I notice your copy of the Testament of Solomon is the translation done by Tarl Warwick. He's here on YT (among other places) as "StyxHexenHammer666," and he's basically a conservative libertarian and a pagan. He's also something of a shitposter, but that's to be expected, just based on his name.
The postmortem prolapses associated with kappas/shirikodama are likely caused by the same mechanisms that caused coffin births: internal pressure building from bacteria releasing gasses during decomposition, pushing against the organs and forcing them out. Bodies that are embalmed will not have this issue, as they are drained, treated chemically and preserved. It makes sense that people who die in the elements and aren't immediately found, like drowning victims, would potentially have prolapses.
I find it pretty interesting that all sorts of animal shifters such as skinwalkers and werewolves are considered evil in all cultures except slavic, since in pre Christian slavic culture Volcodlack was considered a profession to be respected and was often seen as someone to look up to, especially amongst cossacks who in their legends glorified shamans and sorcerers who can shift into a beast and rip the enemies to shreds
It's not necessarily the act of transforming that people fear or consider "evil" but the act of deception, basically being a literally wolf in sheep's clothing. The fear that a person close to you could possibly not be who you think they are taps into a primordial fear that all human's share. There are stories and heroes across cultures of humans taking the form of beasts esspecially child's folk stories and they're not considered "evil" because they aren't deceiving or tricking people when they do it. An example similar to Volcodlack is Bödvar Bjarki who transformed into a bear at times of battle.
It’d be cool if you had a look at entities from indigenous Australian culture. There aren’t many demons per say, but I think the likes of Namorrodor would be quite fitting for SMT
You know I hear you play silent hill music every so often idk if you just like the music or actually like the games but if you do like the games have you ever thought about doing a video on it?
I like the idea of the doppelganger. I always thought they'd be from parallel worlds. Though, I certainly wouldn't like my fate to follow that of those who meet their doubles in JoJo's part 7. That shit gives me the heebie jeebies
2:53 Funnily enough, in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, there are headless ghost enemies can actually do this very thing to your character. Mind you this was before I knew what the lore behind the shirokodama was and I didn't realize what the headless was actually doing when they "grab" you. Also a neat thing about ghosts in Sekiro is that they can kill you with the status "terror". And in true FromSoft fashion, one of the items that can help you alleviate terror is the item Pacifying Agent. Reading its item description, it says: all who keep death close keep this powder closer, adhering to a simple rule: "If seized with fear, cover your rear".
Very interesting! I love your last pick, it's akin to some eldritch beast watching beings struggle in vain only this thing really does fucking hate you. As far as suggestions you're really covering most things I'm interested in. I would like to see you talk about Sanat or Asherah/Ishtar if you haven't already, I always found them interesting.
Listening to his princes of hell video I had a certain image of each of them. Asmodeus is nyarlathotep as made by god instead of a New England resident. And if you’re curious Beelzebub looked exactly the smt version. Belphagor was like the pointy haired boss from dilbert(the cartoon). Leviathan was a like a sandworm made of constantly terraforming earth. Mammon was looked like the old man from the twilight zone episode “the burning man”. Satan was simply a seal to label an opponent or punisher. And Lucifer is simply too flexible from time to have a form.
2:35 I may be incorrect, as my Japanese knowledge is still really limited and pronounciations of things change over time, but I think the prostate soul is called "Shirikodama/尻子玉" which translates effectively as "little butt ball." The O in place of the second i would change the word into 白子玉, which means "little white ball." Also, kappa have been known to kidnap children and also force themselves onto women, all around terrible dudes. Glad they're more chilled out in their modern renditions. And as always, great video.
I have a funny story relating to Kappa. A few years back a friend of mine set up a Minecraft server with a few hundred mods, one of which included Kappas (or something similar). For some reason, they were completely invisible and intangible - even to the extent of not having any hitbox in the f3 debug menu. I'm not sure if they started out this way, or if they were bugged due to the removal/disabling of their mod, but nearly any river on that server was made into a death trap where at any time you could be dragged underwater and held there until you drowned or disconnected. This led to all of us being extremely paranoid around water in the spawn chunks and surrounding that were generated before they were disabled for good. Just getting near the banks would be enough to risk getting caught by the demons.
If you have never been shot then you could be the doppelganger the only way to know for sure is to get shot several times and see if the bullets have an effect
The secretly feeding monks meat one sounds weird since the Buddha said you are to eat whatever you are give. This includes meat, unless you know it is specifically killed just for you to eat. Maybe that’s a later Mahayana thing.
As someone who lives in Utah and did a lot of camping in scouts, nothing scares me more than skin walkers. Every time without someone who talk about or tell a story about them and we would all go to bed terrified
I was TERRIFIED of doppelgangers as a kid. I read this book whose name I can't remember, of a space base on the moon. Strange things start happening nearly as soon as the main character arrives, like exterior pods being unlocked, sets of footprints appearing on the surface of the moon that seem to lead and disappear into nowhere, and eventually an astronaut is spotted on a spacewalk while everyone is accounted for in the base... When they send someone outside to confront the doppelganger, it disappears again, only to be replaced by a set of footprints that seem to wrap around the scout astronaut, like in a blink of an eye the intruder managed to enter the decompression chamber and disappear. Then, of course, the murders begin, as all the crew learn that some kind of phantom mimicking an aproximation of a human form is among them. As the crew learns more about their enemt, though, it learns more about them, eventually taking joy in torturing and killing each of them as slowly and cruelly as possible, to better mock the human condition. The book ends with everyone dead, the moonbase destroyed, and our main character returned to Earth ater a rescue mission... Who of course, turns out to have been the real doppelganger all along left to rampage as they see fit. ...I don't know if the book was any good, in retrospect, but it sure scared the shit out of me at the time.
Fun fact: All the realms in the anime Bleach are based on the 6 samsara realms in Buddhism. And the “hungry ghost realm” is what Las Noches is called in the Japanese. The hungry ghosts are what Hollows are based on as well
I love the Hungry ghost concept, in Taiwan we thinks people who done bad stuff or people who no one dies will become hungry ghost in hell or 孤魂野鬼(Lonely spirit and wandering ghost), they can't eat anything cause anything put in their mouth will become fire and ashes right away, and they can't even swallow it cause their throat are said to be as thin as a needle, so they kept begging God for mercy, and God out of kindness allow them to go to the human world and eat the spirit of the foods once per year, so it's tradition here that every house will just cooked bunch of foods cause we believe that there are demons who will actually eat them.
One demon I always found scary was Lady Midday/Południca/Poludnitsa from Slavic Mythology She often takes the form of a woman with a scythe or a sickle. Roaming the fields during the noon, she assails the folk working on these grounds. Sometimes she asks really difficult questions, and if you fail to answer, then she will kill you or punish you in some way (in one book I read that she will make you eat worms or do some other awful stuff) I don't think I need to explain why I find her scary, but when I was younger, I was afraid to go further on a field near my grandma's house because I was scared that the Południca will get me

