Between the Everse 8 and the JBL Eon MkII, What would you recommend for a comic that needs a backup for venues that are... less prepared than they thought?
That should've been a very stressed day for you, dealing with that guy, but I think you did the right thing when talking to the bride about it. A few days ago I was not really sure about which speaker to choose: The bose 1 or the Everse 8, so I ended buying the Everse 8 and NO REGRETS AT ALL. This tiny speaker has a lot of power for it's size, I'm planning to get a second one pretty soon. So if anybody reads this comment, believe me, I'm not exaggerating... I,ve had QSC's, JBL's, Cerwin Vega's, (bigger ones), but this little one can easily compete with those big brands. The best part for me is that when playing on battery mode (not plugged in to the wall) it still has that great, powerful and clean sound. Amazing speaker!! 🔊
Great vid. Interested to hear about the theater sounding lapel mic you referenced. I have run into issues with ceremonies and now thinking about a complete overhaul to the system I use by going with an everse-8 and a comparable mic system. I also checked out your DJ list and it's a great reference. Thanks for your vids man.
My daughter plays ukulele and sings. I play guitar and sing. I’ve been thinking about a battery powered pa for a long time. What are your thoughts with Everse vs Jbl eon one mkII? I’ll pay more of the Jbl is worth $400 more. I’d just like to have a great sounding portable setup for busking, looping and practice. Thanks. Great wedding story btw. Need more DJs like you.
@@AaronStrawn Yeah that’s tough. I would probably need more channels. My guitar, her ukulele and vocals for both of us (4 channels). If we want to play together, then I guess my only option is the JBL. Maybe I’ll get both and use the Everse as a monitor lol. Then if she needs to use a speaker for herself she can just take the Everse! Thanks for the speedy reply!!
MK2 is a huge step up if you are looking for full range sound! The 10 inch woofer sounds like a subwoofer in comparison. Mids also sound fuller. EV has a slightly cleaner high end. Mk2 has better room filling dispersion. JBL has a 7 year warranty! I would only go with EV for weight, size, and better App.
@@AaronStrawnOh I'm sure it's not going to be! Don't worry it happens to us too sometimes - luckily infrequently. Nothing against it but we're there to do 3-4 hours of live sound and you're there to DJ 😎
Hey Aaron, great video! Quick question, what are the tray shelves you are using on the speaker stand? Any links? I am looking at the Audio2000'S AST423Z, but may be too big. Thank you!
In the ceremony clip, how was the iPad routed to speaker? Bluetooth? Was there enough gain for the mic for the officiant? I generally run a small Mackie board so I can adjust gain/eq quickly
Can't imagine having the nerve to have an outdoor ceremony in the snow lol. Great video. I'm strongly considering upgrading from the JBL EON ONE Compact to the EV Everse 8 for battery powered gigs this year.
Hey Aaron, cool video. I've found running a wireless mic with the speaker and receiver located behind guests at the ceremony, same as the start of the video, has caused me major crackling interference when everyone stands up with their phones out, has that ever been an issue for you ? Love your channel.
I've had that happen and I think I don't anymore for a couple reasons. I am using an expensive mic/receiver (I hope that's why lol) and Half Wave antennas. One other thing, always scan the space your are in. Could be other interfering signals around. Wireless is a gamble for sure, but I think there are ways to get it to sound great.
@@toneranger I’m using the new Sennheiser digital mics. I got a shelf for the speaker pole. Sits on that. Once the Everse tray is out in black I’m gonna get that
Nice one @Aaron , I'm using the DB tech hype battery powered speaker, not much well but the wireless mic inside is pretty sturdy, but the odd bit of interference though

Way to handle yourself. Always stay cool. Everyone you interact with is a potential client. I see s many DJs on here who blow their top on guests, venue staff, etc. Not a good look. Also, Everse 8 is a near-perfect ceremony speaker. Just wish it had knobs for quick eq-ing. But the DSP is ok.
For the guy who wanted to steal the show; I know what you're talking about and you were perfectly right to kick 'Mr. Spoil' away after asking the bride.
Dammit Aaron! You know how often I watch your videos and then buy something? Everse 8 arrives Saturday. The app and DSP are...wow...especially the ducking as I use two lavs...this should eleminate comb filtering. I didn't know it would do that. And compression and low cut presets. SOLD! Really looking forward to this and a much smaller and lighter ceremony rig.
I was doing a strict Christian wedding when the sister of the bride requested a Bad Bunny song that was of course inappropriate. I refused to play it because I was not going to make one family member happy and piss off everyone else. I later pulled the bride aside and asked her what she wanted to do. She said I could play that type of music after she and the groom left. I know the money is in wedding’s but I just don’t like the extra pressure and personalities you have to deal with. Great video as always 👍
At home, I can't even turn up the volume on the main remote control by half. It's too loud for a room of 28 m2.
