Wonderful video. I absolutley loved the suspensful drone in the background. It helped to keep me focused and interested. Not that I needed any help staying interested. Masterful build on a very useful DIY tool that everyone should build for themselves.
Nice to hear. I use it all the time, it really works. If i could change something, i would try to find a little bit stronger (or longer) spring, but also with this one, it holds pretty good.
last movement is great. i think you made the button because the ruler fits loose. and that is because with hand, its almost impossible to make a perfect channel. same thing happened to me and i solved the issue by putting a cut credit card between the upper and lower parts, while giving a gap for the ruler. it worked well.

That's a good question.. at that moment, i didn't have yet any work tables in my small room. Now i finally have :-). It wasn't that bad, but my knees were suffering.
Unique idea. Thanks for sharing
This is a unique and brilliant idea! Thanks for sharing. I have been searching for something like this. Will make it for my home woodworking shop now.
I've been looking for one of these with a self-locking mechanism for a long time!
Thank you for sharing your method.
Gracias maestro, muy practica la herramienta y de sencillo uso.

Great locking mechanism
Très beau travail et bien détaillé merci !!!
Now that is a great idea! I think anything than can be use “one handed” needs a gold stat. 🌟

Thank You 😊
I love it! Looks easy. I bet my local home improvement store has a spring that will fit over a bowl.
thanks for relaxing sound
I like simple good ideas... Really like the push button feature instead of a knob. Going to make one now.

Yes, mine is of course not as tight as it would be with the screw, but so far it's been working fine.
Me too. I think it's perfect as well.
Well done, I haven't seen that one before.
Thanks for the comment. I found one version done with the magnet, which is also different than a "normal" screw.

Thank you for your comment. My version works good only, because the spring is as strong as possible.

Nice
Compricado né?
Превосходный )
Were did you purchase your ruler
I bought mine from our local Bauhaus. They have 30cm and 100cm versions. It's called Wisent. I don't know, if they have those in every Bauhaus.
Моментально износятся боковые грани малой площади!
Why are you working on the floor?

APPALUSI!

To big and bulky more like a mallet than a marking gauge.
I've been using it much, in some cases, i hoped it to be even bigger.
