Many people get confused with its location and assume it to be part of Maldives. Lakshadweep Island is located in the Indian Ocean, closer to Kerala. It is very beautiful island with one of the best coral reefs and marine life.
My holiday to Lakshadweep Island was planned way back in 2014, but somehow, I actually did it in 2019 and I cherished all the moments on the island. We selected Bangaram Island for the stay and experienced all water activities including scuba, snorkeling and kayaking. Apart from Bangaram island, there are other Lakshadweep islands like Kavaratti, Kadmat, Kalpeni, Minicoy, Thinnakara and Agatti where Lakshadweep Airport is also located. Lakshadweep vlog shares all the activities we did on the Bangaram island.

Hello, Bangaram island has only one stay option. Each island has their own stay options and not like many hotels on one island. They are open at the moment but rules keep changing, so please check on tourism website before booking.

Thank you for your comment!!! I hope to do this in future, so subscribe to support this. You should definitely plan trip to Lakshadweep, winter is best time but you can also visit during summers. It’s closed during monsoon.. if you plan in advance it can be done at cheaper cost. Checkout the tourism website to know the cost. Sure, mera travel solo nahi tha, family k sath tha. I visited Bangaram island. Bangaram sabse expensive wala island hai, waha per night stay 15k hai. Other islands are cheaper with 5k per night. Depends on island, overall cost will differ.

Hello, I booked directly through the tourism website. Bangaram island is expensive, total 3 night stay at Bangaram including flight (from Mumbai), food, transfer, activities and taxes costed me 1.25 lakh per couple. More detail in my blog eatravelandfun.com/lakshadweep-island-travel-guide/
Lovely video you have created , what camera were you using for underwater photography ?
In such travel videos ,you should always mention the cost of the tour and of various activities , so that that travellers have a rough clue on the spending involved .So , what was the travel cost per person ?
Thank you for your lovely comment!! For underwater photography, I have used GoPro camera. Yes I have got similar feedback on involving cost. Will do for next videos, breakdown of the cost. The reason why I didn’t included cuz it’s not a budget trip and mentioning high cost isn’t really highlight on videos. For this trip, our cost pp was approx 50k.

Hello, Cost of the package depends on the which island and type of accommodation you select, the basic non ac as cost as low as 5k per night to 15k per night. The flight cost is not included in the package. It’s only stay with transfer from agatti (approx 2k per way). @@mohd.moinulislam346 Yes, everyone needs permit to enter Lakshadweep, even Indian's. It is available on their website. You get the permit 7 Days before your arrival date to Lakshadweeep. Everything needs to be booked before you apply for the permit 15 days prior to arrival date.

Flight is most expensive.. it costed me 11k return for flight and stay was 15k per night in Bangaram island including food and 4K transfer from agatti to Bangaram.. rest is activity cost

Your welcome !!! Honestly I haven’t done Maldives yet. In terms of Island beauty, both have similar as they are next to each other. Only thing makes them apart is stay experience. Maldives is more of luxury whereas Lakshadweep is more raw and no luxury (except stay in Bangaram island which is little luxury).

There is no procedure as such.. you need to book your stay and get the permit from the tourism board to visit !!

Thank you for your comment .. stay in Bangaram Island costed around 1lakh for a couple inclusive of stay, flight n activity. Yes, it is good for toddler, we have travelled with 2 year old baby and he had fun. Only problem is traveling to the island which takes 3 modes of transportation (flight, car and boat), but you can opt for helicopters, if you have the budget.

The said expense is for a couple (2 people), Bangaram per night cost if INR 15,000. We stayed for 3 nights. Flights to Agatti from Mumbai and back is most expensive. We booked via Govt website. You can contact Travel Agents as well who are mentioned on the Govt website.
Yes you can do that but doing to many split stay wont make sense as you have to come to main island (Agatti and go to another). Bangaram and Thinakara are close to each other, split stay between them will be manageable. Other islands like kadmat or Kavaratti will be longer journey.

Hello. Thank you for your comment. Glad that you liked it. We stayed in Bangaram island, it cost INR 15k per room per night. There are other island which are cheaper at INR 5000 a night. Flight is most expensive, around 11k from kochi you agatti and back. If booked in advance you can get cheaper rate. Rest is activity cost and island transfer. Bangaram island is expensive, it cost 15K per night per night inclusive of stay and all meals. There are some heritage taxes and transportation cost from Agatti island which are around 5K return.
