I agree that the “little guy” can make huge changes in the earth. We are on 5 acres of which 4 are heavily wooded. The woods are natural understory pine, cedar and oaks with an abundance of berries (one “patch” has 1/4 acre of wild blueberries 😋) We would like to add wild blackberries and elderberries for the birds and other wild animals that forage as well as some other trees that don’t need too much sun. We are also hoping that we can harvest very ripe local woodland berries and drop them in the sunnier areas on the edges of our land. There are so many wild flowers on our land that grow in patches that flower during the season. The darkness of our woods is gorgeous and we just love that the woods change so much during the year. We are researching what other things we can plant without disturbing the natural order of things. We have to be careful when planting or cutting near our oaks because of the oak wilt in our area. Trimming and felling the oaks can only be done in winter so as not to cause the eventual death of oaks we do not want to lose.
We are retiring permanently to this land very soon and have several tree saplings that we can easily transplant for nothing. When it cools down a bit I will dig up some wild seedlings and just pot them up ready for a move into our woods. What have we got to lose?? People can share seedling trees, tall shrub cuttings and split and share other plants with friends for a start. This costs nothing. People just need a nudge, a bit of knowledge and a few ideas to get started. I think many people are willing but they just need to know where to begin...... great topic!

I have such a small area I've started planting, planting, etc...but you know what, a family of beautiful north American yellow finches have now come back for a third year to my giant sunflowers. My neighbor is breeding Monarch butterflies too and they are coming over the fence to my flowers, coneflowers, comfrey, sunflowers, blueberries, strawberries, etc..and my backyard is really tiny!

We only have a small garden but its got lots of trees in it ,& plants & flowers. Our simple way of helping Mother Earth. We also recycle, upcycle, reuse, compost, use eco light bulbs, the eco washing cycle , & take our own eco bags when we go shopping. Me & my husband have both planted trees, + i have volunteered at an eco centre in the past, & am now a volunteer at a farm in the middle of our council estate. Its only early days yet but it will be wonderful when it is up & running. At the moment my daughter & i are helping out with the Donkeys.

We jumped off grid in northern Minnesota to raw land into tents w our kids in 2015.... my gardens have brought me more joy than I can express.... and we have so so so far to go.... but in just 3 yrs..... I have quieted and learned and grown so much ♡♡♡ I kept telling my kids what ppl should be doing .... but one day I decided it was bullshit. I shouldn't be telling them, I should be showing them. and so we sold everything and jumped.... I hope some day they carry on the work.... ♡ at some point you have to shut up and just get to doing it.... and that's how we change a system ♡

Well Good Morning! So glad to be one of the first this morning. I have learned so much from your videos. One of the things is chop and drop. Every one wants to clean up all the time and I have noticed a difference by not doing it. The neighbors of course think I am lazy because I dont burn my leaves. You are educating people and I think you take the fear out of being different. Change is always so slow but education and doing are the answer. Thanks.

Yes, they recalled lots of sweetcorn from Aldi and Lidl and other supermarkets because of the danger of Listeria. Maybe that affected you. Hope you're feeling better. You've created something amazing. Congrats. I can see all the work you've put in. You are an inspiration.

So glad to hear you talking about the lack of progress between the Irish government and EU to address the issues with forestry in this country. It's something that I'm constantly talking about. In the process of buying a cottage/land at the moment (fingers crossed all goes to plan) and there's a good acre with it to hopefully convert to forestry. Purchased one of your books the other day, really looking forward to reading it. Thank you for everything that you do, Colette.

So sorry that you have been ill. Hope all is well now. You had mentioned that you felt like you were nothing special. I beg to differ. Look at what you have done at Beltaine Cottage, and continue to do. But what is truly important is the way in which you expound the need for Goddess Permaculture. No one is doing this more and in such a beautiful and caring way. Trying to encourage others to do the same. I commend and support you for this. I have a lot of acreage that I am tending, mostly to keep the utility company from coming in. But I am no orator, nor can I spend much time on social media with my 1000 GB of data! Or tending 290 acres of wooded land. For those that are not in a position to tend the land, yes, any help whether by social media, or by becoming a Patreon to support those putting out this message will help! I support several channels that I feel "walk the talk" . These creators must make a living as putting out videos whether for the message or for entertainment takes time and money for their investment! I thank you Colette, for providing me with a path forward and sharing your life with others. This is not always easy to do.

All forms of activism are positive, imho. Armchair warriors, or slacktivists, write their elected officials, respond to petitions, and disseminate information, among other things. And these things, small as they may be, can make a difference. Does active engagement generate more change? Probably, but I'd rather see folks involved in ANY way at all, rather than not at all.
I hope you are feeling better. My last week was like your last night. My fav drink became carbonated water with cucumber pieces. All the best to you.

I think that a nature loving human measures land by how much of our heart is taken up by what we are seeing. That may be one reason that your little 2.87 acres seems like much more. Looking at a picture of the very same acreage, barren a reedy, it might be perceived to be much smaller. So glad you are feeling better Colette! 🍀

Throwing up is amazing in that it resets out bodies so well. Soon after we are well. A glass of water and a good sleep is best . We all dread that shall not vomit thing. But our bodies are quite amazing at rejecting foreign objects.

Canada wants to impose a carbon tax, I live in the countryside surrounded by trees and beautiful wild flowers and I drink well water. A native indian resort helps drug addicts and soldiers by just giving them well water. It's been so hot and dry that I doubt I'll harvest any cucumbers this summer.

It all looks so glorious 😊 I really need to get my tag sent off to you.weird thing..last night I had a series of weird dreams one of which involved two of my children when they were smaller. They were both sick..each one had vomited and I was trying not to catch it. I woke up and felt nauseous but fine after a few mins. There were other parts of the dream but they had no relevance to the children being ill. Then I click on your vid and you tell us you were up all night. The dream then sprang to my mind. Anyway glad you feel better. Have a lovely restful day, what's left 😊 many blessings xx

You are such an inspiration to the world. Jack is having an energy attack, oh shame I am sorry to hear that , hope you recover soon. Yes careful and sweetcorn is also GMO. Not good for us. thank you for the daily thoughts and blessings. I appreciated it very much. I saw a lovely little house for sale the other day with a perfect yard that screams out with potential and what could eventually be my own mini woodland. I wanted to know if you could maybe put up a prayer flag for me in your stone circle. I am going to see a mortgage broker on friday and wanted to know if you could send me some good energy, I want this more then anything. I want to plant trees and heal land, no matter how small it is.

So sorry that you've been so sick Collette, please be careful with any corn or foods containing corn as most if not all corn is now GMO! Even the organic corn has been contaminated because of cross pollination and is not safe to eat any more. However I am glad that you are now feeling much better and on the mend. Your body recognised that you had eaten something that was not normal and thus rejected it!On the other hand I have felt very nauseous all of this morning for no apparent reason but ok now. A couple of my friends reported feeling the same, maybe it is something to do with feeling overheated and tired.
