    I had a CAC 3 years ago at age 63 when I started zero carb. My score was 5. Just had 2nd CAC. Score is 0. I’ve cheated some during holidays but this WOE has actually cleaned my coronary arteries.

      Just had my first CAC scan last week -- I didn't know about them when I started keto 4 years ago.
      I've had high cholesterol for 20+ years. My CAC score is 6.1. Essentially clear at my age (56).
      I will do another test next year to get a trend, but since I'm not worried I'm nowhere near a "bad" score.

    This is so encouraging. I have HBP and I started Keto about a month ago. I’ve seen a lot of changes in my body, my blood pressure is still high but I’m trusting the process. 🤞

      My father saw improvements after 3 days, even more so after a week. Have you lost weight during that month? Are you a tall person? Taller people have a higher normal blood pressure.
      Have you gotten to the point to combine intermittent fasting? It's very complimentary with keto. I usually eat once or twice a day.

    After my heart attack I decided to look at my hi carb low fat diet. Just like I was taught as a child, the food pyramind almost killed me. Its out and I find many Dr's still support all that carb. I am looking at people who succeed now or do not follow the food pyramid. I have nothing to lose, the expert view almost killed me. This guy sounds honest at least and can think outside the box.

    This video should be compulsory viewing for Cardiologist and people responsible for health policy.

    • @stevenlovett643
      @stevenlovett643 5 лет назад +6

      The problem is, those 'responsible' for health policy aren't interested in health. Even Goldman Sachs stated that a medical system based on healing is not a sustainable business plan. Medicine is based on a business plan which is about profit, you need repeat business to be successful, what better way to do that than to be close pals with the food industry, take control of medical training, ignore cause, look only at management of symptoms by declaring chemical warfare on the body - guaranteed more disease and more 'customers'. My health has never once been improved by any doctor I've seen but it has always deteriorated, when I looked at the inserts once of the meds I was taking I found that the new sysmptoms I was experiencing was due to the meds, what they call 'side effects' are actually known diseases, so whatever happened to 'do no harm' ? Not only did my doctor not pick up on this but the cardiologist I saw due to the new symptoms I was getting INCREASED the dosage of the med LOL.I read the insert, stopped taking the meds, researched diet guidelines etc, came across all this knowledge, lost over 40lbs in weight, and no more symptoms all clear. I'll be 60 in Sept and now have the BP of a 17 yr old - is my doctor interested ? Not in the least. So, they all made me worse and I made myself better - why should I ever trust another thing so called doctors say ? They aren't interested in healing.

    I am glad to see a cardiologist talking about this. I have an abnormality and have just been referred to a cardiologist for an angiogram. The guy is so dismissive. He accused me of having poorly managed diabetes when not knowing my A1C 2 weeks ago was 6.0. He pushed statins even though my vvldl is in normal range. I am pretty pissed with him. Edit, maybe this doctor would have pushed statins for me too.

    I had a high coronary calcium score, but only mildly elevated total cholesterol, Moderately elevated LDL level, lower HDL levels and a1c lower than 6.0% for years, but had a smaller, almost total blockage in my LAD where the calcium score was 1309. Total was 1931 though. Always battling inflammation I assume. Am prediabetic.

    my dilemma is I am trying to lower my A1C number and keep it down .....recently I have by cut way down on all types of carbs, and I have have now lowered my A1C number significantly ( 5.5 ) I also exercise every day.......however I have incorporated a lot more eggs, cheese , meats into my diet and was recently scolded by my cardiologist ( I am also a heart patient )....can you recommend a diet to keep my A1C down and that is also heart healthy...

    • @l00neyville
      @l00neyville 3 года назад +3

      That's old school doctor talk. Anything animal based has cholesterol so the constant insistence is to avoid them and substitute with vegetables, fruit, grains and seed oils. Saturated animal fat is perfectly healthy for the heart. If you have the type A profile LDL particles then the overall high LDL is not a problem. With this a higher HDL should follow with low TGC.
      Type A profile would mean that most of your LDL particles are healthy and are NOT small, oxidized, glycated (Type B profile).

    Strange, but my GP doesn't believe in Calcium Scoring as he told me that it shows built up calcium, not atherosclerosis. I asked for a referral to have one and he refused. Like my twin brother, I figured it was the only way of silencing the continual marketing of statins. My brother's GP said "I don't know what to do - I can't find anything wrong with you...!" I gather it's time for a second opinion?
