Hi Gary. Great review. I never got a SKX myself. I got into watches just before they were discontinued. I bought an Orient Ray 2 which I modded. I’ve wanted to buy a SKX but the prices are way to high now. Most Seikos are too expensive now. Steel dive is still a great price for a great watch! Thanks again for the review.
Love the video. Maybe add a link to the watch shown? I have the steeldive 1970 willard, and its just an amazing watch for the money. A real Seiko is way out of my price range, so this is right up my alley.
Was looking at seikos here in Thailand, saw the seiko srpd55k1, they wanted equivalent $320..... in the US I can find them for $200... make it make sense.
Bracelet is flimsy, no seal or gasket on crown / stem, the crown does not meet the case and the crystal does not use a o ring. Get it wet and let us know how that works out.
@@izleyici4141lol it is if you have baby wrists. On an 8" wrist like myself and this gentleman, it would look like a timepiece for toddlers. I wish my wrist was an inch or so smaller so I could pull it off though
That bracelet is better than what comes on the SKX. I’m glad I was able to get one before they were discontinued, but this looks pretty good.
It’s very nice that they updated this with a nice jubilee and a milled clasp!
Good looking timepiece, and spec-wise better than an SKX.
It really has surpased my expectation for this Steeldive watch.

Finding the older SKX with 20 bar is very difficult in today’s market.
A day/date function would have been nice!

@@antreaskonstantinou8585 mime keeps the time well. The build quality is on the same level as the Seiko, the movement is made by Seiko.
Ive both watches and the steeldive wins overall very easy IMO

Got mine today. Get that thing out in the sun. Face it to the sun and then turn it to see the face. The lume will knock your socks off.
Will try as just not a lot of sun here in New England this time of year.
Don't. ever tried to remove the rotating bezel and then replaced with an SKX Mods bezels..that will not fit..
Mods were great on the original SKX but I don’t plan to change anything on this watch

You have may me cautious about using it in water. But I’m in the pool a lot so it may get it’s test in the future.
