I'm glad Molly and Darlene reconciled before Molly's passing
I think Molly died.
This is a shit show of its former self so who really cares about Darlene?
The woman seemed way more concerned with the casserole dish than with Molly's death just the day before.
She probably has grieved already when they figured out it was terminal, sometimes you have to accept the most terrible things and learn how to move on from them. Even though she had only passed the night before she probably already went through the five stages of grief and had to accept that her baby was going to die
When you get right down to it, there is no right or wrong way to grieve; you just do. Sometimes people don't show their feelings publicly when they are grieving; they would rather do so in private. As Lance said, sometimes when a death is expected, you go through the stages where eventually you accept it before it happens.
She literally says "we have been prepared for this along time!" So she's been grieving before she died
Sometimes, when you know someone is on limited time, you come to terms with them dying before they die. You are still sad when they are gone, but you emotionally prepare yourself. You think about what it will be like without them. You may even imagine they are already gone and grieve. Then when it actually happens, while you are still sad, you aren't devastated. Plus, it is a sitcom still so... ya know...
@@WiGgYof09 Thank you. I am no stranger to grief. Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt.
As I recall Molly & her sister didn't have a mom. The dad was a widower raising her and her sister by himself.
Ty Charlotte and Molly's father move them to Landford after his wife died.
Given the amount of time between that and when this is set this could be a Step-Mom. The dad could have remarried.
+Anne:actually they do it’s just mentioned that the mom died on them at some point making their dad a widower and he could have remarried at some point which would be gaining them a step mom. It just depends on if their dad ever remarried after being widowed at some point in their lives
Yea
@@TheLastSane1 Well that would kindof explain why Molly's mom wasnt too broken up about Molly's death. Maybe she wasn't a very caring type of step mom.
Damn. So much death on this show. It should be called "The Croakers".
😆😆😆
The show is too depressing for me to watch. Not like the original Roseanne at all, and besides, that show was funny
So much? Only 3 characters have been killed off. Roseanne, Ed Senior, and Molly.
The Gonners
it's what happens when you get older
The writers seem to have no idea what to do with any of the characters. They just keep sending each of them in 20 different directions. Now, they bring Molly back and kill her 3 scenes later.
Except they do know what to do with the characters. Showrunner Bruce Helford was interviewed regarding this storyline.
I watched that Conners Episode I think it was s a great mixture of comedy and a serious perspective how you can know death can happen to someone you known for a long time...
well, to be fair, in real life things do happen that way at times. So it IS close to reality in a way. LOL
@Sara Mill ALL deaths aren't miserable. For MANY, death is a welcome reprieve from the pain and suffering being ALIVE served them.
@@montgomerycamjr more like death is natural and apart of the circle of life since Dan died in the original series but the spin off series decided to kill off Roseanne Instead and kept Dan Alive. They also took out Fred and Andy especially Andy since Andy really doesn’t exist any more and who truly actually knows where Fred is now.so the writers clearly know what they are doing since they also killed off Ed Dan’s dad.
Don’t bring old, beloved characters back just to kill them off
I completely agree with you!
Yeah that was so bad
With out Roseanne's guidance this show is doom lol
Who is Molly
Was molly really beloved? Come on. Really?
I started to cry when she said that Molly passed away.
Walk me through this. You bring back a character only to kill her off. And the scene of this reveal ends in a joke about a fucking casserole dish?
It don't make sense to me either
Yeah..... it went from heartbreaking to pettiness real quick....... I thought, "Wow, they're about to have a moment--" and then...... casserole dish.......
The writing isn't the same like the old show
Yeah... it didn't seem fitting...
The show had some awesome scenes, but this aint it.
I thought Molly was being raised by a single father. When they took the road trip in the original series Rosanne was trying to get Jacky to talk to the father. Where did a mom come from?
Exactly and before the Conners took a road trip with the Tildens Molly's father Ty explains to Dan in the episode of good girls bad girls that Molly was a handful especially after her mother died.
