it to indicate any other dose. We suggest checking with your pharmacist to see if there is a way use your pen for a lower dose. Cheers!
It starts @ .25 mg. Follow your Drs. instructions & work your way up as prescribed. This way you can watch for adverse side effects or possible drug allergy.
NO if your Dr specifically prescribed 1mg use 1mg per week and it will also tell you how many doses you have ex: 1mg X 4....your doctor instructions are clearly written on the prescription in how he wants you to use it. Also you can prime and use the same needle to administer the medication....with the 1mg each needle represents the amount of medicine you have so don't waste a needle just to prime.
@@watkinsmetabolic thank you love! I found it. I was hesitating because of the needle and just wanted the dose. 😂 Day 3 AMAZING! I'm not sick, I feel fantastic and using the Metformin for a year prior, along with intermediate fasting and low carbs has me flying through this. I think starting with Metformin eating healthy PRIOR to starting this medication would eliminate tons of the bad side effects. My doctor insists on step up along with healthy eating. I see why!!! It's huge he did it correctly and I was mad but thankful now! Thanks hon. Good videos
So glad you have such a great foundation before starting this medication! IF plus low carb for the win :) Hope you have further success but sounds like you are doing awesome already!
Thanks....you made it simple & I did see your other video on how to inject myself.

Hi do you need to prime it with every new needle or onley the first time you use it?
Only when you start a new pen, not each time you change needles.

Hi, you should be ok, cause each pen does have a little bit extra fluid it in for this purpose, to avoid wasting a dose.

@@78cheerio do you mean how to count clicks?
Do you have to prime each week? Or just the initial first time? I am so confused. So much comes out each time I prime.
No, you only prime when you start a new pen. It is normal to see a small drop at the end of the pen each week before your injection.

By any chance does anyone know if a certain time a day to take the injection is best ?

What if i forget to prime the pen
While it's recommended, it's not completely necessary. If you pen doesn't function, it won't deliver medication and won't return to zero.
