    Ada Limón is the author of The Hurting Kind, as well as five other collections of poems. These include, most recently, The Carrying, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award and was named a finalist for the PEN/Jean Stein Book Award, and Bright Dead Things, which was named a finalist for the National Book Award, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the Kingsley Tufts Award. Limón is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, and her work has appeared in the New Yorker, the New York Times, and American Poetry Review, among others. She is the new host of American Public Media’s weekday poetry podcast The Slowdown. Born and raised in California, she now lives in Lexington, Kentucky.
    Rebecca Lindenberg is the author of Love, an Index (McSweeney’s) and The Logan Notebooks (Mountain West Poetry Series), winner of the 2015 Utah Book Award. She’s the recipient of an Amy Lowell Traveling Poetry Fellowship, an NEA Literature Grant, an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award, and residential fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and the MacDowell Arts Colony. Her work appears more recently in the American Poetry Review, Tin House, Tupelo Quarterly, the Best American Poetry 2019, and elsewhere. She’s a member of the poetry faculty at the University of Cincinnati, where she also serves as poetry editor for the Cincinnati Review.

    Watching this on my mother’s ten year deathiversary and when Ada read Open Water and got to the last line where her step mother was ten years gone......oooof.
