Do you remember the aged man and his companion? The woman in the water in his cellar? He was a prophet, too and the woman in the water was his Calia (see the statues in his manor). You chose the same ending to the story he did (even with the same companion). After a few millennia he didn't seem too happy with his decision. Hope your prophetess will be happier with her decision. :) I chose catharsis for this reason. Enderal is just the best story driven role playing game of the last ~25 years. Period.
Woah wait really? The Aged was the previous prophet?? That's SO cool!!! I did not make that connection at all. That's absolutely wild holy cow! I dont think i would regret that decision but i guess if i waited all that time for everything to start up again, and it still failed, that sucks... Thank you for sharing that! and I'm going to have to agree with you on it being one of the best story driven in a long time!!! I am glad i played it!
@ProudBeard_ you skipped some dialogue with the black guardian about him, the aged man was there way before the black guardian and if you replay the quest involving him now, knowing the end and these twists, it's fairly obvious if you pay close attention to the details in his manor and during the dialogues with the aged man. RUclipsr ParadigmOfLow has an exploration video about this, if you don't want to replay and still know this.
@@narve7337 yeah I guess I was so tunnel visioned being so close to the end and the excitement that was bringing with it. I must’ve overlooked it and it slipped passed me. I will definitely check out their video for sure though!!! Thanks 😊
@@ProudBeard_ That's no surprise. I can only recommend replaying the game at a really slow pace and paying close attention to the side quests and unmarked quests told through the environment in Enderal. That's when you notice how well written it actually is. There are so many hints regarding the main story. The Cleansing can be found in so many places (bard songs for example!) and there are so many hints everywhere but still you only notice them when you look at them while already in the picture of the main story. Just a few examples: * The Aged man (what I already hinted at) * the starling tinker quest, where you see how the black guardian actually came to be * Zar'Ah from the last Rhalata quest and her link to Jespar * The Cleansing being literally described in the lyrics of the Winter Sky bard song They really took their time to develop a fully thought through world. It's truely remarkable. No one is abled to notice even half of it on their first playthrough. it's impossible.
@@narve7337 I agree that is a lot of context to be given almost from the moment you start playing. Not knowing a lot of that stuff though didn’t hinder my experience with the game at all. Which goes to show the talented writers still being able to tell their story without me having to find a random book in a random dungeon to tell me what’s going on. You know? I still had an incredible and enjoyable time being in the world and learning what I have. I’m not sure if I’ll play it again any time soon so I will certainly check out that video you recommended! Again, I do apologize if I missed context (probably most of it was super obvious) but I still had fun nonetheless, and I appreciate you telling me all that. And from my understanding, there is a book related to this story but it follow Jespar? I’m definitely going to check that out too!!
Thank you for this let´s play!
You’re welcome! And Thank YOU for watching. I greatly appreciate it. Stay tuned for what’s next 😊
