My son introduced me LG. This song slays me. I turned 50 this year, inside I still feel 21. Life flies after High School. Take in every moment you have with friends, still love them, but cut loose those that hold you back, and learn family ain't always blood, but those who love you for who you are.
On a quiet ride home from a tball game after my 6yr.old lost the first game of his winning season, out of nowhere, he started singing this song. It was so touching and kinda funny at the same time listening to a 6yr old sing, "once I was 7yrs old..." Son, you're not even 7 yet.

Thankyou for this song as it always resonates with me and as I get older I wish I could see my mum again but alas life passes so quickly and I can’t look over my shoulder and see what was …
I was driving in my car and this came on the radio. I had to pull over just to listen, and it reduced me to tears for being such a beautiful song. I'm a 24 year old guy from the UK and recently lost my best friend to a drugs overdose. When he sings about his boys but being 60, stunning. Thank you so much for writing this beautiful song Lucas. Thanks for the bottom of my heart mate.
Once I was seven years old, my mama told me "Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely" Once I was seven years old It was a big big world, but we thought we were bigger Pushing each other to the limits, we were learning quicker By eleven smoking herb and drinking burning liquor Never rich so we were out to make that steady figure Once I was eleven years old, my daddy told me "Go get yourself a wife or you'll be lonely" Once I was eleven years old I always had that dream, like my daddy before me So I started writing songs, I started writing stories Something about that glory just always seemed to bore me 'Cause only those I really love will ever really know me Once I was twenty years old, my story got told Before the morning sun, when life was lonely Once I was twenty years old (Lukas Graham!) I only see my goals, I don't believe in failure 'Cause I know the smallest voices, they can make it major I got my boys with me, at least those in favor And if we don't meet before I leave, I hope I'll see you later Once I was twenty years old, my story got told I was writing 'bout everything I saw before me Once I was twenty years old Soon we'll be thirty years old, our songs have been sold We've traveled around the world and we're still roaming Soon we'll be thirty years old I'm still learning about life My woman brought children for me So I can sing them all my songs And I can tell them stories Most of my boys are with me Some are still out seeking glory And some I had to leave behind My brother, I'm still sorry Soon I'll be sixty years old, my daddy got sixty-one Remember life, and then your life becomes a better one I made a man so happy when I wrote a letter once I hope my children come and visit once or twice a month Soon I'll be sixty years old, will I think the world is cold Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me? Soon I'll be sixty years old Soon I'll be sixty years old, will I think the world is cold Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me? Soon I'll be sixty years old Once I was seven years old, my mama told me "Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely" Once I was seven years old Once I was seven years old
I was 20 with more friends than I needed, 30 with friends I swore I’d know for as long as I lived… Turing 40 this year with more fingers on hand than friends… this is what I call life’s journey.
My gosh, I've watched five of these live versions now and it's so enjoyable to watch an artist perform quality vocals live for once. No doubt, it is NOT easy, which makes Lukas that much more awesome.
That line where he says I hope my kids come to visit me once or twice a month made me want to go visit my Mom after not seeing her for 5 years. She asks me multiple times a year to visit or to meet up and I always same I'm busy (which I am, but I can try to make time). When I heard this line, I was like "I have to go see my Mom, if that's what she's thinking about when she goes to bed". Making her think about whether she'll see me again before she goes away forever is not something any parent should have to think about. then I think about when I have kids and I would think the same thing. This song really puts into perspective how much of a repetitive cycle life really is.
I doubt this comment will reach the band, but in case it does: thank you. I've never found a sound that spoke to my souls the way this song does. You brought a tear to my eyes with your amazing lyrics and incredible sound. I hope that one day when I make it big we can tour together or collaborate. Seriously, thank you.

at 68 years old, listening to these words, i wonder how the world lost the priorities to live life at the fullest ...and amongst each other in harmony... once we were all 7-year-old.... life moves in a blink of an eye...

