    Finally someone did a full DIY guide! Great job John! I've been torn between the Rago brackets and CBI brackets...I was leaning towards CBI and thanks to your vid, I'm gonna pull the trigger on these.

    Great install video, thank you! Marking the hood alignment was clutch, as soon as that second bolt came out my hood was flopping around and I would have spent way too much time realigning it, great tip!

      Sweet, feels good that I could help.... I'm right in the middle of slapping Tundra brakes on my 98 runner. Of course videoing it too (- ;
      Cheers and enjoy the weekend!

    Halleluiah! Thank you for this! I just bought these brackets, and I've been looking all over for a complete CBI bracket install video for a 3rd Gen. I didn't realize these were not installed on the hood bracket (like Rago and others) until I got them and saw the instructions (then I found some more info on SRQ's website), and there really isn't anything out there until your install video. I'm pumped to get these installed now.
    What type of ditch lights did you buy? I have the Auxbeams (look similar to what you have), and I'm a little nervous about routing the wiring through the firewall - several YT videos mention doing that, but they don't really show the actual poking/wiring through there (I'm sure it's difficult to get a camera angle in there).

      You're welcome... I'm putting together a video of the light install,... When car camping the wife sometimes hears things outside and wanted some all around lighting...
      I actually installed 7 lights (2 front bumper, 2 ditch lights, 3 bumper (1 right, 1 left and 1 back)). Have them on 4 switches (front, right, left and back).
      When are you doing your lights? I'll try to get the video up before you do them.

      @@ExploreDivision Probably in a couple of weeks. Doing some off-roading/camping as well, and I just wanted a little extra visual on the sides when it starts getting dark and I'm driving down dirt roads. So around the 10:00 mark, did you just have to re-align the fender some (loosen/shift/re-tighten the bolts) because of how the hood was closing down next to it? Thanks, again!
      Nice 4Runner. I like those wheels!

      Yes, on the driver side I had to loosen the top three bolts shifted it over and then tighten them again (not a big deal) After learning that I pre-marked the fender location on the passenger side and it went back together in its original spot.

    This install seems like a pita compared to other ditch light brackets

      Hit up the company you bought it from or use washers as a shim on the missing side.

  • @mk_jrod942

    Do I need the spacers , dident coke with them

    • @ExploreDivision
      @ExploreDivision  Год назад

      @MK_JRod I suppose you can put them in without the spacers. I like them because it took up the space on the recess that's on the lower hood hinge part of the hood. You can see it at the 6:13 spot on the video.

      If they didn't come with them, I would stack up washers to make the difference. Probably need 2 or 3 per bolt.

      They replaced the stock ones, longer to accept the added hardware. Sorry, didn't measure them.
