We visited the beautiful and stunning Pena Palace in March. This was the perfect time! The wether was nice and the crowds were really no where to be found. We did book a tour and it was wonderful. Portuguese for a Day is the name of the tour company and we highly recommend. We found this tour on Viator - Sintra Tour with Pena Palace & Regaleira All Tickets Included, Portuguese for a Day is who actually did the tour. They picked us up in Lisbon in a van. We were on a small group tour with only 6 people so that was nice. Our guide got us there early. We were some of the first. This seems to be a key to having the place to yourself. We did hike up. There are buses that will take you up but they cost more and you will wait, a long time, and you will not be up to the palace when they let the first group in. Our tour gave us plenty of time to see everything and I never felt rushed and that's saying something because we are shooting video and flying the drone.
