Then, at the very last minute it is discovered that 10 nuclear missiles have been launched at the US. The EAS tries to get information out quick, but it is possibly too late for that.

it's been two years since I requested this. so you guys know what it's about, lemme give you the low-down. The EAS is activated on a national level,but it can't transmit information cause almost every station doesn't have enough power (they aren't participating in EAN's), so they would be dummy stations, you wouldn't get anything out of them. The only station to have sufficient power is Channel 8, which is Las Vegas' and Nevada's primary station (where this EAS scenario is taking place). However the first time around, there are cuts in the parts of the important bits (I thought theEASexperience would put white noise instead but that's good still), so basically the transmission is faulty The second time around, the information is then passed on. Keep in mind, the scenario DOES go over ten minutes (the purpose of the EAS is to allow the President to communicate with the USA in ten minutes at most), so if the President talked to the US, everyone in Las Vegas would be totally and/or royally fucked since they wouldn't have any decipherable/guessable information.
I honestly think this one is the most terrifying simply because you don't know what's going on until it's too late (and I live in Vegas so I'd be screwed)

What's scary is that this is the exact EAN script and is likely what would really be heard in a nuclear attack. We would not have any clear information until it's too late.

You should do one on a Martian invasion of Earth like in the book The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells. It’ll start of with the EAS announcement saying that after an unusual object crashing into Earth from Mars, large Tripod machines started to appear and attack cities, town, airports, docks, and military installations. Or you can do one with a Black Hole or Neutron Star entering our solar system.
I have another idea. Make another nuclear attack scenario housed in Puerto Rico. A missile is launched to Puerto Rico, but the missile is swept out of the air from a hurricane, posing a bigger threat, as a live bomb is in the hurricane and it is heading straight to Puerto Rico. Counter-strikes are launched, but it missed both the hurricane and the missile and it is headed to Florida, so after the EAS' in Puerto Rico, it goes in to Florida's EAS, saying 10 ballistic missiles are going to hit famous cities there. Also, the EAS for Puerto Rico should be in Spanish (using the Javier voice) and in English. I would recommend running the script through Google Translate and then maybe someone you know that knows Spanish, to then run through Javier's voice. I would recommend naming it "Disaster Keeps Striking" or something like that.

I heard you will only get the alert if you are watching local stations, like FOX, NBC, ABC, The CW, etc. But if you are watching something on ESPN, NFL Network or HBO that does not have local programming, you are out of luck. Is that true? Or will ALL channels, including if I'm watching something On Demand or the DVR, broadcast the emergency? And let's assume I don't have my phone with me at the moment to tell me that there is an emergency action notification.
I know that on cable systems all channels are interrupted and tuned to the single information channel, I can't speak for sure in the cases of satellite broadcast, however, I would bet that if it were an actual national emergency then they would also participate in the emergency broadcast and interrupt any channel being watched.

NWS means National Weather Service. Plus, if Yellowstone were to erupt, it would be closely monitored by the United States Geological Survey.

Ok so... basically, there is a national emergency, but every time the important information needs to be said, it is cut off. You don't understand what the emergency is until the very end. Hence, you are lost in the silence of the broadcast, or the lack of information. That's what it means.
