    I enjoyed this very much. Sir Henry Sinclair is my 18th great-grandfather. I visited Orkney and Scotland this summer to return to the old homelands. Wanderlust is still in the blood.

    I stayed in the hall of tankerness a few years ago. It was an air b and b . The place is steeped in Sinclair history. There is a graveyard in the gardens where the Sinclair’s are buried.
    I think there was an exchange/swap/deal of navel tactics from the Vikings ( king haakon ) to stone mason techniques from Sinclair to king haakon. First time the Vikings meet masons .
    Magnus cathedral is unbelievable.
    Did the architecture technology in Norway improve since when haakon met the sinclairs

    Really interesting video :) thanks for the history lesson. I didn’t know about this voyage.
    I live near the folly you spoke of (shared by northern mudlarks channel) It is on the Fife coastal path here in Scotland. This structure was built in 1770ish and it is called “Lady’s Tower” built for Lady Anstruther. She used it as a viewing point and to rest after her regular bathing in the river :)
    Lots of folly’s in UK especially on wealthy estates, where they would build an ancient looking ruin in their gardens/on their land to mimic the real ancient towers/ruins.

    Hello Jeff,
    This is a very interesting story, certainly not one that I was ever taught. I do enjoy hearing and learning about this sort of history and about the "technology" of the distant past. A lot of people are surprised at how advanced some of our ancestors really were. Many of my son's friends seem to think that all the people that lived before about 1900 lived in caves or tents and knew nothing of how the world worked. They are both amazed and doubtful when I explain how the ancients navigated, or farmed, and that many of the tools they invented are still in use today.
    I really wonder what the schools are teaching these days.
    Thanks again.

    The name Pictou derives from the Mi'kmaq name Piktuk, meaning "explosive place", a reference to the river of pitch that was found in the area, or perhaps from methane bubbling up from coal seams below the harbour. It is also said Pictou is named after an old province in France called Poitou. ..but it's only a short distance from Guysburough as far as seeing smoke rising in the distance from a river of pitch;)

    I enjoyed your talk. I'm very interested in the Oak Island mystery. Sinclair comes up frequently. Jacob Robert's, a fan of the mystery and very close friend of Chris Donah, who passed away suddenly last year, wrote a recent book that may interest you. He decrypted the Shakespeare funerary plaque, showing it in a step-by-step methodical way, and learned that it was an Autobiography of Sir Francis Bacon. In it, Bacon revealed many aliases which he used, including Shakespeare. One of his favorites was sailing the high seas with Sir Francis Drake as his navigator/astronomer/cartographer, while his staff in England portrayed him as sickly behind his curtained bed. Another bombshell was that he was Samuel Champlain after his "philosophical death" in England. Jake has a RUclips channel, primarily from fans of the show "Curse of Oak Island," which you may want to check out- "Ghosts of Bacon." It seems like the mystery is something you might enjoy. Jake believes that the Templars had hidden Salmon's treasures in Scotland (Rosslyn Chapel) and were the responsibility of King James VI of Scotland (who turns out to be Bacon's half brother) wanted a better place for them and sent Bacon to Oak Island to better hide them.

    I enjoyed your presentation and would, as a descendant of the McLellan's of Kirkcudbright Galloway, offer some maps and documents to assist you in future research. 1) The Catalan Atlas of 1375, 2) The Lost Language of Braveheart and Robert de Bruce King of Scotts, 3) Viking Sunstones and the Catalan Atlas, and 4) The Land of Pu (Bu). All necessary in the reasons for the Magna Carta which led to the modern NATO. Also, you might find of interest the Chinese world map of 1417 by Zhung he and the harbor logs of Kirkcudbright Bay. Doc

