Hey just wanted to say that I just flipped my first two mowers and I'm already addicted. I don't have a lot of time - this is just a side hustle for the evenings and weekends as I have a day job but I'm learning so much already and teaching my kids these skills as well. My first mower was listed for FREE on marketplace, a 140cc Powermore, and all that ended up being wrong with it was the spark plug was loose so it wasn't getting any compression. My second mower I bought for $25, a 125cc Briggs, and I cleaned out the plastic briggs carb jets and it ran like started right up. These two mowers made me $150 profit in one week and I'm evenutally hoping to scale it up to $1000/month in extra cash. Love the channel. Subscribed!
@@waholoopesorry74 This is awesome, man! I’m so glad to hear it! I’m sure your kids are (or will be) grateful for the education. The newer generation needs it without a doubt. 🤣 More videos coming soon!
Hey Graham is that a 3/8” drive cordless ratchet? I just picked up a mower and have a 1/4” impact drive and a 3/8” stubby impact from Milwaukee but was thinking of the cordless ratchet, debating on grabbing the 1/4” or 3/8” drive to speed stuff up and use it for on my truck in tighter spots than my stubby, what do you suggest? I mostly by Milwaukee right now since I’m just a DIYer
@@devmike9376 It is indeed! Just your average autozone knockoff of a name brand- 🤣 Worth every penny though. It’s super nice when it comes to the small crevices and feels heavier duty than a 1/4”.
Got a question for ya ! I have a petrol mower , pretty new , hardly used but is used a couple of times a year, assuming the spark plug is good, fuel good, oil good , mechanics "should" be good! then why the hell is it so hard to start...I mean we nearly threw it out because it just wouldn't turn over , you can yank the cord 100 times and there isn't even a hint that it's going to start but like magic if we pull the shroud off the top which houses the pull cord and put it back on it starts!. This thing badly needs an electric starter it's like 175cc i think.
I’m having a hard time understanding what you mean, you’re saying it won’t turn over but you take the cover off and it turns over fine? Which cover are you talking about? My best guess at an engine that had a hard time/wont turn over (but isn’t seized, and had good lubrication) would be something with the valves not letting off compression.
@@grahamsgarage176 Yo, so after i prime the fuel with the button I pull the cord as hard as i can and it spins but its like the motor doesn't even attempt to turn over, no sputter no smoke nothing , pull it again and it just spins with the force i used to pull but nothing else, pull again and its the same and so on , sorry if you're not getting what I'm saying I don't know how else to explain it! :D.
Carb float is sticking and not allowing fuel into the bowl. Fix is: from operator position push down on handle toward ground then raise handle and "smack" the front wheels on the ground. Do this a couple of times. Not too hard: just enough to get the carb bowl to drop to low position so fuel will flow into the bowl. When you are pulling the shroud off to look at what's going on you are probably jostling the carb enough to free the stuck float.
Take off the air filter. Squirt a little gasoline into the carburetor. If the engine starts and runs for a few seconds, ignition is okay, it's a fuel air problem=carburetor. Make sure air filter is clean. Clean carb, if that fails, purchase new carb online for 12-20 USD, typically an easy install, take photos before you remove to assure you get the linkage together properly. Good luck sir.
