Watching this game in 2020. FSU had better athletes on the field. That was when FSU was landing number 1 and 2 recruiting classes. I’m a Clemson fan but we escaped luckily. The low block was a phantom block. That called back a huge play. Then the Dalvin Cook dropped pass. I definitely felt lucky then. What a game though. I miss FSU being good like that. Dalvin Cook was a thorn in our side. Boy I was watching our defense. It’s different now. We play more three man down sets. Also we blitz from all over now. This year we are getting sacks but they are coming from every position. The D line even tho we have potential isn’t as strong as I would like. This D line put a lot more pressure on the QB than the one we have now. We have the potential to have the best D line ever at Clemson but it is just potential. The way Clemson is playing right now we are becoming an amoeba defense. More Hybrid. The QBs are all so mobile that we are opting for more speed on the field. The down line more and more is three. If you have four down with an elusive QB you run the risk of him escaping.

(26:05) #4 The pass interference penalty that wasn't called after #15 Rudolph got mugged by the same DB who was flagged for PI before this one. So, instead of having 1st & 10 at Clemson's 34 yard line and the likelihood of getting another score, the penalties put us back on our own 9 yard line.

Defense make big stops and be aggressive every step every second of the game. Great job to Murray on catching the ball and protecting it and making good moments. Stevenson way to run the ball, just keep those legs going and you will make it to the promise land. Francois stay tough keep your eyes and legs moving for opportunity. The refs on the other hand need to be fired for making bad calls like the targeting and the flag after that for no reason, and for not making a call for Clemson's big hit on Francois, and for saying the TD early in the game was a incomplete. And no, the guys in the black and white uniforms didn't cost the Noles the game, the guys in the orange and white uniforms did. Although the Noles' O-line didn't do them many favors. Loosing Dalvin next year will hurt but I think improved line play and an improved francois will ensure the offense stays formidable because Patrick is the real deal as well. The called pass interference against Clemson if the db even touched the receiver. Ridiculous. Some calls went against FSU but a lot of them helped them tremendously not to mention the two interceptions while Clemson was driving. Jimbo Fisher has every right to be mad at referees. Two huge wrong penalties at crucial times cost Florida State the game. These two wrong calls by referees changed the outcome of the game.

I am for calling all legitimate penalties on both sides. But it was obvious the ones against Florida State were more outrageous and came at a crucial part of the game, and effectively robbed the Seminoles of valuable opportunity to move the ball and score. Without these wrong calls, most likely the Seminoles could have won the game.
Zack, correctly calling holding on FSU in the end zone would have been huge. It would have tied the game and given the ball to Clemson in great field position. That's far bigger than Jimbo's stupid block penalty.

The previous referees screw ups changed the psychology of the team, and did affect their subsequent performance. It is a game of momentum, and their momentum was sabotaged by the Referees minutes earlier. Granted, their Offensive line was sloppy subsequently and failed to protect their QB, but without the two lousy calls they could have put the game out of reach for Clemson.

They could run block but pass blocking was foreign. They were highly recruited guys but the coaches either couldn’t develop talent or didn’t try. Some guys that are highly recruited don’t want coaching. It’s what makes Clemson great. They pick talent to fit their system. They develop that talent. They recruit different than any team. Jimbo would over recruit certain positions. The talent level in this game favored FSU. That being said Clemson has continued to develop talent. They make players better. The called pass interference against Clemson if the db even touched the receiver. Ridiculous. Some calls went against FSU but a lot of them helped them tremendously not to mention the two interceptions while Clemson was driving. Clemson needs to stop turning the ball over if they are going to beat any of the other top five teams.

Jimbo Fisher has every right to be mad at referees. Two huge wrong penalties at crucial times cost Florida State the game. These two wrong calls by referees changed the outcome of the game.
how bout the holding call in the endzone that would have been a safety? or the guy hanging on to watson's face mask for like 5 minutes that wasn't called?... or do those not matter?
I am for calling all legitimate penalties on both sides. But it was obvious the ones against Florida State were more outrageous and came at a crucial part of the game, and effectively robbed the Seminoles of valuable opportunity to move the ball and score. Without these wrong calls, most likely the Seminoles could have won the game.
Zack, correctly calling holding on FSU in the end zone would have been huge. It would have tied the game and given the ball to Clemson in great field position. That's far bigger than Jimbo's stupid block penalty.
FSU has the ball outside Clemson's 30, 1st and 10. Chance to tie or win the game in the remaining minute. How did the offense of FSU respond? False start, False start, sack, sack, incomplete pass, sack. Is the FSU offensive line play the referees' fault as well?
The previous referees screw ups changed the psychology of the team, and did affect their subsequent performance. It is a game of momentum, and their momentum was sabotaged by the Referees minutes earlier. Granted, their Offensive line was sloppy subsequently and failed to protect their QB, but without the two lousy calls they could have put the game out of reach for Clemson.

Clemson would have went on to be Clemson. It was Destiny my friend. That O Line was terrible. The team got worse steadily. Jimbo recruited well except for o line. They could run block but pass blocking was foreign. They were highly recruited guys but the coaches either couldn’t develop talent or didn’t try. Some guys that are highly recruited don’t want coaching. It’s what makes Clemson great. They pick talent to fit their system. They develop that talent. They recruit different than any team. Jimbo would over recruit certain positions. The talent level in this game favored FSU. That being said Clemson has continued to develop talent. They make players better. You never see those guys with high expectations bust at Clemson. Now Clemson is hitting on top five Nd three recruiting classes. Clemson has rules. They don’t recruit the biggest linebackers. They recruit smart players. The top pick off of Clemson’s team last year was a three star lb safety hybrid. Came in as a three star left in the first round. Hunter Renfrow. Walk on. Drafted and starts for the Raiders. This one game wouldn’t have done all that.