Please, next time talk about Astaroth or Melchizedek.

"...so as that they shall revere us as if we were gods..."
Oh boy, I love self-fulfilling prophecies.

Gross... but interesting!

Slavic folklore never ceases to amaze me

Isn’t shapeshifting also not considered evil per-se in celtic mythology? Also nordic, druids and berserkers.
It’d be cool if you had a look at entities from indigenous Australian culture. There aren’t many demons per say, but I think the likes of Namorrodor would be quite fitting for SMT
Good stuff as always the doppleganger and preta ones were my favorites.Im loving learning more about budism through your work.
Yay another episode Canadian loremaster Megaten I mean Tony4You
Piscata, because of a certain comic on a certain website...
You know I hear you play silent hill music every so often idk if you just like the music or actually like the games but if you do like the games have you ever thought about doing a video on it?
I absolutely adore the games and would love to talk about the original 4 at some point. Played them all again recently too
What's the ost on 4:30 and throughout the video?
And 8.36!
I have drinks with my doppelganger every Friday
Damn i only knew kappa drown people, i didn't expect they'll rip someone's ass 😭
Papa has returned with a loaf of bread and now we may survive the winter
If I see a doppelganger it's on sight for both of us, no doomed fate is gonna be lying in my future, one of us is dying then and there
Asmodeus is the original hater, lmfao
DIO if he was a demon
modern american woman are more terrifying....
If you carve your child's name on a cucumber and throw it into a pond before they go swimming, the kappa will leave them alone.
Good practical advice for Japanese children
Dropped everything to come here
Same
Dropped a big, fat Kodama poo-poo to watch this video 😂
You are the real legend
Sorry about your baby.
@@Tony4You, ю ар велком

"Possessing the creature, or wearing their skin like a suit" - Holy shit you're right, Bulbmins are 100% just Pikmin Skinwalkers!
Talk about ripping ass - Kappa

All my homies HATE Asmodeus
I don't care if Kappa is evil, they will always be cute
A creature that steals your soul out of your anus cannot possibly be cute
He says as a kappa is elbow deep in his behind
I wonder if Stephen King was influenced by the dusturbing lore of Asmodeus when he conjured up Jack's descent into insanity in The Shining.
I really appreciate the imagery and length of your videos. Very easy for research and talking points.
Tony, go "Top 5 sick and based demons". 😂🎉
This editing was pretty good… for a nerd!
TRUE!
Screw zodiac signs! Which is scarier.
Skinwalker or Wendigo
Wendigo. I really don't want to be cannibalized.
Japanese mythology is fucking wierd and i love it
Why is there a bulbmin at 4:32?
He is indeed an animal associated with death to me lol
What disturbs me the most is that more people don’t know about this channel. This and Marsh (The SMT Experience) give me that good SMT content.
Number 2 is just the unhenged wackadoos on social media.

For asmodeus the passage that gets me the most is "not knowing the names of the angels". The inability to know or reach help is quite frightening.
this is so alpha of you mr tony4you
Thank you my brother
Type sura jinn 100 times on your phone listen morning and night
Be still relexs listen it does not matter if you do not understand
Trust me
Interesting content. Music sounds like RE or dmc lol
Just woke up and saw this 😁
So a skinwalker is literally just a psycho in a fursuit. Lots of words being misused in this day and age. Especially with that new Lethal Company mod
As someone who lives in Utah and did a lot of camping in scouts, nothing scares me more than skin walkers. Every time without someone who talk about or tell a story about them and we would all go to bed terrified
Goku is just what would happen if Superman was raised by hillbillies.
I'm new here, is this guy "sethzeentach" guy?
I get that a lot but no lol
#6 Your mom
I like kappa cuz Nitori cute
How do we get free from demons?
Ah disturb me. Tell me more
