2025 VA COLA Increase: What to Expect for Your Veterans Benefits
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 июл 2024
- The 2025 VA COLA increase is projected to be around 3.2%, based on estimates from the Congressional Budget Office. This increase is in line with recent trends, as there have been consistent COLA increases for VA benefits over the past few years.
This increase is important for veterans, as it helps to offset the impact of inflation on their benefits. Inflation can erode the purchasing power of a fixed income over time, making it crucial for COLA increases to keep pace with rising costs.
00:00 Introduction
00:59 What types of veterans benefits are tied to 2025 VA Cola?
3:56 2025 VA Special Monthly Compensation Rates
6:18 2025 VA Disability Pay Rates (Projected)
11:33 How is the 2025 VA COLA Increase Calculated?
12:23 2025 VA COLA Increase Pay Dates
The 2025 VA COLA increase will affect various types of VA benefits, including disability compensation, pensions, and survivor's benefits. It is important for veterans to understand how this increase may impact their specific benefits and plan accordingly.
In addition to the 3.2% COLA increase, there may also be other changes in store for VA benefits in 2025. This could include adjustments to the income threshold for certain benefits or updates to eligibility criteria. It is important for veterans to stay informed about any potential changes and how they may affect their benefits.
While a 3.2% increase may seem small, it can make a significant difference in the lives of veterans who rely on these benefits. For example, a veteran receiving $1,500 per month in disability compensation would see an additional $48 per month with the 2025 COLA increase. Over the course of a year, this amounts to an extra $576 in income - which can make a considerable impact for those living on a fixed budget.
It's also worth noting that the 2025 VA COLA increase is just an estimate and may be subject to change depending on economic conditions. If inflation rates are lower than expected, the COLA increase may be adjusted accordingly. On the other hand, if inflation rates are higher than projected, there is a possibility of a larger COLA increase.
In conclusion, while the 2025 VA COLA increase may seem insignificant at first glance, it is an important factor in ensuring that veterans receive adequate support for their service to our country. As we approach 2025, it is important for veterans to stay informed about any potential changes to their benefits and plan accordingly. Let us continue to honor and support our veterans by ensuring they receive the benefits they deserve.

We need another 8-9% increase like a couple years ago😂
I agree! That one was awesome!
I don't see this happening again anytime soon. Lol
More unnecessary “Current “ Government spending/ inflation and we’ll get at least 7%
If they included everything 18 to 19% just to break even and that wouldn't even be enough
Been fighting since 2015. Went from 70, 80 and now 90% and they owe me 6 years of back pay. Never give up! Thanks Combat Craig!
🤠🤠
6 years how is that?
I can’t say enough how great it is to have you helping veterans!
Thanks Janice!
Helped me and countless Veteran's get our deserved rate .
CC is awesome as a person and what he does
That would be great
Fought with the VA since being rated at 10% in 1988. Worked my way up to 80% by 2021. VA messed up a knee replacement, service connected, after that I put in a claim for 100% IU. Much to my surprise I was awarded 100% P&T. As you said, medical evidence was the key.
3.2% I'd an absolute joke.... We need about 25% just to keep pace with the crazy ass inflation
Inflation is 3.27. It’s dropped since last month. The high price you’re experiencing is from corporate greed. These companies have not lowered their prices that reflect the actual inflation so the problem is not inflation. It is corporate greed.
@@Kenbot2
The rate has decreased…unless you have negative inflation the damage is done though.
@@thomasb4467 I agree the damage is done. However, there is no excuse that these companies should not be lowering their prices. They need to quit blaming inflation. I do know there is still some supply channel shipping issues.
@@Kenbot2 Exactly, these companies are gouging the crap out of us and blaming inflation and the government. People should google the corporate profits of these companies year to year and they can see for themselves how they are making themselves and their shareholders richer. McDonalds nearly doubled the cost of a few of their combo meals and blamed the increase in their cost of goods, yet their annual profits have been up 10% each year for the past two years.
@@Kenbot2 What’s your source(s)? The inflation percentage you mentioned is way off.

