I had a retinal hemorrhage 2 months ago. I still can’t see, but have surgery April 5th... When you don’t have Money or Amazing Insurance Coverage, you’re left to wait on Surgery. Just stating Facts. I hope her Eye fully recovered!! Blessing to her.
I had multiple tears, partial detachment and vitreous hemorrhage three weeks ago. Had vitrectomy surgery with the gas bubble. Today (3 weeks later), the gas bubble has decreased maybe 15%. It'll be a long road -- up to 8 weeks -- untll it's fully absorbed. More and more people are having this, it seems. We need more research as to why!
Savannah, thanks so much for sharing your story to help others. I saw you walk on the show with difficulty on your first day back. Now, I see why! I’m one week out from vitrectomy/laser/bubble. It’s going to be a long, hard road. Can’t see a thing, work, or drive!
Hello how are you now? Are u able to do your normal activities and are u allowed to do exercises? I had my surgery 3 weeks ago, I'm just curious to know how others are doing after the retinal surgery
@@_j_8151 Hi, I hope you are feeling good. I’m two years out now and fine. I ended having three eye surgeries; vitrectomy/laser repair/gas bubble, then grew a cataract and had that removed, finally Epiretinal membrane peel to alleviate the distortion. I’m finally back to normal life. The best of luck to you.
@@kathyh9792 hey too wanted to have vitrectomy cuz i have floaters and some flashes..will i have my normal sight after surgery cuz i don't even have glasses...
Wow, I can’t believe the nasty comments on here. I found this segment very interesting as my hubby just had an unexpected tear and had this surgery. I’m trying to learn more about it.
Your husband will recover fine..give it max 3 months..the gas bubble within the eye will have to decrease on its own... as soon as it does your vision will return to normal...
What an unrealistic and simple presentation of what happened. They make it seem like she will be fine and back to normal. It doesn't work that way. She's lucky she has people to help her.
I’ve had two detached retinal surgeries since October. First time I had silicon oil. Second time same eye I had a gas bubble. It’s been a month since that surgery and my sight in your left eye is still blurry. Doc put the longest lasting gas bubble which is supposed to last 8:to 10 weeks. Really sucks but I should be happy since it’# not cancer or a stroke!
Savannah, thanks for sharing. I am on day 6 and I too feel like I am doing things wrong but I am experiencing the same so I guess I am going to be okay...
I have the same thing with my right eye so I’m having my surgery sometime next month. I’ve never had a surgery in my life so I’m a little terrified. Good luck with your recovery, Savannah.
@@Aphrodite01 the surgery and the recovery went smoothly. My vision on my right eye is still slightly distorted and it will stay distorted but I can go on with my life so I’m very grateful.

Mine was BAD- so I'm having silicon oil filled inmy eye-- which will stay in indefinitely-- and NO weird positions as a result.. :) Glad you're doing well..
@@charrr869 My retina one IS beginning to see- but very cloudy and only when I'm rested.. but it IS working - slowly - and that was with a 5 year old detachment that they said couldn't be fixed. the "good" one is adjusting much better now- I think the left was causing it to work too hard in effort to compensate for the other (stereo vision effect makes one "help" or balance with the other).... if you had no eye issues other than the cataract or detachment- you should be fine.
Wow a toy train toss did that damage to her eye. She not get out of the way in time. Umm maybe she should teach her kid not to throw things now. He really hurt mommy. Gee be scared of that kid now. Gee i hope she did not say its ok ya hurt mommy its cute. Maybe only plushy toys for that kid now on no more heavy metal toys.
He said your retina was torn on the side-- well, mine is like a CONE inside-- but the center is good.. so they're going to laser it back in place-- and then fill it with silicon oil.. so no special positions necessary.. i wonder though- if they'll put in a dipstick so they can check the oil every so often?? ha. kidding- it will stay in and I just get checked every year for any contaminants etc..
I'm glad my kids were well behaved when they were young, never had one of them do such a thing. She may need a different nanny, sounds like he's a spoiled kid and maybe not the brightest either.
You made a good point in that it appears this should be a personal matter not for public consumption but every detail of a media person's life seems to need to be reviewed. Simply saying the person is ok and resting at home is all that needs to be said. IE...This is way too much information the public does not need.

W Parsons healthcare is amazing to have. It keeps families from losing everything in a catastrophe.

It’s not the nanny’s job to raise anyone’s kids.
