I know basically nothing about Marc Brown as a creator. I didn't know he was still alive, I didn't know he had any involvement with the TV show, nothing. So when the show did this, I kinda wondered if he wasn't some crotchety old man angrily thinking his characters had been stolen to push an agenda. That really isn't fair, we shouldn't assume older creators of things are closed minded, and I'm delighted to be wrong on this one. I appreciate your work, Mr. Brown, and am thankful this was something positive you wanted to do.

Still love this show!!! It’s timeless and addresses real world issues affecting kids in a safe, age appropriate way. The voices of the characters were better in the late 90s (especially Arthur’s voice) and they’ve thrown in too many new characters that just aren’t well developed. With that said, I hope “Arthur” sticks around for at least a few more years!

A brief history in the changing of animation:
In 1999 Cinar was investigated for tax fraud, and was proven true.
In 2004 Cinar was purchased by Cookie Jar Group. Cookie Jar was then acquired by DHX Media in 2012.
In 2013 the animation studio was switched from AKOM to ASHK. Despite all these changes the series did not start changing o flash until season 16.
During season 16 the animation company switched again to 9 Story Entertainment (now 9 Story Media) and was continued to be distributed by DHX, up until season 20.
WGBH then contracted Oasis Animation (a Montreal based animation studio) to then continue from season 21 and on.

I’m more surprised Patty let Buster go to the wedding the way he was dressed. I’m just glad Arthur still has the same humor and heart as it did when I was a kid. I was laughing throughout the entire episode and then smiled immediately at the conclusion. The kids said they wanted Mr. Ratburn to be with someone nice and caring and that’s exactly who they got. It was very cute.

I really liked Mr. Brown's explanation and he's spot on with his beliefs. The episode was handled beautifully and it felt like the classic episodes. I wish he would've answered the question of how long the intention of Mr. Ratburn being gay has been there though, since some including myself have theorized it prior to the episode.
Hard to believe the books appeared in the 1970s. I had no idea it was even still on the air. And why switch to Flash? A question that will never be answered satisfactorily.
