My dad told me an old story about George Lynch. I guess he was teaching at Randy Rhodes’ studio while Rhodes was on tour. Some girl (I’m guessing late teen early 20’s) was having trouble playing a chord and told Lynch her fingers hurt, to which he replied “stretch your fingers, bitch”
I dont think he gets overshadowed by Warren anymore,maybe back in the mid to late 80's for a little bit,but most knowledgeable music people know that George is much better live,I am always disappointed when I hear Warren live,he just doesnt have that same crisp clean nasty tone like on Ratt recordings. George has such a unique, ferocious style and unorthadox approach to his phrasing ,linear vibrato, tones....he plays his own songs differently each time it seems and almost always sounds great...A sign of a great talent , so many very good players play there solos the same or if they do try it different it doesnt fit right or it just sounds like basic "scale" soloing. Not George. He even changes up the chord flavoring which can sound so nasty awesome,sometimes he doesnt land on his feet,but he is human lol. I personally think he is the most interesting guitarist to watch and listen to...Even today at his age,he keeps getting cooler looking too. I know, I know ,man crush 💁♂️

If you do more Dokken how about The Hunter , bit different for George as a lot more bluesy . Used to be able in the 80s to get on import the Learn to burn series of cassettes and tab , would love to be able to still be able to get them . Not to detract from your invaluable lessons which are outstanding , guess am just stuck in the 80s and wish I was back then .

Really enjoyed the Guitar Lessons 365 Academy live stream yesterday. If anyone hasn’t seen it, check out Carl’s great response to my question about reducing tension while playing (starts approximately 37 minutes 40 seconds in to the live stream and finishing about 46 minutes 40 seconds in). Towards the end his response morphs into the true source of getting good tone while playing. Absolutely brilliant! Thanks for the Dokken lesson! Have a great Sunday!

Carl when you gonna get you a rad Les Paul?! It’s a necessity! I also highly recommend you try out the new bareknuckle polymath pickup man I’ve got the bridge in my les Paul and it’s the sweetest sounding pickup I’ve ever played. Feels and sounds so amazing. I’ve been ecstatic since I’ve put the bridge in my guitar and am blown away everytime I play!
George is a great guitar player, his fills remind me of Ted Nugent, his tone is near perfect and damn he can write a tune. Always have time for some Lynch rocker's. Thanks.
Lynch is a beast , even now he still shreds. He hasn't lost a step , did you see the last reunion from a couple months ago , he was destroying it on Kiss of death. But Don's voice is completely shot so George has to drown him out!
@@mikeg.9238 Totally agree. Shame about Don's voice. He had one of the great rock voices and great vocal range. Sadly some voices deteriorate badly over the years such as Don's and Jon Bon Jovi. Bryan Adam's still has a good voice. It is an individual thing the way vocalists voices changes over time.
@@johnroche7541 Yeah it's to bad , in their prime they kicked ass. You're exactly right about Bon jovi also , i couldn't believe how awful his voice is now also. They don't know when to call it quits , then you have Bruce Dickinson who's voice is as strong as ever , he maybe can't reach the higher ranges but he can still belt out the song's and knows what he's capable of. I saw them in 2019 and was blown away at how good he sounded...
