I wish that they had made that entry the first one and then kept on making deliberately incorrect baseball references throughout the entire video. Like, replace the subsequent "swinging for the fences" with something like "kicking a field goal" and go on for there, seats saying that it had something to do with baseball.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning may have been rough around the edges, but it deserved SO much more attention than it got! The multiclass feature and the incredibly cathartic combat animation is just brilliant.
Mystic Mind Analysis I've been replaying the game to prepare myself to the remaster! Putting together an interesting build, either unarmed only or shield only.
Shoutout to Red Faction: Guerrilla. Traveling an open-world Mars to destroy and sabotage the infrastructure of the oppressive EDF is incredibly fun and satisfying. I was surprised to hear the game didn’t sell well, especially since I haven’t seen a game do destruction as well as Guerrilla in the decade since it came out.
I'm pretty sure most of these games had a great reputation- they just got caught in bad circumstances. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and Jade Empire are 2 of my favorite games and most of the others are considered underrated classics
Austin Gilbert she was looking to say Major League Baseball NBA is National Basketball association which has never had pitchers for obvious reasons. A somewhat understandable mistake though this is not a sports channel and it’s a sport of a different country
Also she said spinning for the fences instead of swinging which doesn’t work maybe baseball jokes that either she and the writer are writing are not the best idea
You know, 10 years ago I wouldn’t have batted an eye to Psychonauts, Grim Fandango and Omani but I’ve watched this channel for 2-3 years now and I’ve grown to appreciate video games of all genres and look at them from different perspectives. I can happily say I have and have played all 3 of those games now
I love psychonauts. Unfortunately it took me a while to finally buy and play it but I wanted to play it since seeing the game play from the old cheat show on g4 lol
Which is especially telling, given that the entire purpose of the channel is to literally gush and talk about a topic that literally only exists due to consumerism.

Grim Fandango combined with Spec Ops The Line were one of the most top notch gaming experiences I've ever had, I wish more people realize the essence of gaming lies in the beauty of storytelling 💖
I could remember when I got Jade empire for the first time I refused to play it cause it had the same name of the girl who bullied me in school but I decided to play when I was about 13 and it became my favourite bioware. I would play it again after as soon as I finished it Love that game :)
You may as well throw "Psi Ops: the mindgate conspiracy" into the mix. It came out the same year as Psychonauts and was also a game involving psychic powers. Which only contributed further to both of their failures. It had the greatest and tightest controls for psychic powers I have ever seen in a game and it had an interesting story and character. I definitely think they both deserve sequels.
I’m pretty sure Ōkami wasn’t that much of a failure. It’s had remastered versions and ports on pretty much every console going since the ps2. It even got that spinoff game for the DS in Ōkamiden.
Enternal Darkness. I fondly remember playing this on the Gamecube (and still own it). I also remember the mindfucks the game tossed at you with the "Sanity Meter" LOL
Isn't this video basically wrongly named? Reputation and sales aren't the same thing. Basically no players ever dissed on these games. So the reputation is fine. They just didn't care enough to buy them. That is very much a different thing. So they were gaming flops better than their sales. But basically all these games have an awesome reputation.
I'm not really sure how much I would compare Legend of Zelda and...Ookami. That aside, it is a fantastic game. I had it and finished it on the PS2 and got it again, and platinumed it, on the PS3. Really fun, even if it makes you hate the idea of drawing a circle ever again.
Psychonauts (in particular), Okami, and No More Heroes were all majorly important parts of my gaming history when they came out. Psychonauts still ranks as one of my favorite games of all time, I got it on release day. I owned Okami for wii and PS2, and NMH was the exact game I wanted from the wii. Even though it would have been more popular on Xbox, I think playing it on Wii was indispensable tbh

Kingdoms of Amalur is my favorite RPG. That game have captivated me since I played the demo on PS3. No More Heroes was a gem on the Wii. I spent a lot of time on that game.

I recently brought Vanquish through Steam for $24.95 (Australian, I live in Australia) which I think is pretty cheap. I love it! It's a awesome game and considering the price I paid for it, I would very much say it was money well spent and worth every cent.

Huh, most of these games are either getting a remaster, gotten a remaster or getting/gotten a sequel. And speaking of that, Jade Empire really needs this. I have to say that I fail to see the reason why Mass Effect 2 would impact Vanquish since its almost 10 months between those two games. Same with many others on this list. That more than 1 game comes out the same year at some other game is not much of a contributing factor, not after 2010 or 2008 at least when social media became more prominent. Bad marketing I would believe would is a bigger factor of many of these games.
Grim Fandango was just and adventure game; almost nothing about it was point and click. You know, with all your movement being on the keyboard. Anyone remember the game "Soul Reaver"? That game was sick! I'd love a remaster!
I would like a remake of all of the Legacy of Kain games.
Been saying they should remake that game for years!
Agreed
Soul Reaver, legacy of Kain!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Would be awesome! Except the actors passed away some years ago :/
How was the N64 "glorious but unpopular"? It is considered one of the best consoles ever by those of us that played it. And it was very popular.
