Keens is probably my favorite restaurant in New York. I probably went there for the first time over forty years ago-----back when I could legally smoke a cigar after dinner with a cognac. My favorite meal was always the mutton chop. For lunch, quite often, I would eat in the bar which has a must see painting behind the bar. Whenever friends, who don't know New York, ask where to go, I always recommend Keens. Their clay pipe collection is also a must see. Many well known people had their pipe there, and the collection is on display.
All meme comments aside. You really have to appreciate Nick and the Meat Show. He shows off some pretty awesome looking dishes and actually gives a real honest review on the flavors which is nice. And he helps these businesses by showing off the food and getting people interested in trying it out. Nick and the Meat Show are a blessing to have on YT

When I was a kid in the 1960s, mutton was one of my grandfather's favorites. I don't think I had any since '71 or '72. And haven't seen any in a suburban supermarket since the late 70s. Now for lamb you typically have to go to the Halal market.
I had lamb chops recently and I told the cook, “next time, don’t cut the fat off my pieces, please.” The fatty parts definitely made it taste like some sort of sexy bacon. I’ve never tasted anything like it. I’ve actually recently decided that lamb chops are my fav. Now I need to try the mutton!
Because of this video, I make this cut from young venison every year now. The flavour is very mild amd the texture is as tender as you can imagine .... and you're absolutely right .... mint jelly and lamb are a match made in heaven.
I'm happy to see that Nick is wearing a suit that doesn't look like it came out of the lost and found of a circus. It's still not properly tailored (too loose, should be a tighter fit) and his sleeves are too long (he's about 1/2 of an inch off), and the tie is too small for the lapels... but this is a big improvement. He looks presentable, even though it's glaringly obvious that the shirt he's wearing was not pressed before it was taken out of the package.
If you’re interviewing someone, please, don’t ever slap your hand upon them like that even if you are friends. And then take a moment to talk about your socks. Like c’mon, man.
This is the place if you are looking for an atmosphere restaurant. I would order the mutton chop over a steak any day - and do. Don't live in NYC anymore, but go to Keen's for the chop when I visit. They didn't tell you that it is about $50- but worth it, if you like lamb.
As a Navajo aka Native American lol we love mutton sandwich!! Or stew with boiled flour turns into a dumpling stewed mutton! Mmmm 😋 than the mutton ribs wow. We eat everything on a sheep. It’s one of the things I miss about my reservation. Mmmm 😋 mutton!!
i know this will probably go unseen, but is there any way to upgrade the audio for this show? dining on a dime is perfect, but for the meat show it sounds like im listening from the other room.
went there, ate the mutton, very interesting experience. came foriegn i had motton in my life before but been in the state for long i forgot how they taste piece of meat didn't give pleasure in the begining, first bite felt like someone farted in my brain but then, when i tried around my companies' steak they orders, drank some alcohol (and get a tiny bit drunk), that piece of mottom became really good and any other piece of eat taste nothing, flavor really hit, its awesome.
Same, went there after this video and it was actually kinda bland. Tasted like normal lamb and it was a bit dry too. The belly portion was by far the best. It’s also a pain in the ass to cut off the bone. Much preferred the ribeye my wife ordered
I have tried this there and it was very good. I never said to myself boy I wish I had gotten the beef! The "ears" were the only part I used the mint jelly on. The rest was too good to spoil. The cost was about the same as their steaks. Thanks for this review.
USDA prime is NOT the best beef you can buy. The US just has astronomically lower standards for the highest tier of beef and there is so much variation in that standard. Or to be more correct USDA Prime may or may not be the best beef you can buy.
Thanks for mutton.
Simen Ruud Excellence in commentary. Well done sir, well done👏👏👏

It was great. It was kind of a "yeah, that's something that this guy would do" reaction.

Going to Keen's was one of the best NYC experiences for me. Highly recommended to any true meatlover.
Keens - the best steakhouse I've ever been to. The ribeye was out of this world. The scotch menu was fantastic.
I agree. Keen’s is one of my favorite places in NYC. I do like their ribeye but love their mutton chop!
I'd love to try the mutton. I've never had that. But Ii'd also have to order another ribeye too.@@johnpalmer5131
Mutton chops are the most underrated facial hairstyle
Nunnu
3:12 ladies and germs
I find that offensive
Milton Berle used to say it.
????
It's schtick. I guess many people just don't get it.
MasterMind I didn't get it would u mind??
Great steakhouse. Went to it on a vacation to NYC and I was daring enough to try the mutton instead of steak, which I love. It was fantastic.
Ate the mutton last time I was at Keen's. It was amazing! My 4 year old son who was with me kept eating it off my plate as well it was so good!
I find mutton has a wierd smell. Is it prepared differently or something?
@@Luke-Emmanuel the lamb just has a bit different fattyness and texture to it. They also generally use different herbs
@@kjorlaug1 does it have to be lamb or mutton
@@Luke-Emmanuel mutton is lamb

How long has he been waiting to pull those socks out? Lol
Nick is strange bordering on wierd.
So cringe
Next. It will his underwear.
A long, long time my friend. Lol
Precisely 6 years 7 months and 13 days
Bring these back to the steakhouses!

goto any indian or pakistani meat shop. they should have it.
what's up with the low volume?!
I had a mini heart attack cuz I thought the water that I spilled over my Mac a little while ago fucked my speakers up. xD

Coming from a pewdiepie video with 50% volume (moderately loud), now at 100% yet they're like whispering.