@@LaraCroftEyes1, they think that the audience forgets!
Theres a long time skip between that ep and the Connors the father probably remarried.
She was.
Exactly
Sad to see what this has become. The show was best in the old days.
2 years later still miss Roseanne and Molly bur they made the old bat grandma live
So many upset about how Molly was killed off, whereas I'm still sad about what happened to Danielle Harris as Jamie Lloyd in the Halloween sequels.
They need to do a direct sequel to Halloween 5 and focus on Jamie and her kids. If they can forgot Laurie died in resurrection and reboot her storyline, they could forget Jamie died and reboot hers.
@@kayprivate2720 In the original Halloween 5, Jamie was going to become the killer
What a ball drop. Molly could've been so much more than just a one time character. She could have become a lunchbox employee or locally employed and would get lunch there. A character who became part of the fabric of the connors.
So many possible story lines that could have done so well. This was a screw up.
I seem to remember a Molly from the original series. She was the shy sister of the new neighbors who put the moves on Darlene's bf David.
@@pauladautremont1728 Molly wasn't shy, that was her overweight sister. Molly was the promiscuous one.
@@darkmask5933 Ahh ok. My memory was a little foggy on it. Thank you for clearing that up.🌺🌺
Uh, maybe she got another acting gig and simply had to take it.
Maybe she didn't want to come back?
They brought back Molly only to kill her off when she could’ve been a great addition to the show...
i seen this episode i went to get a drink from the fridge, and i missed her appearance,so when they were talking about her in this scene i thought it was a co-worker,anyway i hung in there till this episode but im done with it,it was good for a min but it might as well be seinfeld now cuz its a show about nothing
Yeah exactly? Why bring back some minor character out of nowhere only to let us know they died? I guess this is what life is like.
Ummmm I thought her mother died and Molly and her sister lived with their father....come on writers. Get ur shit together.
Agreed. I remember the episode where the two families went to Disneyland together, and Molly's widowed father kept flirting with Jackie. The writers could have at least taken the trouble to make Mrs. Tilden a stepmother rather than presenting her as Molly's mother.
That might have been her step mother if her Dad remarried..He needed a new WIfe someone to help him raise his kids..He worked all the time..
Now I totally got it wrong I thought the mother left the father with the 2 daughters.....ran off
The writers are out of touch with the audience and I'm afraid with out Roseanne's guidance this show is doom lol let's face it Roseanne show was better then this garbage lol
I don't think they actually ever said the mother died....I remember Ty saying he was raising the girls alone, but the mother could have just split and then they got back together. The thing that bugged me was the house the Tildon's lived in was the old Bowman house....which was the same model as the Conner house. The house on this clip in no way resembles the Conner house.
This episode made me realize, that if there’s ever an enemy or a rival you had growing up, let it go! Make up with that person. Because you never know what’s going to happen to them.
Her mother seemed more upset about the casserole dish than her daughter dying from cancer!🤷🏼♂️
They're sinking to The Simpsons style of humor.
"Gee Homer; ever since Maude died, I was WONDERIN' if you could darn-diddly bring back that casserole-dish we loaned you last Christmas; since it was HERS, and..."
"Oh, that was YOUR casserole dish? We just thought it was made by the FLANDERS corporation, and it was a Christmas present! Can you prove it WASN'T?"
Well they knew that it was happening. She mentally prepared for it. She's sad but when you yourself have accepted that your daughter will die. The tears aren't as rampant as they would be if this was a shock.
I mean to be fair they were cracking jokes the second they found out Roseanne's dad died
She might be in a state of shock.
