Of the eight youtube presentations I have watched thus far, this presentation was quite superior. Dr. Ellaban carefully explains the nature of this disease, and the array of symptoms very accurately. Above all, I appreciated his time and attention to whether or not the surgery would be a worthwhile option. He is careful to describe with specificity, symptoms that would warrant the surgery. I will likely watch his presentation at least one more time before my scheduled consultation with a retinal surgeon.

I agree, it was better explained to me than my optician did. I can actually “ see “ this pattern } in the back of my eye when l first wake up. The edges of it are a bright silver, after a few seconds it fades away.

In a perfect world surgery is available. Sadly here in Australia our health system has decided there will be no eye surgery for people over 70 anymore ( 2024) through Medicare. Many people do not have thousands of dollars so we senior citizens must suffer this at a time when we need our site the most.

This is what l see on waking every morning and once or twice through the day } a pattern similar to a flying bird, the edge is bright silver, it slowly fades in a few seconds.
