I just ordered that Tundra rod for my Quantum Opix 80 reel
It is a great rod still haven’t it don’t use it as much as I don’t fish that way much but great for the price!
i bought a 15' and put a diawa df100a with 100lb braid and a 8/0 circle hook. cant wait to go catfishing in the spring.

Sorry for the delay I do believe it just ceased up and it wasn’t really worth the money to fix it but rather get another one.
Cheap rods and reels always seem to end up trashed while my Penn, Akios, and Shimano gear soldiers on for decades.
You definitely get what you pay for that’s for sure

I’m getting a size 50 combo of this. Do you think it will do well with fish on the west coast like leaped sharks and rays they will be max 25 pounds
Appreacite the comment I can’t quiet remember the size of the reel but I do remember this was a 11 foot rod I’m pretty sure and if it it’s the same size I’ve caught plenty of fish in that size category from sharks rays and redfish
@@lethallure6260 ok thanks I believe the one you have is a 80 size it’s just confusing for the 50 size because they recomend 6-14 pound line and yet it’s a surf rod equivalent to a 5000 reel which should handle more
@@marcol3756 gotcha your probably right that is odd that it would be that light but me personally I just send it and try and if nothing else it will be a fund fight

What size reel or what model # is it. I use a quantum reel but it doesn't look as big

radcop4u first off I greatly appreciate your comment!!! I have used this one which I’m pretty sure off the top of my head is a 12 and it’s my lucky rod. The reel has long since broken and ive had to fix a couple guides but that was consistently one of the rods that I caught 40 inch reds, big 50+ stingrays, small 3-4’ sharks. Depending on your weight line and momentum of cast will determine your distance but I can get it if I had to guess 100 yards give or take. Would you like me to make a video on casting distance?