Don’t blame her, blame the writing staff
Wow this scene was tonally all over the place. And I swear Darlene forgot how to act cuz her performance in that scene was god awful. “Oh my new friend died let’s make jokes about how we steal our neighbors stuff and sell it”
Thank you! You took the words right out of my mouth! What a disappointment, more convey was spent on that borrowed dish than on the learning of the loss...
it was not acted well at all considering the gravity of the news of this storyline;
I was like...are you kidding? That was really bad!!! 🤔💚*
@@GrasshopperRDG I don’t agree with what Roseanne said at all that lead to her termination, but she managed to write the show with a bit more bite than it did after she left and it felt more genuine. I’ve watched the conners here and there and it’s just one depressing thing after another. It’s so draining to watch
@@danielgalway8395
We happen to be in full agreement** on this recollection...I too appreciated past era episodes of Roseanne.
Also, I definitely feel that comedic timing and depth* of a theme was better portrayed in the past, unlike this example of Darlene's learning of the death of her friend. I really didn't care for it as a viewer. 💚*
@@danielgalway8395
Love her or hate her, Roseanne Barr was brilliant at balancing comedy and drama on her show. And The Connors just fails to capture it
This scene is complete tonal whiplash. And, worst of all, the joke about the casserole dish wasn't even funny.
@@MsBrendalina agree.
That new show was quite the buffer between “Tribute for recently deceased actor” and “Unexpected character reprisal gets equally unexpected death”
Which actor passed away?
It was a crew member
@@omarcogle1965 George Segal, Pops on The Goldbergs
@@anthonywyattStylist No, I’m not talking about that, I’m talking about the George Segal tribute that aired at the end of the episode of The Goldbergs.
@@DigiRangerScott I thought you were talking about someone from the Conners, not the Goldbergs.
Why is the mum not more devastated? I know she says they were prepared, but the acting should've been her unable to fight her tears!
She knew that her daughter was dying, maybe she keeping inside or got used to the idea of her daughter's death.
Mom
As someone who's battled cancer a few times myself...yeah you deal with it. It goes on and on and on and on and you don't know if you're going to die or not. Your parents/spouse deal with it in the times that they can - many of them handle the tough questions early on (are they really going to die? What will I do? How can I possibly function at all?) and when it's incurable or terminal then you are sort of forced to deal with it immediately. So the writers likely wrote her that way. The character intimated this in her lines, too. With mine, my mother and father both went through times where they couldn't handle it and times where they put on a brave face for me and my husband. Molly's mom's behavior makes sense with all this in consideration.
My mom died from brain cancer in 2019. She fought it for 8 and half years.
They did Danielle dirty!!
Wow I remember watching Roseanne and liked Danielle Harris and Molly's charter back then. When heard they were bringing her chacter back I was hoping she'd be a regular on the Connars. Then they just killed her off. So sad.😥
I love how people in the comments are complaining about how bad this show is but are still watching 🤔

So did mr tilden remarry cause in the original roseanne molly's dad was a widower
I’m guessing it’s an aunt since her last name was Tilden too “it had Tilden written on all 4 sides, it was my grandmothers”
@@Iceman-vp4ut well she could have written it to simply make sure she got it back
@@Iceman-vp4ut maybe just maybe she could be a stepmom named Mrs Tilden. Ty could have honestly remarried at some point. Since Darlene says you’ve been to our house before would you buy any of that crap? To mrs Tilden. The container could be have been The step moms grandmothers container yes but the name of the grandmother might not be a Tilden related name and Mrs Tilden could have just written Tilden on it to make sure the conners gave it back her grandmothers container to her. And also it might not be the aunt because Molly and Charlotte in the original Series along with Ty don’t mention if Ty has any siblings espeically not a sister let alone the two girls mentioning an aunt but it is somehow obvious that he lost his first wife Molly and Charlotte’s birth mother since he was widower.
