I grew a mullet and a stache just listening to this. Then I put on my aviators, went and bought a silver 1980 T-Top 'Vette.

I am a Boomer, and I love this channel! These remarkable old tunes bring back so many diverse memories I go from smiling to having my old eyes well up with tears from those fond and not-so-fond recollections. The 1970s were meaningful to all of us old Boomers ... most of us were just going out on our first dates in the 60s and 70, and many of these songs were what we heard on those first dates. I miss those days! So, here's to all of my Boomer Brothers and Sisters, God Bless and be with you all in our much-maligned and misunderstood generation! (EDIT, New Sub here from The Netherlands!)

Was in Jr high and high school in the 70's(class of 78). This is the soft rock tunes of that time. What a time it was.
Road trip from Seattle to Tucson and these collections made the trip a breeze! Great memories and a few I hadn't heard in years!

All the songs you're playing are good, but Nicolette's "Lotta Love", is still one of my favorite songs of all time.
I am a millenial(Almost 31 years old in 2 weeks from today.) But I love this playlist. Reminds me of the music my mom played on her record player when I was growing up. And the music she played on road trips. I have vivid memories of first hearing "Kiss on My List" in the eighth grade on a road trip to Virginia. My mom had a massive stroke on September 27, 2020 and can no longer drive. But she listens to this type of music. We currently live 6 1/2 hours from each other. But this playlist makes me feel just a little bit closer to her.

Just amazing! I was born in '63. These were the tunes of my hs and college days. I have Sirius Xm and this blows their Yacht Rock channel away. Just in awe at the sheer volume of vinyl you have. And the condition it's in... Outstanding channel. Outstanding music!

Just discovered/found this channel. It’s almost 4am here in nyc. Been in and out this channel since yesterday. This is amazing cool and very much needed vibes in 2024. Before cell phones, before MTV (back when MTV actually played music videos) and radio has playing hits and someone else’s favorite song. You had to have a great voice and stage presentation and musicians who played instruments. As a person listened to the radio and brought vinyl albums and 45’s singles, sometimes you discovered a hidden treasure on the flip side on the 45 single. Thank you for this channel and you super chill music and vibes.
Heard about yacht rock a couple years ago but tbh I never stopped listening to this music. I think it's kinda funny that people are saying "I haven't heard these songs in years'.
I just assumed all GenXers ( like me) & even boomers were rocking their classic rock and easy 70s, 80s playlists all these years.
Some of these tracks are not on my playlists but many are.
That being said, with the exception of a few handful of songs that I didn't like then or now, the majority of these yacht playlists are stellar.

Great stuff. This was during an era when music was at a crossroads (late 70s-early 80s); disco was fading away and mainstream musicians were putting out soft rock/pop ballads. At the same time, New Wave was also on the scene and even country music was on top 40 radio.
Great description of this era! It was an amazing time. At no other period in pop music history could you hear artists as diverse as Kiss, Juice Newton and Earth, Wind & Fire all played within a half hour on the same radio station.

Such a great song. What's so interesting is that while he is an absolute legend in the UK, Cliff Richard has been almost completely forgotten in the US.

Didn't get my mullet until the late '80's, rockin' out in my 'Vette (the Chev-vette kind) with FOUR 6x9's screaming from a wood cabinet & a "Roadmaster" amp, and a tray of cassette tapes in the back stocked w/ VH, & lots of metal -- was quite the headbanger. Wish I could have those disks back in my neck...
I grew up in the 70's listening to this music on an old transistor radio and OMG!, this brings back so many good memories. Thank you so much, you are nothing short of amazing.
