As much as people worry about BPA and other plastic chemicals. It's surprising to me it's so difficult to find a machine that doesn't have a plastic basket that you pour hot water into....
Lead was found in some of the all metal auto brewers I was looking at. All metal leeches some amount and especially in boiling water. Pick your poison if you're going with automatic. Personally if it's not all stainless steel I fear metal more.
Hello! Do you think the ratio six would work with a Chemex for occasions where you are brewing only one or two cups? Does the brew basket have to be on in order to engage brewing?
Sitting here sipping my coffee, Pakt backpack out for delivery and just jamming out to this content man. Much appreciated, the information and the enthusiasm.
NGL, when I saw chase say E.D.D, I thought this machine brews some miracle coffee that cures a certain population of males of a certain affliction. Slick looking video with good music.
You always put such genuine energy into your videos but please can I ask that you add some transparency before the video starts. I was watching this like, this is straight up a paid promotion! There wasn’t really much info in the description. I figured I could skip to the end to find out the details, but it would be lovely to start off on a quick and honest note about how you got this product and how you’re presenting the video. It’s great to see you branch out and present other products. Even though I’m here for the bags, most of us can’t deny we love a well brewed cup of coffee as well.
Yea, they've been making coffee makers for a while. Rigorous stuff going on here, boilers, lots of water, etc. Lots of consumer reviews on their site, some of them mention a fix of some issue.
I love your reviews, but man, a 300$ coffee maker in the midst of covid when shifts are dodgey to begin with...it ain't happening. I'll do a pour over every time to use that 3 months of money for this thing to pay more on my principal instead. As always, love your energy and attention to detail. Cheers.
Barely expensive when you compare its durability to the cheaper coffee makers over time. Amortize dat over time and it's like spendy hiking gear with lifetime warranties - affordable over the long haul. (and better E.D.D.)
@@chasereeves I appreciate quality items. Luckily, I have what I need without needing to spend more at the moment. Though, I doubt there will ever come a time that I'll spend this much on a coffee maker, despite it's quality. Take care. :)
Holy hell I read 'Ratio' as 'Rat-ee-oh' in my head before I clicked on the video and you said it. I've been corrupted by living in a non-natively English country. 😂
This is so helpful. I can hear the genuine review. You also hit alot of questions I have and appreciate getting the point of view from someone who used it over a long period of time
I don't even enjoy coffee but Chase is so enjoyable to listen to. Bags, snacks, coffee, shoot Bellroy pencil case. It's all good when Chase is educating. Thank you Chase Reeves.
Aw man, I was hoping for a signature Chase Reeves rant at the end. Great review nonetheless. Whether someone is looking for a coffee maker or a backpack, I don't think anyone can question your authenticity and energy. Keep up the great work Chase!
$300 really isn't that much for diehard coffee people, my aunt has a Saeco machine and that's in the thousands, after that nothing fazed me anymore. lol
Technivorm was one of the only things on the market at this level of quality before Ratio started making the 8, but technivorm uses lots and lots of plastics.
@@chasereeves I have been using my Moccamaster for the last three years and love it. I would agree the plastic is a bit of a downer. The metal and the bloom in the ratio sounds nice.
@@deathkid411 The ratio sounds amazing, but the Moccamaster kills too. The lots of plastics is a bummer so this is awesome to see Ratio incorporate great materials in a machine that can also do a solid job.
The Ratio Six coffee maker is a gem! Definitely worth having around if you want tasty results for a group of people... and yes, you don't want to be making 6 pour overs for your family when you should be having breakfast haha lol
If you ever do a Q and A video, I'd love to know what caused you to leave your faith. For the record, I left mine, so I'm not trying to instigate anything. Just curious. We come from the same evangelical world.
Check out the band Gangs of Youth, they have a similar story. The album Go Farther in Lightness is kinda their story of anger and nostalgia towards the church.
Why is this not branded a commercial? This is like sales television, just pushing a product in exchange for at least free stuff. Does not qualify as review but as shopping television.

When chase uploads = E.D.D

Love your energy ! I just bought a cuisinart coffee maker lol now I’m regretting it ! In due time ..
I don’t drink coffee but enjoyed the video. Might treat my husband next holiday.
Loved your video, thank you for making it! Can you suggest a brand of coffee filter to use that wont change the flavor of the coffee?

And to clarify, you were transparent about how you came by this product. It was just at the end of the video and not the beginning.
Agree with this, though I'm still interested in the video.
Word, yea, this one they sent to me, not paid, tho. Put this vid together for anyone searching in the future about buying one.
The basket is plastic?
Freakin love my ratio six
Mine is arriving today ❤️
Ratio 8 vs Ratio 6? Which one would you prefer? Price isn't an issue
8 if I have the vertical counter space.
I can't believe you carry this thing in your backpack, everywhere you go.
A lot of people who have sent it in for repair?

Gotta agree here. But it's not forbidden to dream about a high-end coffee maker ;)

I just like hearing the rationale. And some of the tips on routine.
I’ve also gone through 3 coffee makers since 2015

Love that you're reviewing different things other than bags now, but speaking of bags, are you planning on reviewing the Minaal 3.0 and daily 3.0?
Better than Technivorm or Bonavita?
Yaaas 🙌🏾🙌🏾 strong coffee strong mind. Wouldn’t say no to more of these food vids 👌🏾

Just got my pakt backpack nice AF. Thanks chase!
Nice but I’m but what about backpacks ?
This vs Moccamaster ?
63g coffee for 1.3L water on a 22 grind setting?
i believe that’s what i saw. i think they filled to the 8 cup line and then did 63g coffee on a 22 grind, as you said.
@@DirtForm Yeah... That's about half the strength of a typical Chemex brew...

better be buying a dope coffee grinder also in the 300 range....
For all your upgrades in your life, dude, you need to upgrade your keyboard and mouse to Logi MX
Will this coffee maker make me want to read business papers?
Strong correlation.

For that price get an espresso machine
I guess it comes down to your preference of drip coffee or espresso based drinks. Both have their upsides!
A junk machine for that price. lol
@@venom5809 You mean espresso?
Buy coffee from Puerto Rico 😊
OK save up for this coffee machine and it's BIG AND CLUNKY, Not my thing.
300 bucks to drink puddle water. Nah man. Espresso is the way.
Hey I’m second!
hey i'm first lol