@@mountaingalhomemaker4179 also the tildens don’t mention Molly and Charlotte having an aunt related to their dad in the original series and ty doesn’t mention having a sister. So it’s more likely mrs Tilden is a step mom the container was her grandmothers of a different last name and Mrs Tilden just wrote Tilden on it to make sure she got back her grandmothers dish. Since it is obvious that Ty Tilden lost his first wife aka Molly and charlotte’s birth mom somehow and the spin off series to me does make it seem obvious that he most likely remarried due to Darlene calling the person who opens the door Mrs Tilden. So I would think you would be write that Ty probably remarried and the dish Mrs Tilden gave her just had her married name on it but the dish belonged to her grandmother.
and also Mrs Tilden on Molly’s character wikia page says Mrs Tilden(mom) so it’s more likely Mrs Tilden is a step mom that Charlotte and Molly approve of being with their birthdad since they’d want their dad to be truly happy and their dad probably decided to fall in love again and remarry.
Weird dialogue/scene, Darlene's reaction was so brief, the woman at the door, nonchalantly asks about a dish after announcing a death? Agreed, not the same without Roseanne.
She didn't even seem to care that her daughter just died. She was even smiling.
@@iTzYoMasterXX Same way they were making jokes in the old show the second after Roseanne's dad died?
The show just hasn’t been the same without Roseanne. That’s nothing toward the actors, they are talented. It’s just Roseanne’s show and the dynamic isn’t there without her brilliance.
Rosie made it Sparkle
I agree. I haven’t watched it since she left.
Well that’s Roseannes fault.
Did anyone ever actually truly think that maybe just Maybe Roseanne was suppose to die in the original series instead of Dan and the spin off series is just correcting everything that originally went wrong in the original series, since the creators said they aren’t ignoring the past. Like for example Andy no longer exists,Dan is Alive,Jerry is a fisherman in Alaska so he’s clearly still alive even if he doesn’t get shown on the show probably due to the fact that they probably couldn’t find an adult actor for Jerry,Dans dad being dead,Mark being dead since his original actor died in real life just for David to be able to feel the loss of a family member,Fred not being around anymore,David being a dead beat dad since not all kids have dead parents since some kids have dad’s who aren’t in their lives because they aren’t the perfect fit for a dad yet the two parents of the kid still somehow eventually decided to have one or more kids,Dan finally getting to meet his younger half brother when he was originally kept away From him by his dad for the longest time, The writers of the spin off series just might actually truly 100% know what they are doing with the characters by doing the spin off series. They could just be correcting everything that went wrong in the original series before deciding whether or not to end the Roseanne franchise again or whether to keep it since the franchise deserves a proper series storyline which it is clearly getting through the spin off idea that it never got in the original one.
I totally agree, the show seems too serious than comical.
It's funny that in the original Roseanne series the dad said Charolette and Molly didn't have a mother. Now in The Conners, Molly has a mom but, where is the dad and Charolette. LOL!!
That's sucks. I sorta like molly back then even if she was a brat she did tried to become Darlene friend
Molley and Darlene were out having fun and planning an Hawaii trip together
If I remember correctly, Molly tried to befriend Darlene when she first moved in next door to the Conners. Darlene was pretty nasty in return. Molly also noticed that Darlene was pretty horrible to David too, and would flirt with him just to piss off Darlene.

There was never a Mrs. Tilden! Continuity!
Omg I was thinking the exact same thing. Molly’s mum was dead when they moved in next door to the conners.
And Dan was dead at the end of the original run. Continuity is not a strong suit on many TV shows.
Also, it couldn’t have been the woman’s grandmother’s casserole dish and have the name “Tilden” on it because the woman’s grandmother would’ve had a completely dif name because the woman’s maiden name wouldn’t have been Tilden.
@@shawnuel yeah but they obviously had to go back on Dan dying for the reboot. Mollys mum is just laziness. There was no reason for her to have a mum in this episode. She had an older sister who kind of took over the mum role when their mum died. She had a dad. If they can remember the character of molly (who really was only in a handful of episodes) surely they can remember her mum died.
And on the subject of continuity where the hell are Jerry and Andy?

I have a feeling ABC will strive to keep this show on as long as possible, they will never admit they made a mistake by firing Roseanne.
