    Okay these expansion modules actually have me excited.
    I wasn't sure what I'd think but I definitely see these modules being fun to toss in from time to time.

      I agree. They don't change the game significantly, but they provide enough variety to keep the game interesting and fresh. I particularly think the extra waterhole tokens with the ability to add an extra camel could really change the ability to enclose areas (or stop others from doing so).

    Wonderful video, Kyle! So perfectly succinct and elegantly explained. Much appreciated!

    Love the new modules. I really hope they go for the pastel candy-look with the camels (it's not Through the Desert without those!)

    I really wish there will be add on for wood pieces. It is such an amazing abstract game for that.
    Finger's crossed 🤞

      I haven't heard what AllPlay has planned for deluxe. They typically have deluxe add ons, so we'll see what do.

      "after MUCH testing the wooden meeples were just not as functional and useful as the plastic camels with riders to make the leaders. We tried many things and each testing players felt wood was more fiddly and overall felt like a downgrade to the plastic camels."

    quick question about oasis scoring, is each color a different caravan for scoring? for example, in the video you have blue player have a purple caravan score, and the yellow player score with an orange (?) caravan, but if that was the blue player with an orange caravan, that still scores right? or is it once per player?

    • @BitewingGames
      @BitewingGames  5 месяцев назад +1

      Once per caravan. So a single player could score an oasis multiple times with different caravans.

      @@BitewingGames thanks, that is what I thought but wasn't completely sure.

    Will the expansions be available once the game goes to retail?

    • @BitewingGames
      @BitewingGames  11 месяцев назад +1

      I’m not directly associated with the publisher so I can’t guarantee anything, but in the past they have sold extra copies of their add ons on their webstore, while supplies last.

      AllPlay (previously known as boardgametables.com) is producing this one. They are planning on having it available around May or so of this year. Available on their webstore.

    There's a thinness to the plastic pieces, especially the trees, that looks fragile and thus a little unappealing. I know these are 3D prototypes, but the digital models of the camels on BGG still have that very thin neck. I think going a little more chonky and slightly more abstract would look better for plastic game pieces.
    Everything else looks amazing, great choice on colors of the camels! Its a shame the wooden camels weren't very usable, your mockups looked beautiful.

      I'm told the colors will be a bit different in the final version, these were just close colors that were available for 3D printing. I'm curious to see what the final components look like once the campaign goes live. I didn't have any concerns with the camels necks from the prototype, the trees did seem a little thin. Hopefully if there are any issues they'll be corrected before production begins. But all in all, it was a great prototype and I think it will turn out well.

      This was from before the Kickstarter campaign. The designer made some changes and removed that expansion.

    i played a game very much like this as a kid back in the 90ies - but i cant for the life of me remember what it was called! it also had a desert theme, you also had to place tokens on a board with oasis. Please help kind people on the internet! :D
