A silly fun fact I actually picked up from the fountain pen community (my special interest): the reason why your hands smell weird after touching some metals (metal slinkies, copper fountain pens etc) is actually because some of the metal ions bond to lipids present on your skin, causing a distinct smell that may be offputting to some people. The metal in itself doesn't actually smell, it's the contact with skin causing a reaction. I don't particularly like the smell either, so I tend to go with plastic alternatives where possible. My current main stim is just rubbing my fingers over the tomoe river paper in my hobonichi cousin (it's sooo smooth) Lovely video as always!
If you're wondering the Squishmallow you have is a squishville! They're basically mini Squishmallows! I love rewatching this video, it's so relaxing. I don't have many fidgets because most I find way too loud or overwhelming. But oddly my wack tracks is fine, definitely need to pick up some tangles! And thank you again for making a safe space in the comments, it's lovely to see
kind of off topic, but needle felting is a great activity for autistic people who like to try new topics. it’s easy, doesnt take too long, has a satisfying needle movement, and creates a soft toy!!
I have a jellycat bee. They really are wonderfully soft (plus the bee has beans in, which is a nice feel). I got a number of my tangles at The Works in the UK, plus a variety of other stim toys. They get new things in fairly often.
I have very severe anxiety and I fidget a lot so I love these vids:) sometimes I feel embarrassed to have things because I am in highschool but these vids remind me I’m not weird for needing it
Love this! I’ve been looking into stim toys for my anxiety and when i get very overwhelmed and need something to keep my hands busy while i ride it out. Thank you for creating a safe space
this just made me go and get a bunch of my old stim toys out 😄 One of my favourites is this little TY seal plush - I think it was part of their Beanie Boos range? It's perfectly hand-sized and I mostly use it as a sort of stress ball, but it has different types of stuffing in different areas (cotton wool and "beans") and the giant shiny eyes, so it's very tactile. I love fidget spinners, but now the ones I had from a couple of years ago are worn out, and I'm having a hard time replacing them as they're no longer a "playground trend" so shops aren't selling them :(
the uk shop tink n stink sells lots of tangles and chewelery, and all things sensory by alyssa and fantistic are great etsy shops to buy handmade fidgets!
Omggg the Jellycat mole is so cute! I have a jellycat octopus which is so soft and I love it because they put elastics in the tentacles so it’s really soothing to run ur hands through and pull on. Love the vid! :))
Hi everyone! So they mentioned in this video they want the comments to be people sharing links and such so I thought I'd give it a go! I'm currently on the search for stim toys that are on keychains preferably not from Amazon because those are all over priced and cheaply made! I prefer things like sensory brushes (or anything with a bumpy or squishy texture) pressable buttons, crunchy things but I just haven't found anything but popits on keychains :
I like to stim with money. I am a cash budgeter and it is so satisfying to just flip through them, count the money, etc. i love the sounds the money makes too
Such a lovely video! Honestly with my adhd I find myself stimming with the most random object near me (though I’ve been gravitating towards a beaded bracelet my best friend got me), so seeing a nice selection helps remind me that I should go out and buy a stim toy for myself!
Would love the spinny tree from early on. The specific rice you dad is called a d20 it has 20 sides, in case people are searching to it. If you love rice there are dice collecting videos on here. The molecule thing looks good too. WOOD animals Ostheimer a German brand also Eric and Albert in he uk they are often listed under Montessori toys. Many different animals available tho. But as you say they feel nice. Right with you on tangles and also jellycat plushies. The PEACH fuzz texture on the figure is called flock. Feels nice tho doesn't it. There is a tangle with that coating too. Thanks for sharing this.👍👍❤
I need your organization roomy thing I try to be organized but in a Couple of hours or days I just go back to being messy 😢 But I love this video!!I do need more stim toys because I keep losing all of my parents stuff
I love Jellycats sooo much! They are so soft and adorable. I didn't really mean to, but I seem to have started a small collection! 🤗 Thank you so much for sharing 💜
So much sensory enjoyment just seeing and listening to you explain each one, though ironically that style of wooden drawer is my sensory hell and made me cringe the whole time you were putting things away 😅
Thank you. I feel like I got a few insights from that, one of which is that your dad is really quite a cool chap. Suspected as much from the mechanical pencils segment the other week. :-) As for the whale, how could anybody not want one?
I love to stim i can not stop when i get going i have a lot of them like 380 lol but i am so young and my mom doesn’t want me to have no problems so i am not diagnosed but my teacher think i have it but my mom will not listen they think i have ADHD
I have it... He's a puppet... I'll take all the best toys from the 5 warehouses full of stuff somewhere in Toronto... And then people I like can raid through it and take whatever they want out of what's left... animals - Buttzy
I am glad you narrated the video it was so nice to listen to you describe the items 🥰😊 my favourite is the whale and the rainbow balls (sorry for my spelling)
i love how autistic people tend to have a little box full of stuff they like to stim with like a cat or dog would have a little toybox too full of little sensory objects. I would have one if i wasnt so disorganised, but my brother has one and its filled with stuff like this too. i tend to stick with bodily stims and echolalia or making random objects into stim toys and making a general mess, but i ordered myself some slimes recently and im really excited. i need to start taking care of my stuff though lmao.
A great video. We are identical twins on the autism spectrum. We love your videos. Maybe you could do a video on some more sensory toys you have. We would love to see that.
I just love these and now I want some of them into my collection too. I'll possibly go and raid my workplace (I work at a toy store currently) and pick up some I had my eyes on. I also have a fidget cube, but it's a flimsy off-brand one and the joy-stick part just broke off. Because of that, I don't like to use it anymore. :( I'd like to replace it, but still have to consider price and shipping costs. :|
This is SO INTRIGUING!!!! Came to comment because I prefer my mental slinky as a stim because of the weight of it. It’s so cool that one works better for you and the other for me! Autism differences but autism solidarity!
thanks for showing these! I only have two tangles (one textured and one smooth) and a boob stress ball haha and one of those bubble popper things. looking for more but can never find the right stim for me. :(
i struggle too! a lot of these i've had for years, and most are secondhand and not considered 'traditonal' stims. hope one day soon you can find a new right stim for you ♥️
@@MeganRhiannon i swear ds styluses are the best to stim with i wish the nintendo switch had a stylus, like i sometimes spin the ds stylus in my fingers, tap the top screen of the 2ds, take the stylus slighty out and back in

i took down a lot of my older videos because i wasn't really comfortable with them being up for so many years! i've changed a lot since then and it's weird to have people fighting me about opinions i had 6 years ago 😅
I read the title initially as "slim toy collection" and then saw the shark in the thumbnail and thought "that's not a very slim boyee"
