Mid week they had a 'quick clean' a'spit n polish' my grandad called it... But we were never allowed to school with dirty shoes... We were taught.. 'however poor you are, there's no need for anyone to leave the house looking dirtly' show some pride in your appearance... Its stuck with me that ethos... I always look at a person's shoes to this day... It says a lot about a person. Although I dreaded the loathsome chore of this ritual every wknd... I'm very grateful now for the standards instilled in me at a young age. Thank you for this video. 🙏🏼
I love watching different types of restoration videos. Went from watching car restorations, to hardware restoration, to toy restorations, to painting restorations, to wood restorations and now i've come to clothes/shoes restorations! It's fascinating to see all the different tools everyone is using for their own type of restoration. This is also the second ASMR restoration i've seen (peside the painting one) I guess it can be hard to relax with all the powertool sounds and sandblasting hehe

Of course that’s incredibly stupid. I don’t think there are any shoes from the 1200’s that could possibly exist in a state where they were capable of being restored

Хороший сапожник оказывается может многое, другое дело это не дёшево, все средства которые используются для восстановления дорогие и опасные для здоровья ну и трудо-часы тоже. Так что есть смысл восстанавливать только дорогую и любимую обувь. Да и вообще, вот по стирала я кросовки, краской для восстановления замши (не профессиональной) "попщикала" и сама удивилась - как новые (четыре года не аккуратной носки пережили). Мы сами можем быть волшебниками. Если бы были проблемы с подошвой я бы не справилась, это профессионал только исправить может.
It may look easy but don't forget allthe dust you have to deal with and smell of all the chemicals including glue smell repair people is dealing with. Please do not underestimate all the work this video is showing since I was there few hours and very difficult place to do deal with for long periods of time.

@@theimmortalphoenix6562 yes -- trace your foot and send it in to them via snail mail (the instructions for this are on their website). they'll be a little tight at first, and then they will fit perfectly after a few wearings. they are THE most comfortable shoes. their customer service is great -- if the shoes don't become comfortable they'll make it right.

Как то в Чуйской степи порвалась у меня подошва у берцев, полностью развалилась. Из куска шины вырезал подошву, из обрывков пленки ПХВ сварил клей и приклеил. Еще неделю ходил в "новых" ботинках. Потом отвез их на дачу и там еще пару лет пользовал :)
@@АгронДепартье Пленка работает не как клей (я оговорился), а впитываясь в шершавую поверхность буквально вплавляется в материал. Сейчас почти все подошвы не приклеиваются, а вплавляются в обувь.

It is interesting to see the various wear patterns on these restorations. For example this one I thought the sole wear not in line with the upper and quite a bit of disparity between the 2 shoes. A bit fun to envision what could have been the reasons or how it came about. Little footwear mysteries. 😁 I too prefer no annoying background music. (If I want to hear music or something in the background I can play whatever suits me. LOL)
I have my leather shoes i bought it on garage sale on good condition years ago... i used it everyday because my friends said it a very nice shoes... and now its worn out with brittle amd torn leather areas... i already have it repaired many times... retained the old sole and patch a new one... i love this shoes so much i kept it until now... i just wish i can take a picture and just show it to this site.

Есть такое понятие как "характер кожи", который приобретается со временем носки. Это и царапины и патина, и утрачивание цвета в некоторых областях кожи, заломы(creases). Всё это - естественное состояние кожи, состаривание кожи. Отсюда она и получает свой характер. В данном случае обувь типа закрытых сандалей, возможно, так и будет лучше. Но в большинстве случаев я бы не стал использовать колировку кожи, дабы сохранить её характер.

Nothing brings me greater joy than watching the sudsy scrubbing parts. Literally could just watch those on repeat.
I love watching different types of restoration videos.