Cutting the fat off good lamb chops is shortchanging the customer bigtime.
Mutton chop & Kings Cutt were absolutely extraordinary. Could comfortably feed party of 3-4. Highly would recommend.
Keens is amazing. I got one of the best personal tours ever!
About time you back man. Miss all of your shows. You the best
Excited to go this November! Can’t wait for the chop!
In the UK this cut appears to be what is known as a "Barnsley chop."
Nicely done Nick. No presumptuous jargon. Clean, simple and informative. I like it. Keep it up👍🏼
Nick can you please go to Brazilian place and review Picanha? On other note, excellent show, watched every last one.

This is one of the great food channels on RUclips.
Thank you great description of the cut and prep as well as the delicious result!
Was this the quintessential most platonic mutton ever?!
not to forget "herbacious"
@@MrKikoboy it had no funk to it tho.
Artisanal? Profoundness?
Nah it was a carnal piece of lamb
Attention Meat Show fans: Nick did NOT use the word "profundity" in this episode! I'm currently having an existential crisis.
sock game on point tho
If I ever go here, I’m definitely gonna give this a try.
I honestly like this guy, I can understand why a lot of people dislike him but he is better than the new guys
Mutton, Lamb rack, roast whatever. Love it.
This is my fav episode of the Meat Show so far!!!
The mutton cut is my absolute favorite, it's cheap, tender, flavorful, ugh it's the best
I had heard about this place from the show, Billions. I will be dining there this weekend and I am so excited!!
Owensboro, Kentucky is known for barbecuing mutton and it’s fabulous! Try it! You might like it like I do!

Mutton is amazing when it's been marinated properly.
Never had this cut of meat before, but now I must find a place to go and try it!
Nick is looking more and more like the platonic ideal.... Love the socks, mate. ;)
Ethereal socks.

Anyone what type of grill/oven they use

In New Zealand we have 5 sheep for every person. We call sub 1 year old lamb, 12 to 18 months hogget, over that mutton

Trust nick to have socks about meat
Looks great
I ate at that Steak house once probably the best steak I have ever had.
We will be there tomorrow night.
Thanks Algorithm!
I give this review 5/7 in profoundness
This host comes across as knowledgeable but not arrogant. 👍🏻
Please tell me where you got those socks I want them now!
I am very sick (not C-19) while watching this. Yet I am so hungry now.
Nick, this mutton cut, comes from beef or lamb ?
I love the lamb chops on the long thin bone. Would that be a hint that I would love Mutton?
Based on this video I tried the mutton there. It was good but by no means did it blow me away. I’m glad I had it, but I’m in no rush to get it again.

My wife, and I have been coming to Keens for ten years...Never had a bad meal..
I love those socks and how utilitarian they are
So where do Keens buy their mutton from ? Which farm ?
whats started as a gimmick, Nicks overdressing to eat some meat, has now become a very enjoyable component of the show. more power to you
Anyone knows where to get those socks
Nicks looking sharp today.
Im going to New York in a couple of months im going to go here.
Never tried mutton, but it looks incredible. The "flaps" sounds amazing!
It has a profound sheepiness that sort of coats the mouth in a blanket of profundity when you bite into it.
Making me hungry looks great
The sound in this and all videos you do are very low please raise volume so that I can hear what you are saying to Lod my friend

It’s now on my gotta try list!
I am from rural kentucky, and bbq mutton is the number 1 meat bbq'd here, more than pork, chicken, or beef
Finally someone who does a proper food review.
Usually not a fan of this guy but he was respectful to the dish and explained it well.
In my humble opinion. I think potter house(?) and t bone steak was the best thing i ve had in keens
That looks so good
Did you have mint sauce or mint jelly with your mutton??
Keens is great. I recommend it.
Where'd you get them socks?
man when he referred to his socks like some cheat sheet
ded
Not the same anymore without you Nick!
NOT THE CANOLA OIL on that beautiful cut of meat 🤦♂️
3:12 did he say “Ladies and Germs”??
Why is the sound so low lol
I prefer mutton chops on Wolverine to be honest.
Logan is the only who does mutton chops right, and maybe Sabertooth.
nick looking sharp this episode
Mutton used to be a mainstay of our diet 200 yrs ago
I have to eat this cause it's my job. Where can I send my resume? Seems like something I'd be great at.
