This was one of the first things Matt and I ever filmed together, and we decided to put it up for those few steelhead fisherman, still going after em this year! (Also, this is great content that you can refer back to at anytime, so make sure to hit the "Save For Later Button")
I go over how I tie up worms, both regular and wacky, for steelhead!
There is no "right" or "wrong" way to do it - either work great depending on the situation and how they are presented to fish. Its just one MORE arrow in your steelhead quiver.
Let me know which you prefer and what works best in your experience!
    Good luck out there!

I went to Michael's Craft Store. I found the same foam. But, it doesn't have slits in it. It only costs 99 cents and $$ 1.69 per sheet. I noticed Sportsman's wants 7 bucks for the same stuff. Cabela's wants 8 bucks for the same foam material. Michael's also has scrap booking boxes on sale for 5 bucks. They fit the worms and the foam sheets. I also found boxes for beads for 3 bucks.

I have yet to catch a fish on a rubber worm, however I've done well with live crawlers. One of these days though the rubber one will hook up! Thanks for the great info and explanations

It's similar to how I thread real nightcrawlers great video I love how you're not shy about using big gear for big fish like some people do when they're catching trout size steelhead

The worm still eludes me! I’ve caught steelies on the bead, bobber and egg, plunking and spinner! Heck my pb steely came from a tiny panther Martin trout fishing on the first day of may a few years back. It took forever to land on my trout rod. I guess I just need to keep trying the worm. Love the videos ash!! I just finished your kayak crab video before this one.

Thank you! Worms can save an otehrwaise slow day. Their size and profile really make a difference in murky water conditions. As long as your catching em on other things, dont stress about trying the worms!

I have never seen anyone rig up the worms like that, everyone I see will use a jig with the worm , but I like the way you rig them up better thanks so much, now another trick for my arsenal.🤫🤫🤫

When you said Maxima I knew you were a serious steelheader. Tie up a bunch ahead of time because the more time you spend fishing instead of rigging up the better your chance of catching. 1000 casts!

I watched this video and thought why such a large hook. Then I saw some of the fish you catch, it might be a little small. Good detail on the way you rig the worms, my hooks will be somewhat smaller, #2 or #4. The fish still taste great and fight like hell.

Thanks for the tutorial on rigging at home. I'm gonna follow your lead and pre rig 2 of each color I have, one regular and one wacky per colr. Would you go suspended float, bobber dogging or bottom bouncing with these leaders?
