Who and where? i saw a dance performance of Reich's "Clapping Music" in the 70's at the Kitchen in NYC. Very different approach. 4 Musicians arranged as an open square with dancers moving off and onto the space between them. The stark contrast of sinuous dance against the bare rhythm was very powerful.
Did we need to hear their feet too? On the one hand, it alters the experience of Reich's piece. On the other hand, it is the result of the dancers engaging with the piece, and so it's rhythmically connected to the piece.
I really like this piece because is the very basic principle of most of Reich work. The dance represent it perfectly in a graphic way.

I'd call that a win, and a yes to your question.
We need to hear their feet movements and respirations. that's why it's named "dance". Otherwise, buy a plate.
