Hello, I was meshing a 3D wing and while inflation was being created it says, "The inflation mesher cannot finish. Check that the inflation parameters are reasonable and that the height is not larger than the element size". If you have any answer for that plz
My cl and cd values resemble closely to literature values. However when i check my y+ value, it's more than a 100? is it still acceptable for the cl and cd? And sometimes when i do inflation for the y value using cfd calc, my geometry mesh elements break into pieces, why?
hi in the inlet boundary condition if i change the angle of attack by change the directional @t below for example X-direction 1 Y-direction 0 which is 0 angle of attack. right? X-direction 0.97814760073 Y-direction 0.20791169081775931 which is 12 degree angle of attack. right? if i change the AOA, do i have to change the axis for the life and drag?
This again a nice video. I would like to ask a query about the suggested turbulence model Spalart-Almarah. It is proven to give good results over airfoils. Is it true only when fluid is air, or can we expect the same when the fluid is water? Please reply. Thanks
Thank you! When the fluid is water, it would mean that viscous effects and the resulting wall shear stresses are orders of magnitude higher. Hence, the boundary layer would be thinner as well. It would be recommended to use the k-omega turbulence model in that situation. The k-w turbulence model has the most accurate near-wall function models.

Thank you Sir for your reply. While doing mapped face meshing in AF zone the following error shows" All cell zones in Fluent may be automatically set to Fluid". What is the reason for not getting mapped mesh. Sir waiting for your reply.

Yes , you need to change Cl&Cd component according to your AOA.
My wall y+ value is in the range of 0.5 for Spalart Allmaras is it accurate?
if i simulate 3D winglet, has it the same setup with your video?
Spalart allmaras weak for 3d flows.

Make the lines A-F and then use Face Split
you can also try without line C and see what happens.

It is not an error, just change your geometry to Fluid