Continuity Error: In season 5, episode 10 of Roseanne, Good Girls, Bad Girls, when Molly comes over with her dad to apologize for keeping Darlene out too late at the concert in Rockford the previous night, her father clearly tells both Dan and Jackie that the girls have no mother. Even if you give them the benefit of the doubt that he 'remarried' and this is her stepmom, she states it was HER grandmother's casserole dish, so if it was a sentimental dish in her family, it is more likely to have her maiden name written all over it, not her married name. Had she said 'it was Molly's grandmother's', then it would have made more sense as this would imply it came from the father's side and had the Tilden name written on all four sides.
So sorry 😣 😢 😞
How could it have been HER grandmother's if Tildon was written on it? Tildon was Molly's father's last name and thus this woman's married name - so it would have no association with her grandmother.

Why is this show still on the air??????? Can someone please tell me!!!!!!!!
lost my mom at age 43 to brain cancer almost 30 years ago
First, was it _really_ necessary to kill Molly off? She was a beloved character on the original show.
But second, if the casserole dish was so important, why didn't _Molly_ bring it up?
Third, is this _really_ an appropriate subject to joke about?
Hard to watch. I lost many people and found out the next day or week they past away... it can be rough!
It really make you think 🤔 💭
I would have written this differently. First of all, the Conner's never met Molly's mom, Molly and her sister moved into town with their dad after the mom took off. Just saying, the writer's should have dug deeper into the genuine history (writing) of the show.
It really just feels like they’re trying to kill off everything about the old show fr…
Brain cancer?? Ok. The ol’ soap opera instant death.
yes....Kopfischlagen...
I haven't kept up with the new show, but heard Danielle Harris returned, and now watching the clips of her on the show, why have her pass away? I get if she agreed to only 1-2 episodes, however many it was, but there are 1000 other storylines they could have used. I'm sure there was some point to it, Molly telling Darlene " Your 44 When are you going to start enjoying Life?" clearly had more meaning then anyonw realized. With Sara Gilbert taking over as main producer & everything she does since Roseanne was kicked off & it became the Conners, having a friend like Molly could have been such an important character. That was so sad to see!
I thought that was Horrible decison by writers/producers/directors, or all of the above: putting that back and forth over the plate a moment after Darlene not only finds out she's been sick but passsed away was Very POOR JUDGEMENT ! And for a show that made history by addressing real-life issues with real serious scenes.
Maybe the Connors has a very different ethos & philospohy then Roseanne? I've only watched a few episodes, and really just want to see when they bring past characters back, even if cameo?
-Also if I remember correctly Molly had a sister, Charolette, both raised by their Father when they moved in. Their mother was never in the orginal show. Was it ever explained why she was there and/or mentioned Molly's sister or Father??
RIP Molly
Girl power 👧
That had me thinking about the original series where i thought the Tilden's parents were separated and the father had full custody of the girls. Was that a plot from roseannes' book? And also, what ever happened to andy and jerry? Never heard about them in the season 10 and the spin-off too.
This is a scene where they didn’t need the comedy.
damn. this show has been dark since day 1. another reminder we're all getting older...
When the characters of your favorite shows start dying of normal old people illness that is when "oh shit I'm old" starts vibing.
@@juliosantana3536 Molly wasnt old, probably early forties, and cancer can affect anyone regardless of age
@@shadymercury I'm not talking about Molly, that was cancer, cancer gives not shits and hits whenever. I'm talking about later in the future when you start hearing about stars of shows you remember as kids that were young men and women getting sick with things like heart disease is when you start looking at your age and think "I'm old."
While I admire the commitment to go on…they really need to pull the plug on this depressing show. Used to be more laughs with a few depressing moments. Now it’s more depressing moments with jokes here and there.
Hello writers of the Connors Molly and her sister Charlotte were raised by their father after the mother‘s death now you pop up with a mother you think people are stupid I guess they are to watch the Conners
They said Michael Fishman was let go, because he couldn't act, but Sarah isn't that good. I guess she's next.