I went from 30 to 80%. I was paid 7 years of back pay. I have 3 remanded and have completed 1 C&P exam and have another one on the 24th of this month. On the road to 100%🎉

I joined your boot camp last year and I must say tons of good info to educate myself and my wife about the claims process. After a few tries, my wife and I were successful in getting her claims increased and she is now 100% T&P. Thanks Combat Craig! Also, I have not seen much videos in the topic of filing for travel to/from VA appointments using the BTSSS website. We live about 73 miles round trip from our main VA facility here in AZ and we file after every appointment as it ends up being around $32 per appointment. I mean even the short trip to our CBOC pays out about $6. Any chance you have done a video on this topic or can do additional videos?
I was told that they pay from the closes location to your house so if there’s a small hole in the wall clinic they’ll pay you from there. Not from the location you actually drive to! It’s a total scam
Your the best CC
Thanks Larry🤠
I was medically separated with a severance pay. I was able to receive the V1/V3 code to get it with tax free payment. The VA also rated me at 100% P&T start out the army.
The fact that we might end up with less than a 3% COLA increase next year is absolutely insane 😂
I'm betting on 2.7. I know a lot of people were happy about congress tying VA COLA to Social Security, but that wasn't a good thing. SS COLA doesn't keep pace with real cost of living and now our Disability Compensation (I hate calling it benefits) won't either.
What's the cost of nexus letter.
It's good when no other cola was in place...
I'm now at 90 percent but the struggle is real
Hang in there it took me 13 years to get there
Just started my va claims, I've been out for 6 years but i started medical treatments i have diagnoses and gathered all medical evidence and got nexus letters from my doctors and submitted all of it, so we will see how this goes. Got my first c&p exam coming up next week for tinitis. Then migraines (tied to tinitis as a secondary claim), then last will be the mental health exams for dep/axi.
We should get the same increase to match the congress pay raises.
3.2% is a joke and pretty much an insult
Craig, or really anyone. Do you think they will pass the Caring for Survivors bill?
They also changed how clothing allowance is paid. If you have been receiving it in the past you no longer have to submit a clothing allowance form. They pay amount is based on past level payments.
💯💯
93%....currently at higher level review level (the struggle is real)
The proposed increase does not adjust in reality. The true cost of living has not only gone up by 3.2%, but a better estimate shows it closer to about a 7% cost of living increase this year. We are constantly being shorted in this regard. The only COLA that came close to compensating this increase was that last big one, but the others are merely paying lip service to those increases in the cost of living. With every shortage in the COLA, we fall further behind in buying power in the aggregate. These shortfalls are combining almost exponentially over time. Why are we being screwed so consistently? That was rhetorical, so no answer is necessary.
This number leaves out gas prices, grocery costs etc. We should ask for a different measure stick..
Craig will you please help pass the word about the VA s care givers program, it will help out a lot of other disabled veterans, a great program and the pay out is great for the care giver
And not hard to do the form ( online) they get back to you real fast
Disabled veterans from Vietnam 68-70
Where can we find a copy of this chart?
I really don't think the pay increase matches the inflation
Not even close!
SMC-M= "You may receive an SMC-M designation if any of these situations are true for you: You've had both hands amputated, or. You've had one hand amputated, and have lost the use of the other hand"
Where can I find which SMC rate I am currently receiving? I've looked on my Award Benefit letter it simply says I'm being paid SMC but does not clarify which one?
I only got a 10% increase from my claim for quite a few issues, and I believe it had to do with the questions I was asked during the interview and the dates I gave what can I do to fight for these issues that I was denied disability for?
SF BROTHER!!
🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thanks ❤
You're welcome 😊
I’m currently sitting at 80% fighting for that last 20%. Any suggestions?
If it were really based on inflation and the cost of living we’d be getting a 22% raise rather than a 2.2% raise.
I feel like they say 3.2 every year to start
Nobody really knows but we will see these "projection" videos every month until this fall because they're good for easy clicks. The real numbers won't be released until October.
Will we still have an effective dollar?
What if you were left undiagnosed, or misdiagnosed?
100 p&t first time go 👍🏽
Craig, how do I get the payment for the TBI? Thank you in advance. ✊
What is really needed is individual State COLA too. I live in California and homeowners insurance almost tripled this year.
Get out of CA....I did...
I have only 10% rating for a benign precondition. Could your boot camp help someone like me??
What they gonna get? Hope they get more than the elderly get on SSI...3.2% cola is the inflation rate for the old tryin to make it.
What does it take to get a permanent rating? I am currently at 90% but not permanent. I am getting ready to file a bunch of the little nit picky items in hopes of pushing my rating up to 100%. My current claims are sleep apnea, chronic lower back pain, sciatica/with bulging disk(L5-S1), shoulder joint pain, knee joint pain, and diarea/hemmroids. I have done all my own filing, luckily I have been able to upload my own medical documents to get where I am at now. Greatly appreciate the videos of knowledge!
File tdiu
Almost in the same boat as you when it comes to currently filed conditions. Also at 90%. Keep pushing and smartly make sure your effective dates are correct. The VA raters messed up and I went through HLR, just received 4 years backpay. Working on little things will push us into the hundo! Never give up! 😁🤞🏼💯

