  • In this video I used a Kodak Slide N Scan film scanner to capture a few frames of 16mm film. The intention is not to scan a movie, but to inspect a few frames at a time.

Thank you for this review. What would you advice if I need to scan 16mm film and would like to obtain a good quality image.

Thanks for watching! For small movie formats like 16mm & Super 8 there is nothing better than professional scanners. If you want to scan a few 16mm or S8 as I do often a DSLR setup is the best option in my opinion. If you are talking about 110 the still photo format that uses 16mm film a DSLR setup is the best option too. 110 would render much better result since the frame is much bigger than 16.
If you are not famiiar with DSLR scanning setups you can see the one I made here:
      ruclips.net/video/uXIOqdKelnY/видео.html
There are more professional options in the market, but in the end it's a very simple concept. By the end of the video you will see some examples of 110 pictures that I "scanned" using the setup and some 16mm movie film too.

So if I have undeveloped 16mm film, can I use it with this machine to see what I have recorded? Can I do the same with super8? Thanks!!

No, film must be processed before you can see an image, period. There is no way you can see what's in the film without developing.
The scanner allows you to see what's in the film once it is processed. There is no Super 8 holder for the scanner, but you can insert any translucent material and the scanner will show an image ob the screen. The resolution would be very limited if you use it to scan S8.
