Really, Wemby? She's bigger than all of them..even Siver knows that. Reason why he made sure the women's side of basketball does not include her on the national team. He was afraid with Clark on the team, there's a chance that the women's team would have higher rating than the men's. And can't have that//
Not only basketball, but team usa gymnastics had to showcase simone biles. Caitlin would've overshadowed that as well.

Comparison only done via an American point of view. If you take into account viewership worldwide NBA (i.e. Wemby) is largely above WNBA. Also NBA has way more game so for sure people won’t watch all 82 games of a loosing team while you can more easily watch all the fewer ENBA games.
Go outside US (where many watched her play in NCAA…) and almost nobody knows her
Yeah, watching Caitlin play IS that much fun. It's just not her basketball skills either. It's fun to root for someone who is fundamentally a good, decent, and humble person.🙂

The only reason Clark games outranked Spurs games is simple….the Spurs were TERRIBLE. Even if you have someone like Wemby on the team, if you suck as a team, no one is gonna watch you.
Also, comparing the NBA with 30 teams, with the WNBA that has 12 teams, plays into it.
You could have 5 matchups on any given night for the NBA (10 teams involved) and therefore have fans tuning in their own teams to watch, and casuals watching whatever is on a mainstream channel.
But in the WNBA, there’s only 12 teams. Leas teams means more people with more opportunity to watch a particular matchup…like the Fever.
Also, because of the Clark hype, ESPN was CONSTANTLY airing Fever games. ESPN is a mainstream cable channel. Spurs games weren’t always on a mainstream channel like ESPN. And when they were, there were probably getting blown out.
There’s so much context that goes into viewership.
Clark is more famous in America. Wemby is more famous globally (especially after the Paris Olympics).
But I think during and after this season, Wemby is gonna skyrocket in popularity and ratings because his game is gonna take a quantum leap, and having Chris Paul on the Spurs, they’ll win more games.