    • @ThunderboltWisdom
      @ThunderboltWisdom 2 года назад

      The Magna Carta was basically a charter between the king and his lords which allowed them the ability to better carve up the land between them. It was nothing to do with normal people and only guaranteed the feudal property rights that kept so many folk in indentured servitude. This charter in no way has anything to do with the formation of NATO. Absolutely nothing. It wasn't a constitution, didn't give normal people rights, was only applicable in England, and certainly not Scotland.
      And I'd check where you're getting your information, since I have no idea what the "lost language of braveheart" is, especially since braveheart is just a modern movie.
      Just the opinion of a Scot. 🤓🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

    The mention of Zeno of Venice is very relevant. That Venetian Galley likely had galley slaves, the main source of Venice's wealth - See Riva degli Schiavoni.
    Christians were routinely for sale there. So the question what Zeno was actually doing so far north - looking for manpower? And what if christian Sinclair found out about that? Venice was the billionaire club of the time with the best intelligence service, fleet, and had just gone through the greatest bank collapse of history, the Bardi and Peruzzi collapse which opened the door to the Black Death with rampant famine. And Venice funded the 4 Crusades, involving the Templar"s . It is no surprise the British Empire pushed slavery to all its colonies. Yet the question remains - did Sinclair have any idea what he got into?

    Since the Norse had reached the coast of Canada by the year 1000, certainly the KNOWLEDGE of the "New World" had been known by the elites of Norway and Denmark for 400 years by the time Henry Sinclair COULD have made a voyage there. Certainly, something that would NOT be "extraordinary".

    See Wikipedia for the various points of evidence that are disproved. There is in fact, a contemporary mill in England of the same design, which does have a fireplace in it. Any argument that English colonists couldn't have afforded the time and cost needed to construct the tower apply doubly to a passing expedition. Also, the Knights Templar were destroyed 90 years before the alleged date of the expedition. And then there is the motivation that the Zeno family would have had in 1556 to forge documents establishing a Venetian claim to North America.

    • @deees3176
      @deees3176 4 года назад +2

      well That seems both highly speculative and inconsistent ...Who from england? without any extant other evidence of boat, crew, events? But was rich enough to have enough ocean going vessels? Jeff's summary shows multiple points of consistent evidence: quality boats and sailors, knight grave carvings w Gunn crest, documented access to a venetian cannon mfg pre1400, coinciding pronunciation of Sinclair in scotch language with "Glooscap" , Zeno map. too many coincedences to ignore. And despite your comment about a "mill" of similar design, that makes no sense. no indians built that mill, no colonists were there, and no one would build a working structure with doors all around in rhode island...too cold! Then there is more that happened later: This map became map given to Portugese when isabel wanted to fund columbus. So yes, Sinclair discovered the new world, if discovered means lived there, explored multiple places, mapped it, and brought back real accounts of interactions, and left evidence. At least way more than Columbus I'd say! Nice piece Jeff.

    God made this happen in the past so that Scottish could be a Knight's Tale predating the Columbus Discovery of America by a hundred years. There is no evidence of Columbus landing in America. The Sinclair Voyage is to bring the Holy Grail as a Cup to Canada to Nova Scotia on Oak Island. I am the Holy Grail Natalie Helferty as God's Body and went back inntime to film the Sinclair Voyage and the Columbus Voyage. This is in My Movie The Queen Natalie Helferty My Life. Mary Magdalene is the Virgin Mary and was in Bethlehem with Jesus Christ in 1600 but they were not birthed there 2000 years ago as a New Testament Tale by the British of England. I read the History of Henry Sinclair from books in the Library so that is real history. There is no books on the Royalty of Britain in the library. I checked. There is no books on the Royalty of Canada either. The King James Bible is the Living History of the Royalty of Canada in the Presbyterian Churches so Scottish would know it. The Scottish support the Holy Grail and the Lightbringer and the Knights Templar as the Royalty of Jesus Christ. That is Us from 2000. The past Royalty of Canada had their names stolen by England Pretenders To The Throne. So follow the Spirit with you as God is leading everybody to Christ's Second Coming. Through Egypt and ending their journey in Scotland and England. But concerning the things that furnished the temple, that took some muscle. Thus it would have been many men.
