The 80's had THE ABSOLUTE best music in Metal, and then Metallica came along and went Pop, so extreme genres of Metal had to be formed and Metal went to shit after that. Just my opinion.
Love that Steel Panther has brought the Fun back into this type of Hard Rock again. And Cheap Trick still makes great music and puts on fantastic live shows!! One of the best Power Rock bands out there still.
Cheap Trick rocks harder than these posers ever did. Check out their 1st album as Exhibit A. They're lucky Robin did this for them. Ralph was way better with Atomic Punks.
Never really cared too much for Cheap Trick back in the 80's, they were okay, but I never bought any of their music. Then I saw a PBS concert with them within the last 10 years, and they blew me away. I never really paid too much attention to Rick Nielsen's playing, but he's REALLY very good. I love the fills he throws in while Robin is singing, spot on phrasing.
back in the 80's I bought Cheap Tricks One on One album on Cassette out of a record store bargain bin and the whole album blew me away. I only knew a few of their songs before that. been a fan ever since. This song was on that album.
Not only is this one of the best covers ever, did anyone notice the cherry Pie chick as the police officer, the second set of “Oh, I’m alone” was the singer of Cheap Trick and the Drummer Sticks just gets drum sticks pelted at him, all funny and great additions
I disagree on two points. I had to stop watching it. Don't know who this band is but they don't even come close to Cheap Trick. She's tight is a good song but Cheap Trick has so many that are just as good or better.
I saw them open for Kiss in 77 when they were recording “Alive II” at the Los Angeles Forum. I was 12 years old and had no idea who they were. From my seats I couldn’t really make out the logo on the drum kit (no giant screens back then), so for months after I thought I had seen “Cheap Truck”
@@demonhoopa I had Cheap Trick's first album at this point, and couldn't turn away from "She had a face that could stop a clock". I was there at the Fabulous Forum, and it was was a very funny scene. We parked, and we were parked next to a pickup with two guys laying on the hood. They were smoking weed and just waiting for the show to start. The nearest guy talked to us: "Yeah, my mom is a ticket seller and so I get tickets to all of this. We were at last nights show and it was hot." "Hot?" "Kiss was hot but Cheap Trick was HOT. "So...hot?" "Kiss was hot, but Cheap Trick was HOT." "So...hot?" "Kiss was hot, but Cheap Trick was HOT." It was a good show, Tom Peterson's bass was so loud that you could feel impact on your face. They fixed that, and it was a great show. And, yes, Cheap Trick was HOT!
Say what you want about SP...but they ALWAYS having a good time and want everyone to join in. They sincerely love what they do and it shows...awesome guys.
I just discovered that this cover existed while going down memory lane, revisting my old Cheap Trick obsession. I'm only somewhat familiar with Steel Panther, but this song was seemingly made for them, it's perfect... and this was just the laugh I needed today! I used to have a VHS with all of CT's videos, I remember jamming this song and having no idea what She's Tight meant. Man, those were the good old days 💜
This is a really clean cover. I think the members of Cheap Trick would be very happy with the way it all sounds. And it has some cues to Cheap Trick's original video.
this is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huge Cheap Trick fan here and I mean HUGE!! Also a HUGE Steel Panther fan. She’s tight is my favorite C.T. song, so was a good day when I found this video. Can’t wait to see Steel Panther live. ❤
Hell no. MTV is for pop crap and shitty hip hop. Put Panther on there, and they'll just be followed by a bunch of twinks with no real taste. Let's keep them with the real fans.
This song kicks ass royally so!!! I saw these guys at the Cotillion in Wichita back in June last year it was a great show they did a really rocking show!
I was putting together songs in my fantasy world in my head that I'd like to hear Steel Panther cover. This was at the very top. And here it is. What is happening? Do I have mental powers?
this song has been stuck in my head for days. I'm recommending steel panther to EVERYONE i know every day. you can not ever be bored or depressed listening to steel panther! COME BACK TO NY I JUST MISSED YOU GUYS!
In an era where the video is all but dead. Steel Panther nails the art of creati5 "can't stop watching" videos for their songs. Relying mainly on RUclips where they got most their huge following it make me wonder how big they would be if we had the music video outlet of the 80's - early 2000's. 🤘💯 Keep rockin' Steal Panther you just might bing the power back.
Steel Panther rockin' that Ramones sound. Edit: I realize now that this is a Cheap Trick cover. Was wondering why Rob Zander was included in this video.