Thanks to you combat Craig!! Because of you I was able to garner the hundo club.
My question to you is should I receive all care from VA or have a primary doctor do all care? Letter was sent asking me for another blood draw and update where care is held.
Your welcome! Just make sure your records are up to date so you are able to defend your rating if they challenge their decision
What if they just deny the legitimate medical records???
They do it daily. Appeal their bullshit decision man!
I can't understand why anyone that has a rating should get travel pay to the VA, it cost me taking my wife to the VA but djr gets nothing
They said cola is 2.5 percent last time I heard
Do you know where I can learn more about champva? We are new to it and it’s been frustrating. No provider listing, submitted claims talking about 3 months with no response and reimbursement, etc
I developed liver scerosis after my drinking started in the military. Any chance for me to be helped?
Still to early to oresict accuratly probably 3% to 3.5% would be my guess July august septembers numbers
I'm 85, last Oct VA stopped paying me, After several months of emails, Ask VA, Phone Calls I found they wanted proof I was alive. I sent that in and my benefits were restarted this year but not for my wife and adopted daughter. While all this was going on I questioned why I received 10% for shrapnel wound left foot but 0% for right foot. Also why 20% for gunshot wound spine but 0% for gunshot wound Jaw, Several other "Pending" I asked about but never got a reply. I was in VN with 5th SFG 63,64,65,66, 68 thru 70 I have a DSC, SS, PH's etc.
RIP😢
Wish VA had cost of living pay if you live in a high cost of living states. I'm TDIU P&T living in Colorado. I share parenting time for 2 kids so I can't leave state. And like it here minus cost of living.
How do I know if I'm p&t?
Do me a quick favor in answering this. In my VA jacket I'm diagnosed with chronic vertigo. I want to claim vertigo. As a secondary to tinnitus. Do I need a dbq? Or nexus letter?
@@comm2531 yes go to a private doctor, explain how tinnitus is causing chronic vertigo and ask them to write you a nexus letter. The Va may send you to a c&p exam to determine what percentage they will rate you at for the secondary condition
“m” is for Mike.
What does the va supplemental claims says your claim was closed today?
I'm a little bit confused on the dependent section for compensation. I'll be getting married later this year to a woman with 2 kids, over 18, and enrolled in college full-time. I'm at the 100% pay rate. What would my monthly rate be with the three of them added?
Should be around $4400
@privateyes2689 Thanks! I thought somehow it would be more. Not bad, but 3 extra mouths ...
$1488 to them for school, in the states ( less if living overseas).
Utilize Combat Craig you won't regret it.

Wait! I'm not getting $400 per month for SMC!
How would I go about speaking to you directly?
Lets see. If they continue -5% pay increase for a few more years I will be able to move from this old one bedroom apartment and into that cardboard box I have been waiting for.
What about DIC ?

No way to know what it will be this early, rates could change a lot still
I'm getting paid at 100 percent. But I'm rated at 90 percent how do I get into the hundred club?
Your already in there👍
@@CombatCraig but 100 numerical is not exactly the same as IU. There's an additional income cap on IU that isn't present for vets who are at a numerical 100% rating.