Some of these lines get me. " And some I had to leave behind my brother I'm still sorry" " it was a big big world but we thought we were bigger, pushing each other to the limits we were learning quicker
When an artist can sound exactly like or even better than the studio version live then you know they have true talent.

Once I was seven years old, my mama told me
"Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely"
Once I was seven years old
It was a big big world, but we thought we were bigger
Pushing each other to the limits, we were learning quicker
By eleven smoking herb and drinking burning liquor
Never rich so we were out to make that steady figure
Once I was eleven years old, my daddy told me
"Go get yourself a wife or you'll be lonely"
Once I was eleven years old
I always had that dream, like my daddy before me
So I started writing songs, I started writing stories
Something about that glory just always seemed to bore me
'Cause only those I really love will ever really know me
Once I was twenty years old, my story got told
Before the morning sun, when life was lonely
Once I was twenty years old
(Lukas Graham!)
I only see my goals, I don't believe in failure
'Cause I know the smallest voices, they can make it major
I got my boys with me, at least those in favor
And if we don't meet before I leave, I hope I'll see you later
Once I was twenty years old, my story got told
I was writing 'bout everything I saw before me
Once I was twenty years old
Soon we'll be thirty years old, our songs have been sold
We've traveled around the world and we're still roaming
Soon we'll be thirty years old
I'm still learning about life
My woman brought children for me
So I can sing them all my songs
And I can tell them stories
Most of my boys are with me
Some are still out seeking glory
And some I had to leave behind
My brother, I'm still sorry
Soon I'll be sixty years old, my daddy got sixty-one
Remember life, and then your life becomes a better one
I made a man so happy when I wrote a letter once
I hope my children come and visit once or twice a month
Soon I'll be sixty years old, will I think the world is cold
Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me?
Soon I'll be sixty years old
Soon I'll be sixty years old, will I think the world is cold
Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me?
Soon I'll be sixty years old

at 68 years old, listening to these words, i wonder how the world lost the priorities to live life at the fullest ...and amongst each other in harmony... once we were all 7-year-old.... life moves in a blink of an eye...

Essa canção é linda 💕
Once I was seven years old, my mama told me
Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely
Once I was seven years old
It was a big big world, but we thought we were bigger
Pushing each other to the limits, we were learning quicker
By 11 smoking herb and drinking burning liquor
Never rich so we were out to make that steady figure
Once I was 11 years old, my daddy told me
Go get yourself a wife or you'll be lonely
Once I was 11 years old
I always had that dream like my daddy before me
So I started writing songs, I started writing stories
Something about the glory, just always seemed to bore me
'Cause only those I really love will ever really know me
Once I was 20 years old, my story got told
Before the morning sun, when life was lonely
Once I was 20 years old
(Lukas Graham)
I only see my goals, I don't believe in failure
'Cause I know the smallest voices, they can make it major
I got my boys with me atleast those in favor
And if we don't meet before I leave, I hope I'll see you later
Once I was 20 years old, my story got told
I was writing 'bout everything, I saw before me
Once I was 20 years old
Soon we'll be 30 years old, our songs have been sold
We've traveled around the world and we're still roaming
Soon we'll be 30 years old
I'm still learning about life
My woman brought children for me
So I can sing them all my songs
And I can tell them stories
Most of my boys are with me
Some are still out seeking glory
And some I had to leave behind
My brother I'm still sorry
Soon I'll be 60 years old, my daddy got 61
Remember life and then your life becomes a better one
I made the man so happy when I wrote a letter once
I hope my children come and visit, once or twice a month
Soon I'll be 60 years old, will I think the world is cold
Or will I have a lot of children who can warm me
Soon I'll be 60 years old
Soon I'll be 60 years old, will I think the world is cold
Or will I have a lot of children who can hold me
Soon I'll be 60 years old
Once I was seven years old, my mama told me
Go make yourself some friends or you'll be lonely
Once I was seven years old
Once I was seven years old
Some of these lines get me. " And some I had to leave behind my brother I'm still sorry" " it was a big big world but we thought we were bigger, pushing each other to the limits we were learning quicker
