    I’ve learnt more from just two of your vids than any vids I’ve seen, I’m a complete newbie to fishing entirely, looking forward to giving it a go

      @@Thomhuntfishing I do ok for a purely pleasure angler, but your insight has filled in some gaps that I’ve struggled to get my head around and you’ve given me greater confidence. Thanks Thom

    Thom I’ve never fished in my life but I’ve watched the whole video! You’re so engaging to listen to and obviously super knowledgable. I wish you every success with your channel (and your fishing obvs)

    You pack a lot of useful knowledge into your videos! Really good stuff, thank you. I agree with your color assessment, and I had never thought about the flake size for silver, but that's a good idea you shared. I can use this info for my musky and pike fishing for sure. I wish we had Westin lures with those finishes available here in the USA in musky sizes!

      Hi Dean, I’ve not had the chance to target Muskies before but always been fascinated by the size they get to! We only have Northern Pike here but they do get to 20kg+!

    Great channel Thom, the best technical lure fishing channel on RUclips, a real insight to your technical competence 👍 I’m usually hasten to buy after watching lures ‘promoted’ but I’ve got a few on the way after watching this 🤣

      Trust is super important to me…. I’ll tell you what works, I’ll tell you how it works, but I’ll also tell you when to avoid certain baits 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Hi Thom, i cant get a bite since 1st may! Here in Poland we can hunt for pike from 1st May so basically start my season on May. But I am also after some perch.
    I cant get any bite no matter what I use if its 5cm shad or worm or 12cm swim or even 20cm shad teez.
    I think maybe I am changing spots or lures too often.
    How do you approach that? Let's say do you fish one spot e.q 20-30 mins with 3 or 5 lures or you just keep your confident bait and then look for spot changing them every 10 mins?
    To summarize how often should I change spot or lure?

      Hi Reggie, this is a great question. Most often, in this scenario, I stick to confidence baits to start with. For example, a Shadteez has been a great lure for last 10 years, and will still be a great lure in next 10 years, so we know with confidence baits they will always catch. Sometimes not the ultimate bait for the day, but will always manage a few bites and this is where we start. Once we have a few bites it’s then time to experiment. But for you, keep on your confidence baits and keep covering water. However, if still struggling, think of changing other things. For me, at this time of year, maybe think about early morning sessions. They can be very good, when daylight hours can be very poor. Changing lures can be good to stop our own boredom, but try changing between other confidence baits that have a different style, so if Shadteez is not working, instead of changing to a Hypoteez (another confidence bait for me, but similar to a Shadteez) I will change to a Buzzbite crankbait, or a Bladebite chatterbait, or a Crecraw….. something that I have confidence in but completely different

    What weight rod do you use for your crankbaits

    • @Thomhuntfishing
      @Thomhuntfishing  2 года назад

      W3 Finesse T&C 7-21g most of the time. For big, deep cranking I use a W6 Powershad 8’ 15-40g 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
      For little canal cranks the Finesse T&C in 2-10 or 5-15 is good
