Speaking as a South African. First I wish people would stop terms like Africa. Don't move to Africa. Africa where? Be specific. Number one. I don't think anyone has a right to speak on behalf of all of Africa with limited perspective.
As a South African and witnessing movement of skilled and entrepreneurial Africans from the diaspora moving to South Africa.
The benefit for South Africa is extraordinary. Remember we have a solid economic and financial system. Majority of South African economy is formal economy. There is literally direct traceable money flow and studying of its multipliers.
Migration of this kind increases the tax base. VISA rules says one must have $35000 US annual income. That's translate to R550000. They demand South African goods and services. Typical household of immigrant from diaspora demands health insurance, life insurance, house insurance, car insurance, housing, living, leisure, etc. This is serious money pull for tax collection. I don't even want to mention demand for goods create jobs and other multipliers in the economy. Money flows.
The poor you mention get to continue to have free education up to tertiary level. Health care, universal income, etc. You name it. There is a social cushion created in the system.
Add the element of skilled labour force spinoffs in the economy. Eventually they are entrepreneurial. South Africa is a lesson for many. Economy is not just land. Land is part of the mix not even majority of the economy. Economy must be diverse. The biggest contributor to GDP in South Africa is not land based. It's the tertiary industry. Financial services. Knowledge economy. The obsessession with just land based enterprising is ridiculous at this day and age. Economies must diversify.
In a nutshell, if the AAs or Africans in Diaspora do not come to Africa because you think they will cat like colonisers somebody is already doing the ish. China is in bed with African governments. African societies are gonna pay dearly for these blunders.
So, African Americans, Jamaicans, all diaspora, Africans from other African countries do come to South Africa. We need you and you are welcome. Not asylum seekers or poor immigrants running away from holding your governments responsible and accountable. Legal folks, on the front. Let's build the gateway to Africa. x

now u see how Black Americans feel when Africans come to the states and speak on us..for example, no African should ever speak on reparations in united states

@@matrix2030x They can speak on any subject but should never be speaking on behalf of the descendants of alaves. That's disrespectful. I have enjoyed Trevor Noah explaining the nuances of reparations and advocating for reparations from a perspective of an outside. He respected Black Americans and said it that he himself is not part of the conversation but adds value to why reparations are necessary as simple facts of economic reality. Yes scholarship can contribute to the debate but no they can't speak on behalf of black Americans.

Their observation was CORRECT. South Africa is also enduring a high level of socio-political turmoil and violence. To continue referencing your specific country defeats the purpose of this video. "This is NOT true!! Everyone should migrate to this ONE COUNTRY in Africa!!" This couple is talking about physical, mental, socio-political adaptation. This is true of ANY migration. Yes, there are other places to travel to in the USA, but I'm not going to entice someone with "THAT'S NOT TRUE!! I'M FROM NEW YORK CITY!!" [ and I am, actually ].
Media propaganda is a 2-way street. It's equally silly when my Brazilian, Egyptian or former Mexican associates ( all places I've previously traveled to and connected ) believe:
---families eat dinner at the table, nightly ( Hollywood and television )
---Black men are shot by police, daily...and there is a big racial war with police (the high amount of crime, murder and terror are from BLACK and mixed-Latino youth. The residents of these communities---especially women and elderly---feel like hostages. They FEAR Black and mixed-Latino youth. And if you are a person who lives your life via internet/phone/TV....I suggest you travel to these areas, for confirmation. Don't be some fake intellectual about "poverty". Go to these areas. Stop pushing the CNN/media propaganda your lazy azzes only views in airports, or via YOUR media ).
---New York City is tall buildings, and fancy areas (lower Manhattan).
      --all Caucasian Americans are privileged.
      --most Americans are "rich".
Again: propaganda, migration, adjustments goes both ways. But I still fully support this couple. They are not focused on one or two countries, in Africa. They want people to be VERY REALISTIC with their expectations.

As a full on white dude who has occasionally looked into this, I just want to say, you two are a huge breath of air, especially compared to some of the other black families that have moved to Africa. I kept noticing how so many of them hardly really cared about the fact that they are establishing themselves really well, while the countries they are moving to are literally where the people are having the crops and land being stolen from them by European and US corporations on a consistent basis.
I don't at all blame black people from the US for seeking a better way of life, but in their retreat from the oppression in the US, they go over with a self-centered outlook, and hardly interact with the locals and understand their struggles, and are certainly unaware of just how much the US and Europe is literally stealing from Africa constantly. Land Grabbing deals for foreign corporate interest have only skyrocketed in number and sheer size over the last decade alone... the western corporate colonization of Africa is just as real as the colonization's of Africa in centuries past, i just call it Imperialism.
I love the emphasis of "Don't come here to exploit the people, come here to help them".

I'd title it as "10 things to know in planning to move to Africa". Because Africa is the homeland of the black people and the time is now to at least be connected to the motherland.
I am here in North America, came here from Africa, but we want our people, who were taken away, back home to the motherland or to connect with home.
However, it's necessary they know and understand the landscape, which you have eloquently presented here. Coming home or visiting should be in their plans but they need to prepare with understanding. Good job as always.

