Definitely agree that it’s outrageous to have to pay at the medical tent, especially inflated prices when you’ve got no choice. Seems very fair to me to add a bit onto the ticket price to cover the costs.
I will say, with no disrespect to Ben, I do miss the more relaxed, chatty natural format of this podcast from when Dan was in charge.
This current format and the frequent discussion of ideas for it etc often makes me feel like I’m in a meeting.
There’s no way on earth this is okay, Download were paying for the medical provider including any treatment required for patients. This is not how event medical cover works!

on the note of food hygiene, e-coli lives in soil, all it takes is one muddy member of staff to drag it through the kitchen to contaminate everything (trust me, 8+ years as a chef, and yes vendors can absolutely be prosecuted)
Jack is talking about Czech goulash I think and the polish soup bread thing is called zurek, if anyone is wondering.
Goulash is gorgeous - I had amazing goulash in Bratislava

I bet the problem with the yorkie place was to do with the gravy, people don’t realise how ill it can make you when not up to temperature or reheated..

Bunny chow is a South African dish from the Durban area. its bread filled with curry not a chilli. it started as a blue collar easy to pick and go meal. huge fan of tpd.
Agree with the lads here, the festival itself is a very solid 7, but that is everything you need to experience the bands and when you bring a good squad (as I had this year), the festival makes it easy to build on and push to a 10
My friend and I ordered exactly the same food, at exactly the same time, from the exactly the same chippy and only I got sick. The only difference was she said it looked gone off so I ate hers as well.
My tent was about 50mtrs from the doghouse..i gave up on sleep till 3am and just did doghouse every night. Its easier than fighting it😂

Danny is catching on with the hiking backpack, I've been doing it for years. They are so much better than shitty normal backpacks or carrying stuff with your hands, if you set the straps up right they are literally designed to carry 65l+ of gear on your back on a proper hike. Also a big fan of the Quechua blackout tents but go for poled rather than popup, they pack away so much better and if you break a pole you can get replacements from Decathlon.
Me and my mate tried the women’s urinals for the first time this year. Totally converted. Didn’t have to queue the entire weekend and the bonus is you don’t have to touch anything. Also gave you a great view of the stage 😂🤘🏻

Download will have paid the event medical provider handsomely to cover the event. Any event medical provider worth their weight knows this isn’t how it works. Charging patients for treatment is not okay. I’d love to know who the medical provider was for Download.

This works way better when the host has watched the video and has an idea of the points the audience might be interested in hearing more about, great stuff Ben! I've always watched and enjoyed the pod regardless of host, it's always great, but sometimes it got a bit repetitive going over what we've already seen in the main vid. Great format, can't wait for the next one!

Couldn’t agree more with Dan about IPA’s.
I went to Nova rock and it sounds just like rock for people. There was flushing toilets that were cleaned and sinks and soap to wash your hands with. Even the portaloos were better. They had those toilets in the glamping area and also in the main arena general admission. I’m so done with uk festivals now. Although I have to say download the last few year download toilets have been fine. Even last year in 2023 the download toilets were absolutely fine and I barely had to queue.
Download 2022 and 2023 toilets we're fine in camp and in arena but seeing it this year with the queues like how can you get it wrong after you have been doing this for over 20 years a bit of a joke

Says ermmm 9/10 times he speaks, kills the flow of conversations, has no interesting topics. Asked us to send things in but doesn’t really know what he wants and guaranteed he has no plan what or when to ask what we send. Made a ranking system that makes no sense.. I like Ben but giving him the reigns on this is not the one if they want to grow the podcast/second channel

When I got festival food poisoning my mate ate at exactly the same 2 vendors as me that day and was alright whereas I was fucked, so yeah def understand you can have multiple people at 1 vendor and not everyone gets food poisoning. Also it was Spain so I think I just got dead unlucky cos it was campylobacter not ecoli.