Agreed

And dangerous curves from Australia!
Nothing is over that we don't let be over. This music is here now for a whole new generation!
Ik plenty new bands that will change that including mine when I get it together
They should preform at the super bowl
prefirm
I agree, i'd fucking love that.
if Steelers play against Panthers
meganega123 Fucking Brilliant
bravo!
I'm a big fan of how Sticks just keeps getting increasingly confused about his drumstick situation.
That's so funny! I love how they are making fun of themselves.
Yeah, that’s because they are also a parody band, making fun of heavy metal!
@@PNGPJSreally heavy metal but more 80s glam rock and hair metal. Not only are they funny but great to listen to
Everyone: "The 80's were 40 years ago."
Steel Panther: **LAUGHS IN NO**
That's actually true cause I told my teacher that the 80s happened 40 years ago but he said 30
Did anyone catch that Warrant reference with the cherry pie?
Hell yeah, best part about this video haha
Bobbie Brown was in the video as well at that point.
The woman in black at 1:29 is Bobbie Brown, the "Cherry Pie" girl and former wife of Jani Lane. It is also her mouth in the closeups starting at 0:41.
I didn't get it straight away, but I knew there was a reason for the pie!
That mouth actually belongs to Robin Zander - the lead singer of Cheap Trick. That is part of the joke. Great video and great cameo by RZ. Hilarious!

The girl with the Mohawk, was in the Documentary "Dark end of the street" she was heavily addicted to heroin. She's now sober, & with Steel Panther!
Alice McMunn is her name
Hated Mark thank you. Have seen her in a few videos and wondered who she was. Thank you
yes alice mcmunn huge fan of all the work she done
she looks fun

I know this is a cover BUT I will never stop introducing people to Steel Panther!!! The greatest band ever

Too bad these comedians just suck.
i’ve loved this song since it came out 40 years ago. And they certainly did it 100% justice. Very nice.
The greatest band in decades.
Best decade ever! 1980s!!!
This is an amazing cover.

YEP!
That is Robin Zander's 💋 lips
God bless the beauty that is Bobbie Brown.

This band is such a fun parody of 80s glam rock and hair metal that its easy to forget that they can really jam
Completely awesome cover, including the cameo by Robin!

Headbangers ball was the shit, Satchel actually was featured with Fight on Headbangers ball one time.
So you guys think this is music?
melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics, tessitura, timbre, tempo, meter, texture ... got it all ... now fuck off!
what!? no satchel solo! I'm disappointed :(
original song doesnt have a solo :(
yunes brejan wish satchel would have worked a unique solo somewhere at the end.
as S3
What are you talkin about Satchel solo? This is a Cheap Trick cover. I dont think anyone realises this?

One of the best bands around

Yes
My favorite thing about this video is Steel Panther how is pays homage to Cheap Trick while also making it their own.
SP got me through a tough deployment in 2010. Glad to see that they are still rocking.
That riff sounds almost exactly like the riff for Talk Dirty To Me.
You mean that generic rockabilly/bluesy riff which has been used as long as rock has?
Poison isn't the biggest poser band for nothing.
this came out a couple years at least before talk Dirty to Me.
Cheap Trick recorded 'She's Tight' in 1982. Poison recorded 'Talk Dirty To Me' in 1986.
Yeah its a generic sort of riff. Probably most famously used by Eddie Cochran in "Something Else", which is probably where Cheap Trick ripped it from.
I'm getting "Talk Dirty to Me" vibes from this