I enjoyed your video about moving to another country. I think what you say should be applied to moving just about anywhere in the world, don't do it just because of a bunch of RUclips videos or stuff you see on House Hunters International. One thing to note not only about Africa, but just about any other continent(Europe, South America, North America, Asia) is that they are composed of multiple countries which have different cultures, governments, languages, etc., and none are the same. Living in Kenya isn't going to be the same as say Nigeria, South Africa, etc. just like in Europe where France, Germany, Netherlands, etc. are all on the same continent and close to each other, but very different. If you're going to go to a country, do your research and actually spend some time there yourself to see if it might be right for you. Many people go to another country expecting to find Utopia but then realize no place is perfect and are disappointed. I do like your idea of going there to help instead of exploit, that's a great mindset to have. Keep it up.

Thanks for your input about living in Africa. Each person will have a different experience. I have lived in multiple countries for many years. Yes, North Africa was one of them. Being there for 5years and different areas, gave me a Good Taste about the place. However, I did not have any expectations. Observation was key. Though I was very much welcomed, and treated like a queen many areas, only 1 was giving trouble to all the Americans I spoke to except 3. They too, cautioned about that entire area exhibiting disdain for America and Americans. They were correct. ~23 of us were physically attacked. This has not deterred me from embracing other parts of Africa. 10 guys in a country, does not represent an entire country. None of us were breaking any rules, laws... This was just after 911 in the USA. Some places there were Chanting Slogans of, Down with America.

Just to clarify my view further: All of Africa needs to form an anti-imperialist bloc against all forms of foreign intrusion, territorial, economic and diplomatic, so that the people of African Countries can develop their countries on their own terms, using the immense natural wealth that Africa has to offer.

The world and Africa is what it is because of the heavy hand of the West, led by the United States of America and it's flunkies. Unless you have a bigger gun and have mastered the art of post -modern day economics and military warfare. Keep dreaming.
The European colonists did as masterful job of leaving Africa as corrupt as the Northern carpetbaggers and Southern Segregationists have done to Black Americans.

There has been a lot of Africans that has moved aboard making a lot of money that they can’t align themselves together to fight for the country’s. They can also buy back that land and built businesses… Why do Americans always the ones in needs to rescue Africians. Remember we were the forgotten ones that they could care less who sold us through the slave trade.. the ones we are always reminded we don’t have a history they tell us and now they sit back and allow the colonies people relatives/family as well as the Chinese/Indian people who now own the land and now they need our help the people who you forgotten.. Africans is no different than us but the only difference is you won’t fight nor claim what’s yours I can’t imagine what your ancestors are thinking… Black Americans/Africans has the same in common they don’t stand strong for each other’s always a divided issue.. Here in America we are aware of our fight and what we are up against from the beginning no denial because we live it everyday. Africans needs to fight and clean up your government buy your land back and claim it… You say we not the savior but you need our dollars to buy the land y’all can’t get together and buy….

Sokami, I find it strange, after centuries of colonization of Africa, you want them to make their own decisions without any interference from those of us from The West. The part about Interference, I agree with. However, that does not apply to those of us from the diaspora, who have been asked, and Welcomed Home! It would be good for people like you, not to continue to try to divide us!

@@dtintl3411 Perhaps you have misunderstood. I have no intention to divide any Diasporas from Africa. On the contrary, I believe a form of African Unity, perhaps something roughly resembling the EU, but for Africa, is an essential project for establishing the Sovereignty of all African Nations. I also believe that African Diasporas raised outside of Africa can be very valuable to a United Africa, if they have the right intentions, which is not always the case. Are you certain you have never encountered anyone in a similar situation to yourself that has not had purely or mostly self-centered desires?

The issue with Africa is 54 countries on one continent and no continuity to building an infrastructure for businesses (e.g. US based investment bank opening an office) and services (e.g. US based utility company) that can do business over a few or several countries bc they all have different forms of governments and laws. Business ppl who want expand or access to small business loans, etc, move out of Africa.

I ain't moving anywhere where I gotta help them. Thats crazy. One person gonna move to an entire country and help them?
    Nah.
Their system is setup in how they set it up. They are that way because thats what they accepted and cultivated. There ain't no "helping them". People have to help themselves, and if you think they need help. well thats your problem, not theirs, if they thought they needed help, they wouldn't be that way, they would have already over the hundreds of years cultivated what they thought was better.
So even if people moved there in masses, its nothing compared to the current population.

i personally feel called to latin america/the carribean, your point about going where you are called is so important.
i have felt stagnant for years where i'm at. bad things just kept happening to me but now i see this place is not for me. i'm on a higher frequency and i need to go with people like me. now i'm starting to plan it but i'm low-key terrified of everything i'll have to let go...then i remember that Jesus didn't cling to his possesions and went where he was called.
i think it's unnatural to stay in this place (america). everything feels fake and i feel spiritually and emotionally blocked. i'm learning to let go and hoping everything goes so well that i think i'm dreaming. people are trying to discourage the move because "if immigrants come here why would you want to go there?". i know these "poor" countries don't have as much as america but honestly i do not want more. i want something real and simple. here is too fast and fake. i'm planning to go to africa later in life and right now i'm learning swahili and a little lingala to get an idea. everything is changing so rapidly but i see it's all for the best.
hopefully everyone here is going to the places they need to be if you're thinking of moving. stay safe!!!
