g-man is watching shepard. Plot twist: this marine is watching g-man watching shepard, concerned if g-man is watching shepart the right way. NEXT VIDEO SERIES ABOUT MYSTERIOUS MARINE CONFIRMED !
I have a feeling G-man just loves to observe these thrilling situations Gordon and Shepard get to just to see their reactions and how they get through them... It definitely feels like G-man knows they will happen and perhaps even the outcome, but he just can't help himself and has to be there as he mentioned he is fascinated by them :).
I half expected to hear the Azure Sheep voice acting for Gordon when i saw him shooting the houndeyes with the glock. I also recognize that one Shepard model from AS at 4:45.
we don't see a lot of g man but behind the scenes I'm sure he's teleporting all over making little Nudges to make sure everything is going according to plan
You know, after this video I've got an idea: What if there was a game, where you play as G-Man (or G-Man like character), and your task is hire agents from different places of time and space, send them to some specific missions and manage them by spectating how they're doing, sometimes use your powers to remove some obstacles (like trigger some monster to attack military and distract them from agent), or just open the path. And also, you need to do all of this perfectly, otherwise... *PREPARE FOR UNFORSEEN CONSEQUENCES*
6:22 i've never understood this part, there was hecu forces in xen too or the skybox is wrong? Excellent video, i like this content about my favourite games
Technology limitations prevents the skybox changing mid-level, so it still looks like Xen, though the intention was a Black Mesa desert scene at night. You can see this fixed in the PlayStation 2 port.
I was convinced G-Man showed up in every chapter in Black Mesa in the original Half Life, it seems he was more of a presence in Adriane's Campaign than he was Gordan's
I'm assuming most of the time you have an NPC to act like player characters and play as G-Man yourself. But sometimes you use G-Man's POV as a fixed camera and control Adrian or Gordon.
So, g-man was not having a super secret conversation, he really just heard "nacomolfol a a afol lo com com hof a como a fo com fo col col col col col a nacomolfol ac"
Very early on in 1999, there was a planned official expansion for a young g-man called Half Life: Hostile Takeover but unfortunately it never came into fruition.
Uplink is supposedly 48 hours after the resonance cascade, and so canonically takes place _after_ Freeman is "hired" in the space tram. He already has the hazard suit that GMan let him keep, but no weapons. This doesn't exactly gel with the tactical nuke that GMan sets off in Opposing Force, but Uplink came out months before OpFor's release, and Valve and Gearbox may not have communicated about it, or they didn't think it was all that important. One way for both to be valid is if Shephard has a slow teleport at some point like happens to Freeman in Half-Life 2. Since no-one tells him, he has no way to find out that this happened, and so GMan could well have blown up Black Mesa well after the events of Uplink. There are, of course, many, many times that Shephard teleports, including with the displacer cannon, but my bet is that it would be the Xen teleport from the same Lambda lab chamber where Freeman also goes to Xen. Alternatively, maybe Uplink takes place at a facility far enough away from Black Mesa that it wasn't affected by the nuke. TL;DR Uplink should perhaps be at some point before Shephard comes back from Xen or maybe at the end of the video, but definitely not at the beginning.
makes you wonder why Valve never turned this exciting gameplay into it's own expansion
